Lyra’s lesson plans were arranged neatly on the desk itself, and she sat on the edge of the desk, waiting for the students to arrive. The former Gryffindor rose from her desk as the students filed in, smiling kindly as the last of them settled in their seats. The brunette woman clapped her hands to get their attention. "Good morning!" she said brightly. "My name is Professor Lyra Potter, and I am going to be your professor this semester." she flicked her wand at the board so that it would write out everything she said. She wondered if any of them would make the connection between her last name and her family members.

She smiled fondly at them, eager to begin today's lesson. “Today, I would like us to go over what you’ve learned so far,” she smiled, stopping by another student. “Would you like to start us off, please? What was a charm you learned in your first year?” She smiled at the answer, praising the student and moving to the next, going through the room at random until each student had told her a charm they’d learned from the first, second, or third year, distributing varied amounts of points depending on their answers but still praising each answer she received.

When they had finished, she came to a stop in front of her desk again. “Very good! I can see you’ve all done well in these classes. If you would be so kind, turn your eyes back to the board. These are the charms we’ll be covering this semester.” She waved her hand, the chalk lifting up again to list the charms. "I would love to know what you’d like to get from this class. If you would please jot it down and turn it in on your way out. Please feel free to ask any questions on your way out.”

Lyra smiled, waving her hand and opening the door to the class before moving to sit down. “I have paper copies of your reading assignment for the semester, feel free to grab one before you go. We’ll begin our wand work next week.”

Ten wasn't taking nearly as many classes as she had while she was at Scotland, and she was more than glad for it. Instead she now only took the lessons that she thought would be of use to her, practical, help her towards her goals for the future, instead of dragging her down and burning her out on the way to end to the end of the year. Dressed in her regular Gryffindor robes, Ten headed down to her first Charms lesson of the year to be presented with a new professor. She'd seen so many at this point she wasn't sure she'd keep track, and if they were due to have another one next year too, did she even need to consider whether or not she liked this one, too?

"In first year we learned Stupefy," she answered when she was called upon, a smirk on her face as she considered the way she'd tried to use such a charm during the last years tournaments. By the time they were given their homework, Ten was tempted to give her answer once more in the form of a joke, but thought better of it. After her chat with Professor Carter, maybe she needed to be taking things a bit more seriously.

Are there any Charms that make plants go faster?

Teddy had forgotten that they would have a new Charms professor this semester until he walked into the classroom and saw said new professor. A Potter, Teddy noted, and he wondered if they were related to the famous Potter family. Teddy nodded at Ten's answer, it was a good one, then followed with a second year charm next, "Alohomora" He answered. He took down the names of the charms covered this semester and took a handout on the way out, probably the charm he was most interested in learning was the Bubble Head Charm because it sounded so cool.

Marley was happy to do lessons and classes again. She enjoyed them very much. The Hufflepuff happily made her way to her Charms classroom, wondering what sort of charms they'd be learning about this semester. When she entered the Charms classroom, she had completely forgotten that they'd be having a new professor this semester. It was a bit strange to have a different professor. Marley quickly took the same spot she had sat in the last few years and took out the things she needed for the semester, placing them on the desk in front of her, before moving her full attention towards the professor as the professor started the lesson off.

The professor started off the lesson by telling her what they had learned so far. Marley listened carefully to each thing they had said, making sure not to repeat the same thing. It wasn't long before it was Marley's turn to say her answer. "Repello" Marley says with a smile and nods before everyone else goes around the room and says their answers. It wasn't long before the professor continued on with the lesson. Marley made sure to write down everything the professor had to say, as she didn't want to miss out on anything. She also nodded along to what the professor had to say, showing she understood everything. Marley also made sure to note down what was on the board.

It wasn't long before the lesson had come to an end and they were dismissed. Marley quickly packed up her things. She says a quick and appreciative thanks and goodbye to the professor before heading out of the classroom with the rest of her friends and classmates, happy and content with what they had learnt in class today.

