Apparition,6,3Before the end of the lesson, Irene Finch hoped that all of the students would succeed in apparating to their target. She knew that wouldn't be the case, but the pressure was on for the students. This was the last practice after all. Several of the students had managed to apparate during the last lesson, but that didn't always translate to success at the exam.

Irene addressed the small group of sixth years. "Today, we will resume practicing" she began, her icy blue eyes staring at each of the students in turn as she spoke. "I am hopeful that those of you who weren't able to apparate last week will do so this week. The next time we meet will be your exam and you will only get one opportunity to succeed or fail. Your test will require you to be accurate when you apparate." She let that sink in before continuing on.

"Line up beside me please." It didn't take them long to queue up. "Alright...I'd like you all to attempt apparating from this end of the Great Hall to that end" she said, pointing towards the doors of the Great Hall. "The red X marks the spot" she added, knowing that they had probably noticed an X etched onto the floor with magic as they walked in. Glancing at all the students beside her, she hoped there would be no splinchings today, though she had asked for one of the school nurses to join them once again. "You can begin whenever you're ready" she said to the student who was first in line. "As soon as you feel comfortable, you may leave. But, please do remember that this is your final opportunity to practice before your exam." They were adults by wizarding standards or close enough anyway, so she wasn't going to force any of them to stay. It was in their best interests to take advantage of the time provided to them though.

Practice attempting to apparate one by one. Practice as many times as you'd like. Please warn me via PM if you plan on splinching.

Sianna was looking forward to finishing up this semester, she was kept busy with both her classes and her accio duties, which of course took up a large chunk of her time, given how later in the semester and how soon that book needed to be released, it was always a made rush to the end to ensure it got done, but it always did get done. It was the part of hogwarts that Sianna was most proud of, not just because of her involvement in it, which obviously made it amazing, but because it was just the one thing that would always live on at school. She could look at the old accio books as other people down the line would look at the ones she had worked on. It was just all a story that told the history of this great school. Sianna however was working hard because of the fact she had to manage this, and her NEWT classes, certainly working on the yearbook had been simpler when she hadn’t had as many important classes and exams to worry about. She was putting the last few books into her bag with her notes before leaving the room and heading to class.

Sianna walked into the great hall, her shoulders back and her head held high. She knew that they would be able to apparate and this was the last lesson before the exam. The lesson she needed to be able to do it in. She had managed it in the last lesson, but there had been some time, and though she was sure she would still have it, she wanted to be sure of herself. The risk of splinching any part of her was enough to sianna a little worried about it. She looked towards the professor as the woman began speaking again. They would be practicing again of course, and certainly she'd need it, if the exam was as difficult as the teacher was making it out to be. You had to be perfect, it was a good thing that Sianna only did perfect. She looked at the red mark on the group away from them, and knew what they'd need to do. Sianna stepped to the front of the line, wanting to go first, thinking it might increase her chances of being able to do it again. She walked up to the stop where the professor had showed them to start and looked towards the red cross at the other side of the room. She had the destination in her mind, she was determined to show that she could do this in front of everyone else in this class, in her year group. it took a few moments, though less time than the weeks before and in a small crack, she'd apparated to the other side of the room, not a finger out of place. She joined the end of the line, and watched as others did it. She felt comfortable in having down it, comfortable in thinking she'd certainly manage it when the exam came, but she wouldn't pass up an opportunity to try again, which she was able to get. Sianna left the hall confident, knowing she'd do well in the exam.

Ares had another few weeks before his next quidditch game and while he was looking forward to it now that the pressure had somewhat pulled back, it would be important to win the next one but it was unlike to help their overall chances of winning. The teen was happily back in his usual routine when it was between games. When he didn’t have to dedicate as much time to quidditch as he would’ve otherwise needed to if they were just before a game, which definitely made things a little simpler for him. The Hufflepuff was just finishing off the essay he needed to have done before getting himself ready for class. It wasn’t his best work, but it would suffice for the class. He would have to put in more work in other places to pull up the grade but he was sure he could manage it. Ares got himself dressed in his uniform and then got his school bag together, packing in the homework, utensils and books, making sure he had everything he would need for the day. For once choosing to not take his quidditch things, since he didn’t need to. With that he left the dorm room, rushing to the first class of the day.

Ares had been looking forward to the last apparition class before the exam. He had however expected that they would be doing the same as the previous lesson, but it very quickly became apparent that they wouldn't be. They would be moving across the room the the red cross, with the entire year group watching as they did so. Ares who had only managed it the once in the prior class had been eager to just try again, slowly in his own time in front of no one, but he guessed they'd have to be able to do apparition whenever necessary so there might occasionally be people watching. The boy ran a hand through his hair, and waited until several other people had gone before he stepped up. The boy stood where others before him hand stood and stared down at the red cross. He cleared his mind, and focused on getting there. He remembered how it had felt before and began looking for that sensation, until it was clear that was distracting him. He focused hard again, knowing he was taking his time, and there after more than a few moments he felt it. Leaned into it and was over to the red cross in a flash. It was really such a quick process. He managed to get a second practice after everyone else had gone, and that time, he took even less time to do it. So there was improvement, but he wasn't sure he'd be ready for the exam.

