As newly appointed prefect, Chante decided to make a batch of fresh baked cookies that were in the shape of magical creatures she seen over the years. Thanks to the help of the house elves, she was able to obtain cookie cutter shapes of these creatures. The house elves were always so helpful when she needed them. With the cookie cutters in her possession, everything else worked out naturally for Chante. She made few dozens batches of these cookies and decorated them (again with the help of the house elves). Once they were cool down, Chante places them in a basket with cookie sheet paper separating them by the dozen. Chante took the basket in her arm, and floor by floor she started to offer cookies to anyone who wanted them. Of course, being so tall, Chante had to carry the basket a little bit passed her waist. Otherwise, she enjoyed handing out her cookies and saying hello to everyone. It was nice and she was 'out of shell' in a way by doing this. Chante finally arrived at the towers, slightly out of breath. She set the basket down at a nearby table and sat down to take a break. Chante fans herself with her hand and grabbed a Hippogriff shaped cookie with the other. Chante silently nibbled away the sugar cookie, feeling content for the most part.

More and more these days, Stella was finding the need to get away from Ravenclaw tower, the location that had always been so homely and comfortable to her now becoming the locus of all her discomfort as the stony silence between her and Zoe continued. Even when she was alone, or with her sister or other friends, she couldn't guarantee not seeing Zoe there, and ended up seeking other places to be, places where she could avoid that change in the air when they were in the same room together - a change which Stella was certain was almost imperceptible to anyone else, but unbearable to her. Today, she was feeling restless, and strolled down the long staircase from the tower with the vague intention of going for a walk, perhaps along the lakeshore. She would have quite liked to venture into the forest again, but with her new position as a prefect she was even more reluctant to break any rules than she had been already. On her way down, though, she caught sight of Chante, one of her fellow new prefects, with a basket of what seemed from her brief glance to be animal cookies. Stella hadn't really interacted with her before, but now might be the perfect time to start. "Hi Chante," she said, "what are you up to?" A rather lame start to a conversation, but it would do to begin something.

Chante finished up her cookie hearing distant steps getting closer. The tall girl swallows the last bite, sitting up straight as fellow prefect approach her. "H-hey, um, sorry," Chante patted away at the crumbs that fell from the cookie she had devoured. Chante picked up the basket and offered the Ravenclaw one, "Not much, made these and was giving them to anyone who wanted one." she paused. "Want one?" She offered with a sincere smile. Like their first prefect meeting they had, Chante baked cupcakes and decorated them with house colors. It was fun, but a lot of work. Baking was a lot of work. But she found out she love decorating things she baked and it was all just becoming second nature to her. Like she was born to wear that white puffy hat, the apron, and be messy wearing clumps of dough. "How are you?" Chante asks the girl. Besides lessons, Chante don't think she ever said one word to the girl. In fact, she pretty sure all that she said so far was the most they've ever said to Stella. That's how big the castle was. One can get lost before you meet someone from another house.

Stella smiled, vaguely amused by Chante's hastily clearing away crumbs. She didn't really see anything to apologise for in that; she was only eating her own cookies. "No worries," she said, glancing into the basket curiously. The cookies weren't just animals, she saw now, they were magical creatures. Stella didn't take Care of Magical Creatures, but it was one of Zoe's favourite classes, and she couldn't help a little pang as the thought struck her, but she quelled it quickly. "Oh, these are adorable, yes please." Stella took a unicorn and bit into its tail, thinking it was almost a shame to consume such well-made things. "Mmm, tasty too. Do you do a lot of baking?" She asked partially to distract from the question Chante had just asked her, once simple, now difficult to answer. Stella didn't lie, but she didn't want to burden someone she barely knew with her problems, either.

Chante cheeks lightly reddened by the compliments over her cookies. She really tries hard with them in the beginning, but then it was easy as breathing to her. "As of this year, yes. I didn't before, I was cooking before and then I switch over to baking," Chante tells Stella as if they have spoken so casually before. Talking about it was easy too when she sure about which part of baking she likes to mull over. The assembling ingredients or decorating parts were her favorites. "Cooking is fun, don't get me wrong I can whip up something good, but I like baking more," Chante further explained herself. Chante grabbed for another cookie, this time she had a fwooper one. Chante bit into it, silently chewing and enjoying her own creation. Chante noticed the girl deflecting from answering her question. It wasn't a big deal, she didn't have to say. She just wonders if she had heard or was choosing to ignore answering her. Again, she didn't have to, Chante alright just sitting here with the girl in a comfortable silence.
