It was not the warmest time of year to be sitting outside, but Finn loved the freshness of the air. If he had a choice, he would always be outside. He hated the constraints of being inside. "Inside voice" , "No running" , "Wipe your feet" , "Stay dry" were just a couple of rules he knew of being inside. If he was outside, he could run as fast as he wanted, get as dirty as he wanted, climb whatever he wants, and be as loud as he could possibly be. He did admit being inside was a lot warmer when it was cold, but he generally liked all type of weather. Snow was the most exciting for him as he didn't get it at his hometown.
Finn had found a nice tree to lean against on the big field by the school. He was keen to get started with the classes (something he never thought he'd feel), but he knew he had to be patient as he literally could not do anything about it. The young Gryffindor had already done quite a bit of exploring so he took his paper and pencil and began mucking around with some drawings. He wasn't the best drawer but he enjoyed drawing cartoons. He had progressed from just coping already made cartoons to making up his own cartoons. He loved drawing cartoon animals because they were so much easier than people. But he was starting to learn how to draw the different shapes of people. Luckily, they didn't have to be realistic, because Finn sucked at drawing realism. Humming to himself, Finn continued drawing his own cartoons, having a battle with already-made cartoons. He had a feeling his cartoons would totally win.

Avie was having an absolute blast. Aside from a slightly strange winter break, that had been filled with little cryptic conversations, long words and just confusing things. Avie had had a blast. he'd gotten a new box for his rocks. He'd played a lot with Casper, his dog. Well the family dog, but it had mostly been his. They run around in circles for hours on end. Avie had just had a blast. He'd watched cartoons, and despite supposedly having to share a room with his cousins, since his eldest cousin now had a girlfriend who stayed round pretty often, both him and his other cousin had stay in the living room. He'd spent a good many nights curled up on the floor at the foot of the bed, with Casper as a help for warmth. But, like always Avie was never bothered by things that might've bothered others. He was not worrying about it. He was ready for the new year. And well, that to him meant that he was heading outside. He'd always loved the winter. He liked the coldness more than others did. So, it was why despite the cold air, he'd found himself outside. Rather than reading up on the new classes he had that semester, he was just ready to get started and have a little bit of fun. He didn't care much for the classes. He didn't care about them at all. He tried, and with Ciro's help he was perhaps learning how to read and write a little better. But it was slow.

Now that he was out on the ground, Avie was trying to find something to do. He didn't have his dog with him, so it wasn't like he had that. He didn't have anything of that sort to mess around with, so he was feeling a little lonely, which was a feeling the boy didn't get all too often, but he had it currently. Avie wondered if he should send an owl to Kris, Marcel or even Emily. But he didn't want to annoy them, and the thought of having to write something scared him slightly. He knew soon he'd have to start doing things like that, but he couldn't. As he wondered around he spotted a tree. Most people sat underneath it, or whatever, but Avie wasn't exactly most people, he ran to it, and didn't stop when he got to it. He just climbed up, with a little difficulty. But, soon found himself up the tree, it was only as he looked out that he noticed sat on the opposite side was a younger student. He wondered if this boy had heard him. He was going to ask, when he realised the boy was drawing cartoons. Avie tried to get closer, to see better. "Your cartoons are awesome" He said, leaning over the branch to see better. Forgetting to speak at a normal tone, or that the other boy probably didn't know he was there. He was just leaning out of the tree looking at the pictures, thinking that there was nothing strange about what he was doing.
