Avie Mitchell had admittedly been looking forward to the Yuleball for a long while. He had been waiting for it, mostly since he'd asked Kris. Before that, Avie hadn't been too interested in it. He had been planning on going because there was generally candy, but for now, Avie was more interested in going with Kris and spending time with him. He was a little nervous, but mostly he was just excited and really looking forward to being able to spend time with his friend. Last year, Avie had not quite managed to make it to the yuleball until too late, he'd come across the kitchens, and well, that had kept his attention a lot more than the yuleball would've. But this year it was different, he had more of a reason to be at the yuleball. He had a friend that he was meeting, and had promised to get dancing, and this year, unlike the last, Avie had decided that he would not put as much effort in what he was wearing to this yuleball. He had the same suit as last year, but rather than waste his tie with the silly suit jacket and the silly tie, Avie had opted to be more minimal, and that wasn't really just because he couldn't find the suit jacket or that the tie was a little bit covered in mud.

It meant that in absolutely no time at all Avie was ready for the Yuleball. He had of course showered, and actually cleaned himself up. He had gotten the nurse to help clear up the cuts and bruises from the rocks falling on his face, so Avie reasoned that he wasn't looking too bad, he had clearly put in a lot of effort for this. More than he did for most things. He glanced at himself in the mirror, and ran a hand through his hair, messing it up slightly, but it wasn't like he'd actually run a brush through it. He had used his hands, but that hadn't really worked. Just before leaving the dorm, Avie undid the top button of the shirt. He planned on having fun and dancing, that wasn't necessary really to have the top button now was it? Avie took one last look and then headed out the dorm room, to the Great Hall. Avie had plans to show Kris that dancing was fun and that he would have fun. That they weren't to sit in the corner doing nothing. Avie reached the Great Hall, and then looked around for Kris, not seeing him straight away. Avie was growing in excitement, he was really excited for this.

Kris Turner had been awaiting this night for a while now. He hadn't given it much thought and assumed he'd blow it off like he did Halloween, but Avie had asked him, and even if it was just as friends he couldn't back out. He was already nervous as Avie had promised to make him dance and try Butterbeer. As the whole school would be there he took quite a while on getting ready, and after a few hours gave up and threw on his blue suit jacket and a stripped shirt. He took time to brush his hair and then grabbed his jumper just in case it was cold.

Kris walked down the empty corridors towards the hall and passed a very small amount of people. This was obviously bigger than he thought and second thoughts crowded at the back of his mind. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea. He had made it to the large stair case when he spotted Avie so he slowly made his way down.

Avie spotted Kris as soon as he was on the stair case. He jumped up and down and waved his arms above his head so that Kris would be able to see him. Which was easily done. And soon, Kris stood before Avie. Avie smiled happily at his friend. He had been a little nervous asking Kris, thinking that he would maybe have a date and therefore unable just have with Avie, but it seemed like they would have lots of fun. Happily he pulled his friend into a warm hug. "Come on! Let's go" he said, tugging Kris into the hall and towards the dance floor. His friend was however taking too long, and Avie just broke away and walked quickly to the dance floor. He looked back at Kris as he began dancing, "Come on! You're dancing with me!" he called to him loudly, hoping his friend would hear him over the noise of the music around them. He really wanted to just have fun. And Kris was really the only person he wanted to have fun with.

The next few moments were are blur for Kris, as he was pulled into a hug and then dragged into the dance as if Avie was afraid he was going to run off. It had crossed his mind a few times but he'd never leave Avie on his own after he had asked him to come. After Placing his jumper down on a seat he followed Avie to the dancefloor and stood their awkwardly. It had been a few days since the rock incident and Avie's face looked a lot better and Kris decided to tell him so. "Um your face looks good." He hadn't been able to see Avie since then due to exams and his other friends. It looked like it was going to be a great night and he'd get to spend it with his best friend.

Avie was not a particularly good dancer, but he was also the kind of person who didn't really care. He was just jumping up and down dancing around as if the room was empty of all other people. He didn't care about getting crazy looks from people. He was just having a blast with his friend. Though when Kris spoke it was then that he realised his friend was just standing around. Avie smiled at him and nodded, his face was much better. In time for the ball and everything. "It does look good doesn't it!" he exclaimed happily just talking about much better it looked now that he didn't have bruises or scratches all over it. "Come on Kris." he said to his friend who was not dancing. He smiled a little, and then just grabbed both of Kris's hands in his moving them around and jumping up and down like he'd been doing. He grinned happily, encouraging as much as he could his good friend. "Just copy me, forget about everyone else" he told his friend as he let go of his hands and like before just started dancing away with not a care in the world. Avie was here to have fun with his friend. Not be bored and stand around.
