Red rose, open after Professor Styx

Initially, Ivy had been happy to see she had two red roses. It felt more intriguing than yellow ones. But then she had seen that one was for Professor Styx, which was both bewildering and kind of scary. She had heard he didn't like this sort of thing, but well... she couldn't not deliver it. She had also heard his wife was a professor here too, so guessed the red rose was probably from her. He had to like that, right? She decided to give it to him in the Great Hall, rather than find him in his office. After gathering her courage, Ivy took a deep breath and walked over to the staff table. "Professor?" She said, stopping in front of Professor Styx. "This is for you." She held out the red rose.

The holiday fell all around the school, yet did not faze the Slytherin Head of House. In fact, he even forgot about it, much like he does most holidays. A student came toward with a rose. Kalif sighed and gestured for the first year to set it on the table. He would deal with it later, after all.

((It's at the staff table not his office :r))
Ivy was glad she had approached Professor Styx at the staff table, rather than in his office. But it was still kind of creepy. "Well.... happy Valentine's Day." She said, placing it down on the table. She lingered, curious if he was going to read it or not.

I kindly ask for a trampoline to be placed into the slytherin common room. You know you want to.

Lots of love

Liusaidh Fergusson

Liusaidh had been lingering near to the professor - as she could be - for most of the day. Knowing at some point someone would deliver him a rose and she doubted it would be from anyone else. So, she was nearly gleefully pleased as she was in the great hall and watched on of the gryffindor first years approach with a rose in hand for the professor. Liusaidh got up from her spot and began approaching. "Are ye gonna read yer rose professor?" she asked moving to stand next to the girl who had delivered it. There was a falsely sweet smile on her face as she asked it.

Considering the color, the event, and then who came up and asked about the note. Kalif narrowed his eyes before taking out his wand and turning the rose and the note along with it, to a tiny ant, before taking the tip of his wand and squishing the un-moving creature. "Does that answer your question, Fergusson?" His wife knew how much he detested this so he knew not to expect one from her, nor her from him.

Liusaidh watched with an eagerness at the professor after she'd asked her question. She didn't really expect him to turn the rose and the note into an ant and squish it with his wand. She'd expected him to set it alight or maybe blow it up. "Aye it does," she replied with a little giggle, "But that's alright, the rose was fae me anyway, and ah can just tell ye what ah wrote if ye want?" the girl told him with a false sweetness and eagerness, "It would just mean so much tae me, for ye to hear what ah had tae say..."

Kalif narrowed his eyes before taking a sip of his bitter tea from the goblet he had in front of him. "If it had anything to do with that little petition you had going around, the fate is the same as the rose," Professor Styx was starting to grow a little agitated. "You can also lose the sweet attitude. You and I both know that it is a facade."

Liusaidh had thought that he wouldn't know about the petition, but she hadn't exactly hidden it...She shrugged it, "So ye'll turn ma petition into an ant?" she asked with a smile, "But that's no an answer to if ye're getting us a trampoline?" Liusaidh asked, in theory he hadn't mention the trampoline itself. She then pretended to act confused by his words, even looking towards the deliverer of the rose. "What does facade mean?"

This was exactly why Kalif stopped teaching the younger years. He was getting a headache by this first year alone. He had not had one so annoying since Avery Mitchell. If only she would suffer the same fate in the end, but he doubted his luck would be that good. "That is a no," Kalif spoke coldly. "Facade. Charade. Acting. If you are done wasting my time, now would be a time to leave."

Ivy was surprised when Liusaidh joined her at the staff table, and she shot the girl a look. It seemed nosy and rude of her to ask about the rose, and Ivy wasn't sure what she was trying to accomplish. Ivy watched as the professor transformed the rose into a ant before squishing it, her eyes widening a bit. Liusaidh didn't seem all that disturbed, and she and Professor Styx started talking back and forth and basically ignoring her. She wasn't sure that she wanted to remind the professor that she was here, but it did feel important to remind him she had nothing to do with this. And to leave, she had more deliveries. "Right. Uh, bye professor." She said, shuffling back before turning and leaving.
