Each year, Irene Finch represented the Ministry in coming to the school to give the students the tools they would need to pass their apparition exam. As part of that agreement, the Headmistress was kind enough to remove all the tables in the Great Hall. "Good afternoon, sixth years. My name is Irene Finch and I'm here on behalf of the Department of Magical Transportation to prepare you for your apparition exam." Irene paced the front as she spoke. "Headmistress King has been kind enough to lift the enchantment placed on this room so that you will be able to practice apparating within these walls for the duration of our lessons."

Her voice echoed throughout the room. With so few students and no furniture inside of it, her voice carried easily. The woman looked at a student in the front, her blue eyes piercing into the student. "I will warn you from the start that your ability to apparate will have little to do with what house you are in or your blood status. Your ability to apparate will, however, depend on your ability to focus on the three Ds: Destination.Determination. Deliberation." She enunciated each word. "If you fail to understand these concepts, you will fail your exam. First, you must choose your destination. Next, you will focus your determination and once you feel you are ready..." With a small step, Irene apparated next to one of the sixth years who had been whispering while she was lecturing and continued, "you must move with deliberation like so." She gave the student a sharp look.

Moving towards the front of the room, Irene continued lecturing the students. She knew that some were probably expecting to apparate today but she also knew that the foundation for apparating started with this information. Soon enough their time was up, and they had done nothing but listen. "Don't forget the 3 Ds and I will see you all next time. A word to the wise: Don't bring anything with you to the next lesson. The less you carry, the easier it will be. If you have any questions, I can remain for a few moments to answer them." She smiled briefly, her attempt at appearing warm and inviting. Holding up a hand, Irene asked them for their attention once more. In a warning tone, she told them "And, just as a reminder...the moment you step out of this room, the enchantment will be put back in place until next time we meet. It would be very, very unwise to consider apparating anywhere on the school grounds until then." With that, she dismissed the students and began to gather up her things so that she could get back to the office.

RP the lesson. Nothing fancy is necessary, but remember that these lessons are so that your student can earn a license. This is just the first of only three lessons before the exam takes place.Apparition,6,1

Pia was excited for these apparation lessons as she knew apparation was both an economic and generally useful means of transportation for wizards. She also knew that her other brother, Ignacio and her older sister, Valentina utilized apparation in their daily lives so she was in turn ready to learn how to apparate herself and give her siblings a run for their money. It would be interesting indeed to learn how to apparate and that was the sole reason Pia showed up early to the class and why she sat in clear view and within clear earshot of the teacher; so she could make the most of the class while it was being taught because she didn't want to miss a thing.

She propped her head up with her hand and nodded along with everything the teacher said while refraining from taking notes despite how much she wanted to. As the three D's were mentioned, Destination, Determination and Deliberation, Pia repeated them in her head, attempting to memorize them as she payed attention to the teacher as they apparated in front of another student. That action caused Pia to smile, distracting her momentarily before she returned her full attention to the lesson. She noted in her mind not to bring anything to the next lesson and kept repeating the three D's in her mind as she retied her red hair before leaving the class as it was dismissed. Hopefully, if she memorized the three D's and knew them like the back of her hand by the next lesson, she could attempt to apparate or at least learn something more about how to apparate because failing or choking when it was time to take the wasn't an option for the Chilean.

Isaiah had a lot of things to worry about, sixth year was about to get a whole lot more difficult this semester, although he was very much looking forward to it, the teen had been busy ever since getting back to the school he had been on the quidditch pitch getting himself and his team ready for what awaited them in this up coming game. He was more than sure that they would manage just fine, he was hopeful for a victory but his young, small team wasn't going to do well in this first year, but he knew he just had to continue working at it, continue helping them and though he didn't think that in his time they would win anything, he was still very hopeful of a victory and was training hard on the off chance they might get it, but he knew that it would probably be very hard. The boy did have other things to worry about, mainly the fact that he had a whole bunch of classes, the start of the new semester always meant he had more to do. He was just finished getting ready for the day and then left the room, walking straight out and to the class he needed.

Isaiah stepped into the Great Hall, he was very excited for this, he couldn't wait to learn everything about apparition, it was going to be amazing, he had been looking forward to it for ages. The teen stepped into the room and found himself a spot where he could see the teacher. It was not a usual professor, rather just someone he had never seen before in his life. The teen smiled a little as the professor got started, explaining to them who she was, he didn't think they were going to be learning anything other than theory and he was more than happy to be correct. He nodded as she spoke, making small notes in his head about the three D's, looking forward to revising and then hopefully getting it on the first time that he tried it. The teen was hardly surprised that the lesson came to an end shortly after, considering he hadn't had to sit down or write anything out he then just turned and walked out the room.

Orwell was excited for this term, being back in his community always helped him focus, and he was definitely pleased to just sit within the nature that his community was surrounded by. The whole kayleigh mess as he was calling it had weighed heavily on his mind, and he'd just enjoyed the simplicity of arguing about politics and not celebrating either his birthday or christmas. The teen got back to school feeling a little more refreshed and a little more focused, he hadn't told anyone about the animagus training he was having, of course not, he was pretty close to getting it too. The teen hated the lessons, mostly because he hated the professor but it would be fine, he knew he was pretty close to no longer needing them. On that day, he got himself together and then packed his bag for the day, he had plans to go to the gardens, since he was helping in producing more roses for various events that were coming up for school. That was his plans for after, every day that week, but for now he just made sure he had what he needed and left for class.

