Beauxbatons Quidditch Practice Y37 S2

(=)))

Sophia joins in the laughter, haunch over for a second in midair. "Yes! Exactly like that. Oui! Perfect," she collects herself and nodded enthusiastically. "Let's keep going! Play like that and we will win against New Zealand!"

(Whoops, click the wrong button.)

Aramis glanced over when Sophia called time, giving Hugo a thumbs up when she announced that she'd be switching to chaser. Hugo naturally took that idea and apparently ran with it, scooping up the snitch shortly after. Aramis gave his friend a cheer before checking to see who had the quaffle.

Gemma heard the bludger before she saw it and quickly turned to meet it. She had meant to aim it at one of the chasers but it had a mind of it's own and sailed directly at Aramis. "Sorry!" she shouted as it made contact. Normally she didn't feel that bad when she hit people since it was all part of the game, but Aramis was the only one who was perpetually out of the way. @Aramis Faroe

Gaby had caught the quaffle after Édelie’s shot went wide, determined to do better as she flew off with it. Especially when not too long after Sophia called out she’d be substituting as a chaser since one of their other teammates hadn’t showed up.

Édelie saw that Gaby had the quaffle but held back when Sophia said she'd be coming in to assist. She knew it was to try and be helpful, but it did make her feel like they were just doing terribly today.

Aramis was keeping his eyes on Gaby and the quaffle even if he wasn't moving much. Apparently that made him a sitting duck for bludgers though, as Aramis was completely blind sided by Gemma's hit. His broom spun with the momentum, the resulting dizziness almost as bad the pain from the hit and Aramis did his best to get his wits about him before the chasers got much closer.

Hugo was pretty proud of his snitch catch, and he let it go and followed it for a bit until it disappeared. He hoped he could catch it again before practice was over.

Gaby circled back to the hoops, wincing when she noticed Aramis get hit with a bludger on her way there. She threw the quaffle at the hoops, now getting annoyed when it sailed just past the hoop rather than through. Things just did not want to work out today and she looked at Édelie to see if she was feeling as disappointed in how they had been doing today as she was.

Sophia sped up and caught the quaffle from Armais.

"You'll get it Gabs! Don't stop, keep playing," Sophia shouts and dash around the pitch with the quaffle tucked under her arm. This was either going to be good or bad her switching position. Either way, it's going to be interesting.

Still trying to recover from the bludger, Aramis wasn't even close to blocking Gaby's shot. It went wide though, and he let out a relieved breath, grabbing the quaffle and throwing it back out to Sophia. He was curious if she'd have any better luck than Gaby or Édelie. They definitely had more practice as chasers, but she was an unknown element when it came to blocking her, so Aramis should probably pay attention.

Édelie sighed when Gaby again didn't score and wondered if Sophia would have any better luck. Even if she wasn't actually a chaser.

Gemma was getting frustrated. The harder she tried the bigger mistakes she seemed to be making. She decided to focus on guarding Hugo. At least that would make her feel like she was doing something.

Gaby smiled at Sophia’s encouragement, although she almost started to wonder if she had just been having beginner’s luck at the start of the season. She followed along, wondering if the girl not being a chaser would make her have more of an element of surprise to her actions.

Sophia edge closer towards the hoops and in the moment of stopping and trying to score, she fumbled with the quaffle and let it drop.

"No!"

Sophia felt her face grow warm briefly, then shook it off. Keep playing, no time to be disappointed.

Édelie hoped Sophia would be able to score and was a little disappointed when she didn't. But at least it was on par for how well the chasers were doing today. She claimed the quaffle as it was thrown back in and looped around, hoping to get at least one score in today.

Aramis sat up a bit straighter as Sophia approached, ready to move if he needed to block. It was a bit anticlimactic when she ended up just fumbling the quaffle, and Aramis tried not to laugh as he flew down to scoop it back up, passing it back out to Édelie.

Gemma was doing her best to keep an eye out for bludgers heading Hugo's way and quickly went to meet one she saw coming their way. She tried to aim it for Edelie who had the quaffle and was moving fast. But she missed and hit Gabrielle instead. @Gabrielle Perrault

Gaby had sort of hoped Sophia would’ve found a way to score. It would’ve been something to bring them a laugh at least. She followed after Édelie when the other chaser caught the quaffle, staying right on her tail. Untill she got hit with a second bludger to the side. The pain automatically slowed her down and caused that of the previous hit to flare up again as well. Today really wasn’t her day at all.

Sophia didn't let her fumbling slow her down. She's observed many games before, she should know what to do with her hands at least. "Aramis, do you have an invisible shield up or something!? Don't look to smug, we might not get you, but these bludgers will," she teased.

Édelie tried to go ahead and score, figuring at this point that she could take all the opportunities she had. Unfortunately, she was blocked again. She was so focused on scaring that she barely noticed Gaby get hit with a bludger. The girl wished the practice would just be over at this point.

Gemma wasn't letting up with the bludgers today, knocking one into Gaby mercilessly. At least Aramis knew Édelie wasn't going to pass to her, and Sophia was too busy teasing him to catch a quaffle, so that left only one person to worry about scoring. He just shrugged as he knocked Édelie's shot aside, grabbing it with his other hand to throw back out. "Gotta make you guys work for it, sorry," He said easily, settling back on his broom.

Gemma felt a little bad for the chasers and their lack of luck getting any quaffles past Aramis. And because she had hit a few of them already this practice. But now she was back hovering around Hugo waiting for a bludger to show itself.

Édelie was frustrated. It was great for Aramis and all, but this did not bode well for their game. Hopefully they could at least catch the seeker before the other team.

Sophia wasn't complaining, she just hope that was the same case in their next matchup. Leaning forward she caught the quaffle, Sophia signals to the other chasers.

Sophia had the quaffle again and Aramis shifted slightly on his broom. It was easy to lean back and wait when it was the chasers he was used to, but she was still an unknown element as a chaser so Aramis could do with paying a bit more attention.
