The tournament was now in full swing. Edward signaled for the next two opponents to step forward and take their positions. “Congratulations making it to the quarterfinals, you should both know the drill by now. I expect to see good sportsmanship from both of you. When I give the signal, you will bow to one another and begin. Wands at the ready.” He looked between both third years before giving his signal. “You may begin.”

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels. Duelers cannot cast spells at the spectators or face disqualification.

Lumos didn't even get to bow when suddenly Sayuri was trying to burn him alive, which seemed about fair for her really. He quickly defended against her spell, throwing up a Protego before she set him alight. "Merlin, Edogawa, you don't have to burn me alive!"

Lumos didn't quite manage to shield himself in time. As the spell hit he felt his face, he felt the skin raise as it turned into boils all over his body. He groaned in pain (because I imagine this is painful?????) and glared at her. "B!tch." He didn't mean to let it slip out, and he hoped Jonah would forgive him.

He saw the spell coming this time and only just managed to block it, moving slightly slower as he is. But he managed it at least!

Shame. Deciding she needed to up the ante, she cast "Reducto," but completely overpowered it and missed entirely, hitting the floor. "Hn. Really need to work on that," and prepared to cast another spell.

As she missed her spell, Lumos laughed at her before aiming his wand at her and casting "Tarantallegra!"

Sayuri cast the Knee-Reversing Hex just as a spell came flying out of the cockroach's wand. She didn't have time to dodge or cast a shield and ended up getting hit squarely. She was lucky, and yet it was still annoying how she was now tap dancing on the duelling platform. He was such a pest.

After his success at making Sayuri dance, Lumos was far too busy laughing to realise that she'd cast another spell at him. Thus he got hit by it, and suddenly his knees were on the wrong side of his legs. He stumbled slightly, because he wasn't sure how to walk with his knees now on the other side.

Finally, her spells were hitting. It was unfortunate that she also got hit—infuriating, more like—so she wanted to destroy him. It was a little hard to aim, however, with the tap dancing, but she managed to throw the Fur Growing Jinx.

He was already slow to move from the painful boils and the knee-reversing hex, so when he was hit with the jelly fingers hex he dropped his wand, and wasn't entirely sure how he was supposed to pick it up.

Lumos was quite frankly exhausted despite the duel not lasting very long. He went to retrieve his wand when he was suddenly hit in the shoulder with the stunning spell, dropping him immediately

Edward closely observed the heated exchange between the two young duelists. When Lumos dropped his wand, clearly disarmed, Edward stepped forward to declare Sayuri the winner. But before he could speak, to his shock, Sayuri cast another stunning spell. "Enough!" he barked, using non-verbal Expelliarmus to disarmed her. And with a serious expression said, “Miss Edogawa, your opponent was already disarmed. Casting an additional offensive spell at that point is a clear violation of the rules.” She had left Edward with no choice. “Sayuri Edogawa is the winner and also eliminated from the tournament.” Then he added, “You may collect your wand from my office this evening. Dismissed.” Without waiting for a reply, Edward moved away to revive Lumos and clear away the effects of numerous other spells.
 
“He was picking up his wand! And you haven’t called a winner yet!” Sayuri said hotly as her wand flew from her hand. What if the stupid cockroach cast a spell at her in retaliation then?! Why this proctor was out to get her was beyond her. Eliminated?! She could not believe how unfair this all was! She’d won fair and square and he’d declared her eliminated for incapacitating her opponent when he hadn’t even called the winner or stopped this stupid tap dancing! And now she couldn’t have her wand?! There was a furious heat rising in her ears. “Brilliant! I’m still tap dancing and miraculously was supposed to know the match was over!”​
