Each year, Irene Finch represented the Ministry in coming to the school to give the students the tools they would need to pass their apparition exam. She wondered, as the students cautiously moved towards her, whether that would change when a new Minister was in office. She hoped not. For some of the sixth years, the few lessons that they had would be enough for them to pass their examination. Others she would see time and again throughout the year in the courses that were taught at the ministry. Her icy blue eyes took each student in, gazing at each one for a few seconds as she tried to figure out which group each student would fall into.

"Good afternoon, sixth years. My name is Irene Finch and I'm here on behalf of the Department of Magical Transportation to prepare you for your apparition exam. As I am sure you are aware, Minister Hensel is in the middle of transitioning out of office but she assured me that she wanted this year's lessons to continue." Irene hadn't really spoken to the Minister, but she hadn't said anything about the lessons not taking place. With a shake of her hair, the woman addressed them all once more. "With that said, I'd also like to mention that Headmistress Davershire has been kind enough to lift the enchantment placed on this room so that you will be able to practice apparating within these walls for the duration of our lessons."

Crossing her arms, the woman’s icy gaze moved across the students as she continued. "I will warn you from the start that your ability to apparate will have little to do with what house you are in or your blood status. Your ability to apparate will, however, depend on your focusing on the three Ds: Destination.Determination. Deliberation." She pronounced each word slowly and loudly, punctuated by the click of her heels, so that even the students standing in the back of the room could hear her. "First, you must choose your destination. Next, you will focus your determination and once you feel you are ready..." With a small step, Irene apparated next to one of the sixth years who had been talking while she was and continued speaking, "you must move with deliberation like so." It hardly took her any effort to send herself around the room. Some thought that her slight frame was a result of having apparated so many times. She didn’t think so, though she was certain that it made things easier on her.

Moving towards the front of the room, Irene continued lecturing the students. She knew that some were probably expecting to apparate today but she also knew that the foundation for apparating started with this information. "Don't forget the 3 Ds and I will see you all next time. A word to the wise: Don't bring anything but yourselves to the next lesson. The less you carry, the easier it will be." She smiled briefly, but then her face turned serious again as she remembered something she had nearly forgotten to tell the students. Holding up a hand, Irene asked them for their attention once more. In a warning tone, she told them "And, just as a reminder...the moment you step out of this room, the enchantment will be put back in place until next time we meet. It would be very, very unwise to consider apparating anywhere on the school grounds until then." With that, she dismissed the students and began to gather up her things so that she could get back to the office.

RP the lesson. Nothing fancy is necessary, but remember that these lessons are so that your student can earn a license. This is just the first of only three lessons before the exam takes place.

Tiny butterflies fluttered around inside Rosie's stomach as she headed to her first Apparition lesson. This skill was something Rosie had been looking forward to since she started this school, and now it was finally time to put it under her belt. "I just hope I can do this without messing up. I've heard some awful stories about students getting splinched." The brunette thought to herself nervously. Of course she was going to try her best and practice as much as she possibly could, but Rosie always felt nervous at the thought of failing at something. Rosie wanted to be the best and being the best meant that she didn't have much room for error. Maybe it was the fact that she felt that as a muggle born, she needed to try harder to win the approval of others in thus world, but she had never felt comfortable with the idea of failing at something. Walking into the Great Hall, Rosie was surprised to see a woman she had never quite seen before and smiled shyly in her direction. Hopefully the others would come along soon so they could begin and Rosie could start to push away some of this nervousness with hard work and good old fashioned practice.

The woman introduced herself as Irene Finch, and included that she was from the Department of Magical Transportation. So she was going to be teaching them how to apparate. Must be an interesting job to say the least. Apparently the anti-apparition charm had been lifted for them while they were in this class too. How cool! Rosie wondered what they were going to start with on the first lesson. As cool as it would be to start apparating right then and there, even Rosie knew that they would need a foundation to get themselves going. Irene Finch announced that blood status and house had nothing to do with their success, but the three D's will. Rosie raised an eyebrow. What were those? Moments later it was revealed. Destination.Determination. Deliberation. Rosie repeated it to herself several times. One would have to pictured their destination, become determined, and then follow through with the act. Rosie repeated it to herself one last time before Irene announced that class was over for the day. Rosie was somewhat bummed that they weren't apparating themselves today, but it was probably for the best. Maybe next week though! Leaving the Great Hall, Rosie carefully repeated the three D's the whole time she walked back to the common room.

This term, Tybalt had decided would be a lot more interesting than the last one. He was doing a new class in this term, and while it was only a brief small class, he was still very much interested by it. He couldn't wait to do it. This entire week was pretty busy. What with the quidditch match at the weekend, which kept him pretty busy, but knowing that they had to play two games during this semester was why he was looking forward to it. Looking forward to being able to just let lose and play a little bit. The first week back was never that hard, but he was a sixth year, surely there would be some that were a little more difficult than others. However, that being said, Ty was just happy to be back at school, and giving all of these lessons a try. There was no point in not giving it his all, and he'd always done that. Tybalt was not the kind of person who didn't give almost everything his best try. He worked really hard, and that was reflected in his grades. Tybalt smiled to himself as he got ready for the day of lessons which faced him, he hadn't done much work over the holiday but he doubted that he would need to.

Stepping into the Great Hall, Tybalt was incredibly nervous. He couldn't believe that it was finally time to learn how to apparate. It was just sort of something that adults could do, he seemed to always forget that he was an adult, and at that he was seventeen, he was an adult in the wider magical world. He needed this skill, and almost in a way, Tybalt would leave school at the end of the year. Of course he had no intention to do such a thing. He stepped into the hall with the rest of the class and smiled slightly, he listened to what she was saying, listening to the three D's, the class sounded hard, but Tybalt had done a lot of reading about it, perhaps it would come easy for him in the end. He was almost rooting for that to be a thing. That it would in actual fact be simple. He didn't think that they would be able to apparate in this first lesson, but he was keen to at least try. However, the professor, or woman, he wasn't really sure what she was, didn't seem to be making it seem like they would actually be able to apparate in that lesson. Soon the lesson was over, and they were all dismissed. Tybalt smiled, noting that he wasn't to bring anything in the next lesson, and then left the room, while he really wanted to be able to just sit and read more about this, he had a quidditch game to practice for.

Preston had been looking forward to the apparation lessons from the moment that he had learned what they were. The guy had eagerly signed his name up for the classes that were being offered by the ministry and he was one of the first to enter the great hall on the day of their lessons. Instantly, the boy knew he would never miss a lesson. The woman standing at the front of the front of the room had the most amazing eyes that Preston had ever seen. As she began the lesson, the Slytherin found a spot at the front of the room where he would have no trouble hearing what the woman said. It was odd to be in the great hall when it was this empty. Sure, he had seen it without the tables, but that was usually for the parties and there were plenty of people and decorations to occupy the space. Now, there was a slight echo as the woman spoke and the sound of her heels was loud.

The teen let out a silent sigh of relief as the woman declared blood status unimportant for this particular skill. It was nice to hear someone say that out loud and the sixth year smirked. As she continued, the teen tried to repeat the three Ds to himself. She emphasized how important they were, so he figured he should. As she apparated, Preston turned to watch in awe. She had been quick. Grinning, Preston couldn't wait to try for himself. The grin slowly disappeared as he realized it wouldn't be today. As she dismissed them with the warnings about waiting for the next lesson, the Slytherin was eager for the next lesson. It was too bad they didn't have those every week.