Audrey actually kind of missed Professor Grayveson. She was perhaps overly sweet, sure, but she was really nice and encouraging, and seemed to like her well enough in return. That was always the sticking point with professors, she felt. Certainly, Audrey knew she was clever and very good at the classwork, her grades could speak for themselves, but there were professors that seemed to get her more than others and it was always a shame when she wasn't having lessons with them anymore. Still, she'd just have to give the new professor the benefit of the doubt. When her turn came up to give a charm, she piped up with "Incendio!" having remembered all too well her need to work on it more as her first attempts had been messy. She looked a little curious at the idea of questions, because it was fourth year, so she just shrugged and packed up and left when they were dismissed.

Lucy was a bit sad that Professor Grayveson wasn't there. She liked her, and since they were now fourth years, that meant she wouldn't be taught by her ever again. It made Lucy a bit sad but she supposed it was a new day, and a new semester and she had to make the most out of it. She entered the classroom, intrigued to see what the charms professor was like. She seemed nice, but Lucy sadly wasn't chosen to answer a question. There was someone new in her class, actually. Hadn't they met before? Lucy considered this, forgetting to fully pay attention, but luckily it was only an introductory class. Lucy didn't really have anything she wanted to ask about, but took the list of spells they'd be learning eagerly. She'd have to read up on all of them - it was too exciting not to. Once the lesson ended, they were dismissed. Lucy packed up her things and left.

Elodie was glad to be back at school, though she missed Byron and their dog dearly. Sometimes she felt like they were all she had- it felt like she had a hard time connecting with anyone most days. She brushed the thought aside- she had plenty of people she was friendly with, and that was enough. She hummed softly as she got ready for class, braiding her dark hair and straightening out her uniform before heading down to class.

She took her seat near the middle, but didn't bother answering any questions. She just listened to everyone else speak, remembering the spells they brought up. Eventually, they were indeed dismissed, so she grabbed her things and headed back out again, wondering about the Charms Professor who'd left to have a baby.

Callie walked into the history of magic classroom and took her usual spot in the classroom. She glanced up at the professor as the woman got started. She nodded, thinking it make sense that they were to go over all that they had learnt so far. Callie waited for her turn and then eagerly said a spell which hadn’t yet been mentioned by anyone else. "Accio," She listened as other people went, but that appeared to be the bulk of the lesson, because once everyone had said a spell, the professor told them the spells they would be covered and then let them go. She took a copy of the reading assignment as she headed out of the room.

Enoch walked into the charms classroom and took a seat near the back of the room. He glanced up at the professor as the woman began the lesson, realising a little belatedly, once people began answering her question that this was not the usual professor, this was a different professor. He listened as spells were said, but did his best to avoid getting picked and having to say something, he didn’t want to bother with that. But the lesson wasn’t too much longer and Enoch packed up his things and headed out of the room that moment he could.

Friday walked into the charms classroom and took her usual spot in the room. She glanced towards the professor as the woman got started. She got the impression that the professor wanted them to know something about her name but she did not. She didn’t know any of it. She listened as the professor had them say spells from the last few years, and when picked did say one. "Scourgify," Though she didn’t pay much attention to know if it was a repetition of what someone else had said. Eventually the lesson was wrapped up, it hadn’t been too involved which she didn’t mind and she was able to pack up and head out of the room.

Classes were definitely the worst part of being at Hogwarts, Vanity was so not in the mood for this. She took her usual seat in the Charms classroom, frowning at the new professor who definitely seemed too excited for the job. They had to go around naming spells they had learned, Vanity decided to just name Accio until someone else did it. Ugh. She scrambled to think of something else. "Uh, Alohomora." She said when it was her turn. The professor then showed them which spells they were going to learn this semester, Vanity didn't bother writing it down. She'd copy it from someone later. She was glad when the lesson was done and made sure she was one of the first to leave the classroom.
