Leia felt like someone was looking at her. She had that feeling from the moment she’d sat down at the Slytherin house table, it was odd, she didn’t usually get that feeling, though of course there were a lot of people in the room who might look towards her. Leia had just never felt it like she was now. She was just trying to do a little of the work for one of her classes, and she was therefore not really eating. She put down her notes and looked around herself, trying to spot what it was she perhaps sensing. She finally caught the eye of someone who was looking right towards her. He was sitting at the ravenclaw table and she knew he was in her year, she’d seen him in classes. She had definitely seen him before. The girl frowned at him and looked back down at her work. She wanted to keep working but every time that she looked up she could spot him, still looking at her. Was something on her face, was there something wrong with her hair? She reached down for her bag and pulled out a compact mirror and did a quick look over her face and hair. She checked to see if she had something in her teeth or if her clothes were at all stained. But there was nothing worth staring at. She could tell he was still looking and she was losing her patience quickly.

The great hall was one of the most overwhelming places at Hogwarts, but also one of the most interesting. There were other students everywhere, and it was easy to watch them from a distance as everyone seemed to be busy with their own things. He usually sat close to his roommates, but was often quietly observing other people at different table while they chatted. Today he was looking at the Slytherin table curiously, trying to see what the students were doing over there. He wondered if the different tables were very different, as everyone was sorted on their personality. He spotted a girl he recognized from classes, and watched her for a moment. She seemed to be studying, but why during a meal? Augustus didn't really get it. He tensed as she suddenly met his gaze, and blinked at her. He was afraid to look away or really move at all, so he just kept staring at her silently. She was frowning at him, and then looked at herself in a mirror. Augustus tilted his head slightly, wondering why she did that. What did that have to do with looking at her notes?

Leia could sense that the boy was still looking at her, but she understood even less so. She didn’t have anything in her hair, nothing in her teeth, was he somehow seeing something that she wasn’t. She couldn’t understand it. The slytherin tried to once again focus on her books but she just couldn’t. When she looked up again and once again saw him staring she huffed frustratedly, slammed the books closed and walked over to the boy, ”Why are you staring at me?” she asked him, ”Didn’t anyone ever tell you that it’s rude to stare at people?” she added with an angry and high pitched tone. She wasn’t sure what he was seeing or looking at that merited such a long glare, such a stare. She couldn’t help the mounting anger at this boy, perhaps he hadn’t even been staring at her, but she couldn’t have seen what else he was staring at or believe it given that their eyes had met and she had looked away from him. Leia would feel bad if she’d been wrong about it, if he hadn’t been staring but she had no way to believe that he wasn’t staring.

Augustus wanted to run away as the girl approached the Ravenclaw table, as it was undoubtedly him she was approaching. He winced as she talked to him angrily. "Uh." He mumbled, looking at her with wide eyes. "No..." He said after a moment. Maybe someone had told him, but he wasn't sure if he understood why. It wasn't like he was hurting anyone. He blinked, still staring at her now. Was it still rude? She was talking to him now, so it was rude not to look at her, right?

Leia wasn’t too surprised that he hadn’t heart of it, of course no one had ever told him that it was wrong, if not then he wouldn’t do it. ”Well, it’s rude, especially when you don’t know them and if you’re not then speaking to them,” Leia said to him definitely adopting a lecturing tone as she spoke, though she was clearly still annoyed and her pitch had gotten higher the more she had said. She would have to be the first one to tell him. She could note now as she looked at him that he had pretty blue eyes, but she only noticed them because despite this being a more acceptable time to stare his gaze still made her plenty uneasy. ”Why were you staring at me?” she still had a hint of frustration, her tone still relatively high pitched.

Majora had been a little way away, trying to pick through some of the food that was on offer left from breakfast that he could give to Nox. He hadn’t yet risked a trip into the kitchens and do scraps of whatever he could get his hands on would have to do. The first year peered further along the table though when he heard voices, and saw his friend talking to one of the Ravenclaw boys in their class. He had missed what had happened exactly but it was clear Leia wasn’t pleased, and Majora kept an eye on things as they unfolded from afar, unsure of whether to say anything. Not that there was a lot to say, Leia seemed to have things under control. He waited a few moments more, observing as she asked why the boy had been staring at her, and glanced at what the boy was doing at the table in case that gave any indication of his intentions. “Are you okay?” He asked Leia, glancing from one student to the next.

Augustus looked at the girl nervously, feeling more and more intimidated by her. He wished she would stop talking to him now, but she kept going. He folded his hands together and looked down at them, as the girl clearly didn't like it when he stared at her. "I was curious." He mumbled when she asked why he had been staring. It was part of learning things, observing. He glanced up when a boy also approached, shrinking in on himself a little more. What if he was doing to be angry too?

Leia was a little surprised when at her side appeared Majora, she looked at him with some surprise written clear on her face, why was he doing this, they were friends but they weren’t that close. She did appreciate him doing that, coming over and seeing if she was okay. She wasn’t, her frustration with the other boy was not fading. She sighed heavily, frustration clear as the mentioned boy just explained that he’d been curious. ”He just kept staring at me,” she complained to Majora, ”I was minding my own business, doing nothing of importance and he was just staring,” she pointed at the boy with each time she talked about how he’d been staring, ”But, apparently he was just curious about something, so okay sure, that makes it all okay,” she stopped herself, feeling her voice rising in annoyance. She couldn’t let herself get too annoyed. But she couldn’t but be annoyed in the first place.

Majora shrugged when Leia looked over at him in surprise, although was it really that strange that he was sat at the same table given they were house mates? The first year listened as the Ravenclaw spoke about being curious, although clearly Leia wasn't buying it. Majora liked to think that he was quite good at deflecting issues with kids his own age, after living with over ten under one roof for the most part of his life. "What are you curious about?" the Slytherin asked, taking his sleeve in one hand and itching the side of his nose. Majora didn't really get what the big deal about it was, but obviously Leia didn't feel happy about the fact the other kid kept looking at her. Maybe it was putting her off. "What do you wanna know?" If the Ravenclaw couldn't keep his eyes to himself there was obviously something nagging at his mind. The only way anyone was gonna learn around here was if they asked questions anyway.

Augustus listened as the girl explained to her friend what he had been doing, looking down. Was the boy now angry at him too? He didn't fail to notice the girl's annoyance, but had no answer for her that would be satisfying to her he was pretty sure. The boy asked him questions, but Augustus just shrugged and didn't look at them. He kept his gaze lowered and shrugged again at the second question. He hoped that if he ignored them now, they might go away.