Zared had been looking forward to the next break since getting to hogwarts, and he couldn’t help this, it was just knowing what he would get to do when school ended was going to be perfect. He had so many plans, he knew that he would have to ask his parents for some money to buy a place in New Zealand, that he and Elysia could live in, though they were young and could still live with their parents until they graduated, Zared didn’t want that, he wanted to live with his fiance, soon to be his wife. He couldn’t imagine anything better than them spending the winter break hanging out together privately and just enjoying each others company in a way they hadn’t been able to do in a while. The boy was therefore kept quite busy between that and the exams he had that he didn’t get much time to just relax, which did suit him, if he was busy he didn’t need to worry about anything else. He could kept moving forward focusing on other things and eventually he would be to just put plans in action. Zared was getting himself ready for the day, putting the books he had into his bag, and placing all the other things he would need to be able to face day before heading out of the dorm.

After having managed to apparate in the last lesson, the teen was rather looking forward to the prospect of being able to try his hand at apparating again, at least he would get one more opportunity for it before the exam. That would be the best thing. The boy walked into the room, and stood beside Elysia in amongst the crowd of students. He didn't like what they'd be doing that lesson, he could apparate but he didn't want to show that in front of everyone else. The boy hadn't been all that confident when it came to doing things in front of large groups before he certainly wouldn't be good now. The teen watched as others went up to do it and eventually it was his turn. He walked up to the front where the professor was telling them to start and looked over at the X on the other side. He blanked out the rest of the students, and just focused on where he needed to go. Where he needed to end up. The rest didn't matter just him getting there, that was all that was important. He focused and concentrated and was able to in a few short moment apparate across. The boy felt comfortable and confident in his abilities and so he just waited for Elysia and then left the room.

Eleanor was not looking forward to her next Apparition lesson after the failure from her last one. Nonetheless, Ellie waited outside the Great Hall with the rest of the class, knowing that if she wanted to get better she had to gain a bit more confidence and determination. When instructed, she followed the class inside and waited to see what they would be doing. The thought of apparating across the whole room was a bit daunting, especially since she couldn't even apparate in front of her. With not so much doubt, Ellie lined up with the rest of the class and when instructed she closed her eyes and thought very carefully about the three Ds, imagining herself appearing suddenly on the other side of the room. It took much longer than the rest of the class for Ellie to finally find herself doing just that, and when she opened her eyes she could barely believe it. There wasn't enough time for her to try again however, but she was just glad that she finally accomplished it. When instructed, the prefect left the great hall much happier than she did last lesson.

As Lilyanna made her way up to the great hall from the dungeons she was anticipating the moment she would not have to take apparition anymore. It was a pointless subject and Lilyanna believed that you should only take it if you wanted to, much like the other subjects offered to the sixth years. With a sigh, Lilyanna stood around with the class until they were told to go in and she followed the students to where they needed to be as the person from the Ministry told them what they were to do. The Slytherin lined up with everyone else, watching as people easily apparated to the other side where the big cross was. When it was Lilyanna's turn, she closed her eyes and cleared her mind, forgetting what she was supposed to be doing until the last minute. The three D's were easy to remember and in no time Lilyanna was across the great hall. She was not exactly on top of the cross but it was good enough and Lilyanna was allowed to leave at the end of the lesson.

When Eva had managed to apparate last lesson her mood towards apparition had changed slightly, if only she felt slightly less nervous about getting it right. The pressure was still there, however. She entered the Great Hall, listening to the woman from the Ministry as she told them what to do. Eva wanted to do even better than last time so she was paying careful attention to her. Everyone would be watching her while she would attempt to apparate on that red X, but she realised at this point she didn't care what others thought anymore. When it was her turn, Eva shut her eyes closed and thought of nothing but the three D‘s. She cracked open an eye when she thought something had changed, but it hadn't. She tried again, but still nothing. She sighed, frustrated and went to the back of the line. She was going to try this until she got it perfectly. She didn't understand, last lesson she had done better. When she stood in the front of the line once more, Eva tried again. She heard a small pop and she opened her eyes slowly. Yes! She was exactly on the spot she needed to be. Pleased with herself, and very relieved, Eva thanked the Ministry person before she made her way out of the Great Hall.

Leo was happy that the semester was close to ending, but his siblings were graduating and it made him sad to think he wouldn't be seeing them as often anymore. He had to concentrate on his studies for the moment however so as he entered the Great Hall he tried not to let his mind wander too much. Last lesson had been okay, he could improve but at least he had apparated by the end of the lesson. The exam was soon and Leo hoped to feel more confident about it when it was time. The woman from the Ministry told them what they had to do so the boy lined up with everyone else, the thought of possibly splinching in front of the class not crossing his mind. It wouldn't be pleasant, after all. So far no one had splinched, to his relief. When it was Leo‘s turn, he closed his eyes and thought of the three D‘s. By the time he opened his eyes again he was...standing in the same place. He sighed, but tried again, clearing his mind fully. With a pop he opened an eye at a time and cheered, he was standing on the X. He sent a thumbs up to the Ministry woman. He had managed to apparate quicker than last lesson which boosted his ego a little. He was going to ace the exam.

Whilst on his way to the final apparition lesson of the year, the teen thought back on the previous lesson and on how he had successfully managed to apparate into the wooden hoop. If the next lesson and the exam were going to be just as easy then he was going to pass the class without a doubt. He listened to the woman as she told the students what they would be doing during this lesson. He lined himself up along with the others and watched as one by one they apparated to the other end of the Great Hall. Soon it was Asaiah's turn to apparate and he took a deep breath and closed his eyes so that he could focus on the three Ds. And then it happened, the same odd feeling he had felt the previous lesson as if he was being squeezed together. A second later he felt his feet hit the ground again and when he opened his eyes to see if he had managed to do it once again, saw that he was standing on the red x the Ministry woman had etched onto the floor. He continued to practice a couple of times after his first attempt and left the hall when they were dismissed.
