"Over here for Assassin! You really don't have long now, come on." Geo was shouting out across the student lounge, standing on top of a table that she'd pushed up against the wall upon which a large chalkboard was hung. She'd added the names of those that had volunteered to sign up, and had taken the liberty of even adding in a small house tribute drawing. After spending the last couple of weeks inviting students to try out in a new game that would take place in the school, she'd let everyone participating know that they were due to meet there that afternoon, and the Hufflepuff would be giving out their first targets before they were free to cause whatever havoc felt appropriate in order to win.

When it looked as though everyone was here, she counted to make sure the thirty students that had signed up were present. She didn't want the game to get off to a bad start by having a player absent, as the small slips of paper that were in the cauldron in her arms wouldn't add up correctly and they'd have to start again. "Okay, welcome to Assassin." She grinned at their little crowd, glad that so many people had been interested. "Everyone needs to take one of these slips," she began to explain, pulling out a folded up piece of paper with a name on it. "Keep it very secret - If someone is aware that you're targeting them you'll have a tougher job of creeping up on them." Once the names had been given out, the Hufflepuff turned to the board behind her. "If you're eliminated from the game you will moved across the board. Last person remaining on the "Players" side of the board wins," she clarified, making sure everyone knew how the game would work. Removing her wand from the pocket of her jeans, she raised it in the air. "To assassinate a player, you will need to cast Lumos, and tap your victim while the spell is in play. If you're assassinated you need to let me know so I can update the list!" Geo's wand lit up as she was talking, and she motioned that everyone should do the same to ensure that no student would be unable to cast the simple spell. They had both experienced students and new first years, and Geo had tried to incorporate as many of them as possible.

"Whoever is crowned the winner will receive the goodybag." She added, motioning to the secret contents of a sparkly bag on the table that she'd spent more time than she wanted to admit putting together with the help of a friend. "Lastly, please remember that you can't be eliminated in a safe room. This includes the library, house common rooms, dormitories, and lessons, because that just wouldn't be fair."

As the light on her wand faded, she returned it to her pocket before glancing at her watch. "Right, well, you have two minutes and.. fourty seconds before the game begins, and so if I were you I'd scatter sooner rather than later because this isn't a safe room." She grinned back at the group, dismissing them. "Good Luck!" She finished, before jumping down off the table, wondering who was going to be the first player to be eliminated.

While trying not to make things too complicated, I've also now added in a second column in the table below that will note whether that character has been active or not in regards to Assassin. If you're active, you are safe from being eliminated at the weekly reset (Which is 7pm every Monday, the same time this post was started). You can still be eliminated by your assassin, this is regarding activity only as it makes it a little easier for me to keep track! If you believe your character is incorrectly set as inactive, please shoot me a message. Thank you!

This assassin game was right up Phoebe's alley, and she had to admit it was a really cool idea of Geo that she sort of wished she'd had herself first. But if she had, she wouldn't have been able to participate. There was quite a large group, and Phoebe gave Geo an encouraging grin. She took a slip of paper and immediately put it in her pocket, she would look at it later when there was no one around to look over her shoulder. Phoebe was a very competitive person, and she knew she was going to win this. That goody-bag would be hers. She listened to Geo repeat the rules, and then headed out of the room to get a head start. She would read who her target was somewhere private, and then go look for them.

April was psyched for this game, and loved seeing all the different people that signed up. Kauri had, as well as Ethan who she knew from the Quidditch team. She bounced on her feet as she waited for Geo to tell them it was starting, grinning brightly. This was going to be fun, and she had a feeling she was going to win. She took a scrap of paper, reading who her target was before crumpling it up and stuffing it in her pocket. She determinedly only looked at Geo, not glancing at anyone else in case they thought they were her target. Once Geo explained the rule and told them it had started, April whooped before running out of the room. This was going to be excellent.

If there was one thing Domi could never say no to, it was a good game. Assassin sounded like fun, a good way to get to know people around the school, and great motivation to keep her own reflexes sharp. She had signed up eagerly, joining the rest of the group listening to the girl who had organised the game. When she was given her target Domi looked it over carefully, trying to remember what that person looked like. Looking around the group, Domi couldn't hold back a grin, sprinting out of the room with the rest of the players. She knew this was going to be fun...

Corrine was trying this whole being more active thing. It hadn't worked out so well for her during that meeting, though she'd heard that she had missed quite the fireworks by ducking out early. She hoped this attempt at being involved would go better or she'd just stick to what she had done the first three years of her schooling, retreat to her common room and simply attend lessons and little else. It hardly seemed a life, but neither did constantly arguing.

The instructions weren't the easiest to understand but by the end, she thought she might be getting it. She unfurled the slip in her hand and spotted a name, her eyebrows rose. With a grin towards the people standing nearest her, she allowed herself to be captured by the excitement and jogged off with the others. "Good luck" she called out to no one in particular. They'd all need it though. She planned on winning.

Fleur was excited for this game she had signed up for, it sounded like it would be a lot of fun. Especially the idea that targets could be 'assassinated' nearly everywhere made her giddy, as it would probably result in some pretty awesome situations. She vaguely knew the older Hufflepuff that organized this, she mostly remembered her from the talk with the dragon tamer at the career fair earlier this year. She hadn't been too sure about her then, but now figured she must be fairly cool. Once she was done explaining and handing out the targets, Fleur left the room with a smile. She didn't think she would win, but she was sure she was going to have a blast.

Sara was excited to be participating in Assassin, a game she didn't know that much about but knew the basics. She was eager to get to know the people who signed up, not to mention her cousin was here too! It made it all the more exciting. She highly doubted her target would be the first year. Sara arrived to the room and smiled at Geo as she explained the rules to everyone, the Slytherin nodding in understanding. She received a slip and when the game began Sara was the first one out of the room, and in search of her target. She vaguely knew the person, hopefully well enough to find them. She carefully walked around the school with a smile on her face. This was going to be fun.

Lavinia couldn't stop showing her excitement as she talked to Sara about the game they had both signed up for. The girls entered the room and although there were quite a few students older than her the Hufflepuff didn't feel intimidated. If anything, it brightened her spirits. She took a slip from her housemate also known as Sara's friend and went to stand with her older cousin in a section of the room, so she could listen to the rules. Once everything was explained, it was pretty simple really, nothing to be confused about, Lavinia ushered out of the room, not wanting to be eliminated before she'd even get the chance to play, meet new people.
