Leonardo wanted to send a owl home to his grandfather, but his grandfather's owl's that was technically was his, hated him. So Leonardo was stood in front of the owl, letter in hand, trying to get the bird to stop clawing at him whenever he reached towards. "Come on, please,"

Lysander brought Fuzzfeathers to the owlery to socialise with some of the other birds. He saw a boy struggling with one of the owls and couldn't help but chuckle lightly. "Do you need a hand?" He asked as he set his own owl down on a perch.

"Yes please," Leonardo said greatfully, "The owl hates me," he moved his arm slightly to show the healing scratch from a week before when he'd last tried to send a letter.

"Ouch." Lysander said when he saw the scratch. He rummaged for some treats and handed a couple to the boy. "Try one of these." He said, and pointed at the owl. "Is it yours?" He asked.

Leonardo took the treat, "I have tried this in the past...it's my grandfather's owl," Leo wondered if that was why the owl didn't like him.

Lysander frowned slightly. "Has it always acted like this to you?" He asked, wondering if he'd done something to upset it enough to hold a grudge this long.

Leonardo nodded, "It's been worse since he's been coming to school with me," Leo and the owl had never got along, but it seemed to get worse while at school.

It was sad to hear that was the case. "He might be missing your grandfather?" Lysander suggested. "Do you have anything of his? Owls don't have a sense of smell, but if he sees something he recognizes your grandfather owned, it could help." He offered. "Or I could always turn your hair grey, try make you look more like him."

Leonardo looked at the owl and frowned. Was that it....did the bird just miss his grandfather...He looked at the older boy. "How long would the grey hair last?" he didn't have anything of his grandfather's so that was the only option.

Lysander pursed his lips while he thought about it. "I guess it sorta depends. If I transfigure it, it'll probably stay that way until it grows out. If I charm it then I dunno, a few hours, maybe a few days? Either way I could change it back whenever." He guessed.

"Charm then...and if it's still there by tomorrow I can come find you?" He said. if this didn't work he would just need to deal with the pain.

Lysander nodded in agreement and pulled out his wand. It was probably a long shot but it was worth a try. He waved it toward the boy and used a colour changing charm to change the blonde to a much more elderly grey. "There, that might do it?"

leonardo couldn't see what his hair now looked, but he shot the older boy a quick look before slowly approaching the owl, it seemed to setlle a little bit more. he was tentative in his approach and then was actually able to attach the letter. "Go to granddad," he told the owl, and it left.

Lysander watched the interaction with bated breath. When the owl accepted the letter and took off, he broke out into a grin, and gave the younger boy an enthusiastic, congratulatory pat on the back. "There you go! That's progress. You just need to get yourself a wig and you're set."

Leonardo nodded, "Thank you," he thanked him.