Orwell had been eager to learn apparition, it was a part of the community he would've gotten to do, though most did not leave, it was still a viable mode of transport that didn't affect the environment and was good for people like them to pass. Orwell was therefore eager to do it, he had watched others he'd known complete it, he'd been eager to try and now he was finally learning. There was a large part of him that was very nervous about what this might be like, or how wrong it could go, but he was feeling eager to start. The teen arrived in the room and easy spotted Pia, he wandered over and greeted her warmly before turning his attention to the woman at the front. He nodded along with what they were told, remembering the way the older kids from his community had been taught, it was an incredibly similar lecture. Though this time around he was paying close attention. He smiled as they were told the three D's and a little disappointed come the end of the lesson that they weren't going to be able to try it. But that would be for the next lesson. He happily grabbed Archie before leaving the room.

Ailsa was glad to be back at school, though her NEWT year was proving difficult, she had narrowed her classes down that meant that she had a much lighter course load and this was definitely a good thing, something that she was definitely pleased about. The teen had more time to focus on what matter, less nights spent up at all hours. She still spent most of her time with Logan, and this was always good, she was proud of far he'd come. She had more time for quidditch which she was more than happy about and it was nice to just have time to relax. The brunette was happy with how the last semester had gone and was holding out for a similar result in this semester. If anything she was just finally getting into a good routine that actually worked rather than just being up at all hours. The teen was feeling pretty happy, and therefore getting ready for classes that morning had been an easy process, she had put the books into her bags, gathering what she would need for the lesson of the day and then being able to leave with plenty time.

The lesson of the day was apparition and she was more than a little excited about this, knowing how much fun it was going to be. She was sure that it would be tricky, and the thought of splinching oneself was enough to make her shudder, but she was hopeful to not do that. The teen smiled to herself as she found herself a spot in the hall and then looked to the front of the room. She was feeling pretty eager to just get started, but by the professor's mannerisms she assumed they wouldn't be doing much. She was pretty happy when the professor got started, explaining how it was done and she listened along with ease, nodding along to what was being said. However, given that they were only learning the theory it didn't take long before the lesson was dismissed and when it was, Ailsa left the room, heading out the great hall.

Archie had apparated before alongside his mother and his sisters so it wasn't an unfamiliar concept to him. Though what was unfamiliar, was learning to apparate all by himself. He had a short attention span at the best of times and he did know apparation required much more than a short attention span to be possible. Archie was of course, determined to see the lessons through but that did not mean he would be able to apparate by the end of them nor did it mean he would pass the exam. The attention span he had plagued him at the most inopportune moments and it wouldn't be a surprise if these lessons were no exception.

Archie entered the great hall following close behind Orwell. As he sat down he looked between Orwell and the person he didn't recognize who later introduced themselves as the teacher. He did his best to pay attention to the lesson, specifically the three D's though that did raise a giggle in him because of his immaturity. Throughout the lesson Archie nudged Orwell's side gently as he giggled at the D's. He evidently wasn't paying as much attention as he should have and it showed when the teacher apparated right by his side. It startled him, causing him to gasp and move a hand to his chest from the shock though he quickly recovered and returned to paying attention to the rest of the lesson even if it would be in vain. As the class was dismissed Archie followed Orwell and hoped the next apparation lesson would be less boring and would require something more practical as that was where Archie excelled. He could only listen and sit still for so long before he got bored.

It was the first week, and Carlotta was entering the first class that had actually had her nervous. The Hufflepuff’s only experience with apparition was apparating with others that had been apparating for years before she was born. Apparition was something that required a lot of concentration, to her understanding, and that made the Hufflepuff slightly more comfortable. Like most, she didn’t appreciate dealing with the unknown, especially when this particular unknown could lead her to leaving a physical part of herself behind (which was bad enough to give her nightmares). It was nice to be out from behind a desk, though, so the Hufflepuff tried to stick with the positives. They were doing something awesome and useful.

Carlotta listened intently as their instructor told them to remember the three D’s. It couldn’t be that complicated. The young woman felt she had a marvellous imagination and memory. She made it very clear to exclude house rivalry or blood prejudice, which made her wonder if there had been incidents in the past. Destination. Determination. Deliberation. She repeated it mentally, and under her breath, several times just for practise as she considered the importance of each one. She would be taking her physical form from here, to over there, without much of an inbetween. It was pretty cool, and certainly unique. Like vanishing and conjuring. She hoped that, one day, she could apparate with as much ease as Ms. Finch had.

Carlotta had hoped that they would have more than just a lecture, but realistically, she liked not being pushed to apparate so soon. She did not want to splinch herself at all, and whilst she felt like she was prepared enough to think about apparating, she wanted more time to get into the swing of thinking of moving like that before she actually did it. The ‘puff gave the woman a small smile once she had finished the lecture, and she heeded her warning – don’t bring too much. Carlotta was planning to bring nothing but the essential.
