Open Chaperoning

[Professor Adorah Zumwalt]

Adorah didn't mind chaperoning dances. It was different with Noel by her side, but it allowed her to be more focused on the students rather than her partner. The professor was wearing another design by her sister, some light purple dress robes with ruffles and gems that changed colors within the pastel color pallette. She had thrown on a pair of heels to make herself appear taller than most of the first years and found herself a place in the Great Hall to watch from. Things were just getting started, and everyone was still arriving; the professor popped over to the beverages and grabbed herself something sweet to drink.

Yvonne was never a big fan of Valentine's day. But she had to admit since becoming a professor and seeing the excitement amongst the students had caused her to foster some fondness for it. Even if the buzzing excitement of young love made her tired. Still, chaperoning the dance was pretty fun. Especially when she approached it as a kind of anthropological study. She hovered on the edge of the crowd, keeping an eye out for any couples dancing a little too close. She grinned and approached Adorah by the drinks. It still made her head spin to consider her former students her colleges. But the were adults, no matter how old it made her feel at times. "You don't happen to have anything a little stronger do you?" she asked with a playful wink.

Adorah took a sip of her punch, watching as a first-year grasped their wand. She was deciding whether to interrupt whatever he was about to do when she was approached by a fellow professor. It took her a moment to realize Yvonne was joking. "Not in this cup," she joked back, picking up a cup of punch and offering it to Yvonne. "Did you want something to drink?" Adorah asked.

Yvonne chuckled when it took the younger professor a moment to catch on to her joke. "Too bad, could make things a bit more interesting." she teased lightly before taking the cup Adorah offered and took small sip. "Thanks." she said easily before looking out towards the students again. "Spotted any funny business yet?" she asked curiously.
