Apparition 2

Irene stood in her Ministry robes looking as poised as ever as she awaited the sixth years' arrival. Today, they'd finally get some practice in. She knew that some students had experience with side-along apparition, but doing it alone was a very different experience. They'd soon find that out for themselves. It was one thing to go along for the ride, and quite another thing to be the person who had to remember the 3 Ds and execute them perfectly.

"Let's go. You don't have all day and neither do I." Irene Finch urged the students forward impatiently as the first student walked tentatively through the open Great Hall doors. She took roll as they entered, shutting the doors from the distraction of younger students who wanted to see what was happening. "You don't need to be on top of each other. Space yourselves out!" she stated, exasperation in her tone. Irene gave her wand a small flourish and a large wooden hoop appeared in front of each student, falling into place before them.

Looking around at their faces, Irene stared at each student for the briefest of moments, making judgments about their ability to succeed at the task before them. She had been doing this long enough that she was rarely wrong. "Alright, let us begin. Today, you will make your first attempts at apparating" she declared, her hands on her hips as she walked around. "Before we begin, however, can someone remind us of the three Ds?" she pointed to a student and nodded her head as they responded.

"Excellent" she stated. "Now that you've all been reminded of the three Ds, it is time to put them into practice. For your safety, one of your school nurses is here" she nodded towards the corner where the nurse was stationed. "If you splinch yourself, please remain in your spot and the nurse or I will come to you. No sense bleeding all over the place" she stated with a small shake of her head, not even thinking about how startling that sentence might seem to a muggleborn. She didn't explain splinching either. Sooner rather than later, she was sure they'd learn if they didn't already know. "Begin. I will be walking around."

Points will be given to the student who answers the question. RP the lesson.
If you'd like your character to splinch themselves, please PM me first.
School nurse welcome!

Fraser walked into the great hall, very eager to finally get to do the apparition. Fraser stood in the hall, glancing around the room as others spread out. He nodded at what the professor was saying and then his gaze moved to the gound where hoops appeared. He listened to what the professor was saying and then they were allowed to be try it. He focused his mind as he was supposed to. He thought about where he wanted to go, and it took far too long and then he felt the pull, and he leaned in and he was suddenly in the middle of the circle. Fraser was pretty happy with himself and then packed up his things and left the room.

Mikael stood away from everyone, wand held loosely at his side as he looked at the designated hoop in front of him. Apparition was the one thing that his parents hadn't taught him prior - but he supposed that made sense. Now it was time for him to learn and his expression betrayed nothing as he kept the 3 D's firmly in his mind. Apparition required precision and control. His gaze was fixed on the hoop in front of him, a clear vision of himself standing within it. He could feel his own magic readying for what he was about to attempt. Destination. Determination. Deliberation. An uncomfortable pull that he was all too familiar with. It certainly felt similar and yet different from being side-alonged. He landed in the hoop, at the edge of it, his shoe nearly touching the ring and his gaze darkened. Too close. He needed more practice.

Hinata stood among her classmates, just a few feet away from Mikael. She firmly believed that she couldn't be blamed for the churning in her gut because this was the day they were finally learning or practicing how to apparate for the first time. Apparition was quite the essential skill to have, although it was dangerous and it all too easy to fail. She glanced down at the wooden hoop before her, taking a deep breath to steady herself. Destination. Determination. Deliberation. She glanced at the hoop in front of her and visualized herself standing inside it, willing her body, her magic to move without her having to physically step forward. She narrowed her eyes, feeling a strange pull as she concentrated and plunged herself into focusing on those three D's. And then there was that sensation of being yanked and forced through a tube and it was over as soon as it started. Next thing she knew, she was... in front of the hoop. Well. That... didn't go too well. She was lucky there wasn't a wall where she stood right now. Or anything more dangerous. She stayed to practice until they were told to leave.

The first apparition lesson had been surprisingly low stakes so Bailey was hoping in their follow up they would be getting into actually apparating. As she made her way into the great hall with the others they were encouraged to spread out and find themself some space, Bailey did just that and went as far from her peers as she could while still being about to hear Miss Finch.

Miss Finch’s lack of patience was actually quite refreshing compared to some of the professors at the school. As much as Bailey did want to learn apparition, she didn’t have all day. Sixth year was a lot of work. When she pointed out a student to remind them of the three Ds, Bailey surprisingly found herself being the one called out, “Oh, Destination, Determination, Deliberation,” She said with as much confidence as she could muster in front of her entire sixth year class. Once they were ready to start practicing, and they were given a very casual warning about splinching, a wooden hoop appeared in front of her and it was time to actually start practicing.

