Okay read from this post down then read the rest of my post. ;)

When you reply to a topic or start a topic there is the colour drop down list from which you can choose a colour to use. Well, there are more colours that work than just those. Any hexcidecimal colour (#FFFFFF and #000000 being white and black) and word HTML colours (darkmagenta, firebrick etc.) work.
Here you can say what colour(s) you want added to the drop down list followed by what you would like the dropdown list to call it (Like how I've added 'Awesome' which is darkmagenta and 'Slytherin' which is dark green.)

I will only be adding perhaps about twenty colours, but suggest all you want.
Make sure you can use the colour inside the colour BB code (
Code:
[color=whatever]
) and if the colour is more than one word (dark magenta) do not include a space or spaces (darkmagenta).

Thank you all,

~Nick

Yep it worked, Nick thanks, otherwise I would have just stuck to black, and I agree with Markus, we should have gryffinodr, hufflepuff etc

Colours and the name in the drop down list, people, not just colour names. :oy:

Like:

Name -> Colour

Awesome -> darkmagenta
Slytherin -> darkgreen

etc.

And those two I added just as examples, they're not necessarily staying.

So to clarify you want us to think of names for colours eg: Firebrick for Gryffindor??

Read my edited post above yours. ;)

Okay

Gryffindor-Firebrick
Slytherein-This
Hufflepuff- I dont know This one?
Ravenclaw- Blue?

Ones I miss.....

hotpink
firebrick
forestgreen
deeppink
midnightblue

I will edit to add more as I remember the codes for them. :D

Thanks for doing this Nick!!!

Personally, I think if we are doing it on a house basis Ravenclaw should be darkblue or midnightblue. The blue that we have now is too light in my opinion.

Hufflepuff maybe a darker orange?

I do not like the orange for Hufflepuff. I think either a yellow, or a purple. Darkmagenta, perhaps?

Would goldenrod work for Hufflepuff? :unsure:

Hmm, that's not bad. I was worried it would clash with the background but I actually like it.
(and you can change the background too, silly girl. *facepalm*)

I would not be changing the background of this skin over a colour, I can assure you of that. :p
Far too much work went into it. :p :arr:

I just realised that when I changed the skin to test it out. :r:
But yes, I do believe goldenrod works for Hufflepuff.
Grey = Death Eater? (There is probably an actual name for the grey, but 'sif I remember colour names)

I don't believe death eater is an actual colour ;) :p

*Is forced to wonder what skin Antoinette normally uses* :-?

And why are we naming colours in the dropdown list after groups of people? What's the intention behind it? :unsure:

You know, I have absolutely no idea why. Familiarity?
I use the HNZ default, but I have dodgy eyes. :o

Perhaps Professor Weiss should answer this for us; 'twas her suggestion. :oy:
I understand adding colours, but why with certain names?

Ahem. Twas I that suggested the naming of colors after the specific houses not Weiss.

The reason behind having house colors is so that when we are posting points, we are uniform in which color we use. That and I believe someone else had mentioned that he wanted to do that in a conversation I had with him. :r:

I do like having the house colors specially picked out, but those are the only ones that I feel need to be named specifically.

Meh, profs are all the same to me these days. I mix up professor lloyd and professor keller constantly :-0

Anyhow, I can tell you the colours I use for the houses for colouring names:
Gryffindor, Firebrick
Slytherin, Dark Green
Ravenclaw, Medium Blue
Hufflepuff, Dark Goldenrod

I've set up the four house names as above posted.
If people want anymore colours added to the dropdown list you can still post here, I guess.

Hmm :errm: can we have a more orangey orange like pumpkin orange? :oy:
I'm sorry I just love deep orange and the one we have is rather light!
