Professor Kingsley very much enjoyed her breaks. She liked being able to enjoy her home and her children and the small reprieve from lessons. She was never truly free from lecturing, she had teenagers and a young daughter, after all, but there were breaks here and there. The woman had some music playing in her kitchen as she continued to work on baking cookies. It had felt like just the thing to do when she'd felt the chill in the air when she'd left her bed earlier that day. She had invited her colleague to come with her children for the day, eager to share the day with the woman. Her note had been on Cyndi's mind since she'd received it, and she was still just as touched by the message.
The woman finally put the second tray in the oven, and then wiped her hands on her apron as she settled into one of the chairs at her dining room table. She hummed to the song on the radio, glancing towards the living room at Jacob and Eleanor as they played a game of gobstones. Jacob seemed to be winning because she could hear him cackle every now and then and Eleanor threaten to quit.