The goal was pretty simple, apparate into the wooden circle that was a few feet in front of her. No actual instruction had been given to them to apparate, it seemed as if they just…did it, by concentrating on where they needed to go. The three Ds and all that. Bailey focused hard on her destination, she imagined her body moving, twisting, merlin she hoped it wasn’t painful. She closed her eyes and thought hard, destination, determination, deliberation. She repeated the words like a mantra until she felt an uncomfortable sensation in her gut as if someone was trying to fish out her insides with a hook, when she opened them she had her feet planted firmly in the centre of the circle. The hufflepuff exhales in relief. She’d done it.

Theo strolled into the Great Hall, rolling his shoulders and trying to pretend that this was just another casual day in school. Of course, it really wasn't because there was the very distinct possibility of leaving a toe behind. Literally. Or maybe an arm. It depends really. It was just unfortunate that this was a class he couldn't fool around in. He took his place, watching as the hoop landed in front of him. "A hoop. Brilliant," he muttered. He kept the three D's in mind since he really didn't have any intention of getting splinched today. Turning back to the hoop, Theo flexed his fingers as if readying himself. He'd done Side-Along Apparition before. He'd done it a lot. Doing it himself? Whole different game. He focused, picturing himself appearing in the middle of the hoop cleanly - whole and completely intact. Destination. Determination. Deliberation. One deep breath. The feeling was horrible and he stumbled upon landing. BUT! Well he was there, both feet in the hoop. No missing fingers. No missing toes. Nothing missing. No pain. It was just really unpleasant. But hey, he did it!

Horror Zhefarovich had a few of his textbooks out on his bed after he showered and got dressed. He had a lesson to attend today, and the rest were out for studying later. He looked at the time and day to see which of his classes that he had to attend. Once he figured it out, he grabbed the book and stuffed it into his bag. He had everything else gathered. From notes to wand, there was nothing that he was missing. He slung his bag over his shoulder and left, knowing that he would be there before the other prefect in his dorm. Horror cared more for his classes than Mikael. He had no idea what that meant about him though.

Horror walked in the Great Hall, prepared for this lesson ahead. He remembered the three D's, and assumed that they would give it a shot. They would have their first attempts at apparating. Horror closed his eyes, and worked through the three words repeatedly in his head. To the center of the circle. He sighed, and let it fill him. He could sense the magic within, and soon enough, that lovely, so lovely (not) feeling of apparating. He opened his eyes and saw that he was in the circle. Off center, but whatever. He succeeded and that was what mattered most.

The sixth year Ravenclaw made his way from the Ravenclaw towers. He was dressed well enough to attend classes, and his Ravenclaw robes flowed around him as he made his way down the stairs. In both castles, he had to descend an awful lot of stairs. He was annoyed by it, in either one. At least he was not a lazy lad and could handle the stairs. He also carried the textbooks and parchment light, and just packed what he needed. And, it was good that he did not have too many courses. He had what he wanted to become a healer, and that was all he was putting his effort into.

Loki walked in the Great Hall and stood where he was at before. They were given a small hoop in front of them. Wooden. His blue eyes took in every detail because he knew what they would need to do before Ms. Finch would even say it. Apparate to the hoop. And then the sixth yearts were told to do it. He remembered how much he hated apparating with someone, and this would give him the chance to do so without others. He closed his eyes, focused, and then opened them after that stupid feeling in his gut. He apparated inside of the hoop. Since it took him a little while, he practiced until he was comfortable with it.

June made her way to the great hall for another lesson of apparition. She made sure she was one of the first and listened to the instructions of the professor and put her bag down somewhere, so she didn't carry any more weight on her than needed for practice. June made sure she stood close to the professor, or woman whatever she was called from the ministry. Trying to make sure she was making an good impression. And not even Fraser was gonna distract her. The woman took enough time to stare at them so June was making sure she was all focused. When the woman asked an question the blonde quickly raised her hand. But Bailey got chosen instead of her and kept her face in line, but felt annoyed. But every person in this room knew that answer obviously, at least they should. The thought of the nurse needing to help out was not something June would like. The girlfriend or wife whatever she was from Misha not at all.

The blonde made herself ready and focused as they could try it out. She felt confident about her own ability. And wanted to show that. June made sure to remember the three D's. And focused her mind. She thought about the place in the room she wanted to go, and watched it very closely. June closed her eyes and felt an strange feeling and than opened her eyes again noticing she was in the circle, not too perfect enough. But very close. It was an strange feeling, but she felt very proud. And wanted to try again, but the lesson was quickly over. But made sure to thank the woman for the lesson.
