Apparition 2

Irene stood in her Ministry robes looking as poised as ever as she awaited the sixth years' arrival. Today, they'd finally get some practice in. She knew that some students had experience with side-along apparition, but doing it alone was a very different experience. They'd soon find that out for themselves. It was one thing to go along for the ride, and quite another thing to be the person who had to remember the 3 Ds and execute them perfectly.

"Let's go. You don't have all day and neither do I." Irene Finch urged the students forward impatiently as the first student walked tentatively through the open Great Hall doors. She took roll as they entered, shutting the doors from the distraction of younger students who wanted to see what was happening. "You don't need to be on top of each other. Space yourselves out!" she stated, exasperation in her tone. Irene gave her wand a small flourish and a large wooden hoop appeared in front of each student, falling into place before them.

Looking around at their faces, Irene stared at each student for the briefest of moments, making judgments about their ability to succeed at the task before them. She had been doing this long enough that she was rarely wrong. "Alright, let us begin. Today, you will make your first attempts at apparating" she declared, her hands on her hips as she walked around. "Before we begin, however, can someone remind us of the three Ds?" she pointed to a student and nodded her head as they responded.

"Excellent" she stated. "Now that you've all been reminded of the three Ds, it is time to put them into practice. For your safety, one of your school nurses is here" she nodded towards the corner where the nurse was stationed. "If you splinch yourself, please remain in your spot and the nurse or I will come to you. No sense bleeding all over the place" she stated with a small shake of her head, not even thinking about how startling that sentence might seem to a muggleborn. She didn't explain splinching either. Sooner rather than later, she was sure they'd learn if they didn't already know. "Begin. I will be walking around."

Points will be given to the student who answers the question. RP the lesson.
If you'd like your character to splinch themselves, please PM me first.
School nurse welcome!

Emmanuel was trying his best, but he realised there was something about himself he needed to figure out, because he’d come to realise his feelings of jealousy were not in a friend sense, but that he liked Kyon. Kyon had always been his closest friend, but he hadn’t realised that part of that had been that he’d been maybe a little attracted to him, though too blind to really see it. The teen was getting himself together with this lingering on his mind, just at the back of it as he got himself together for the day ahead. He was trying to not focus on it too much, but it was on his mind. The teen was getting the last few things and then headed out of the dorm room.

Emmanuel walked into the great hall, exceedingly eager for what they would likely be able to do that day, knowing that they would be getting the opportunity to actually apparate, no more theory, actually being able to do it. He took his usual spot in the room, making sure that he was apart from others and then glanced at the ground where the hoop appeared. He nodded as someone else answered the question, and then they were allowed to get started. He focused himself, remembering all he had read, all he had heard on the matter. Thinking about where he wanted to go, about where he wanted to be. His mind was mostly clear as he then felt the tugged and apparated into the centre of the hoop. He was able to practice again before the time was up and headed out of the room, feeling pretty good about himself and his chances of passing first time.

Todd was both excited and nervous as he stepped into the Great Hall. He listened to the ministry official, his hand shot up for the question, and responded confidently, "Destination, Determination, and Deliberation." Todd gulped at the thought of splinching. He shook off the unsettling feeling and focused on the hoop in front of him. He looked at his exact position and size. He visualised himself standing inside it, focusing on the three Ds. He could feel his heartbeat quicken, but he forced himself to remain calm.

He closed his eyes for a moment, picturing the hoop in his mind. He imagined every detail, felt the determination rising within him, and then, with a deliberate twist, he turned on the spot. The sensation was strange but when Todd opened his eyes, he was standing inside the hoop. He let out a breath he hadn't realised he'd been holding and broke into a wide grin. He'd done it and all his limbs were in tact.

Ethan wasn't sure what to expect from the day's lesson. They had only gone over basics last time and they only had a few lessons so he was cautiously optimistic they'd get a chance to try it for themselves. He kicked the stone of the floor in the entrance hall until they were finally let in. The instructor rushed them into a line and fussed over them until they were satisfactorily spaced. Ethan just did as he was told and listened to the instructions. The reminder of the school nurse being present didn't alleviate any nervousness he had. When it was his turn he took a deep breath to help him focus on the hoop ahead of him. He went over the three D's in his head, and focused on determination. He could do this. People did it all the time. Ethan gripped his wand a bit tighter and let his eyes almost go crossed as he stared at the hoop. Before he knew it his body was been pulled and in a flash he was in the hoop. His hair felt windswept but he was all in one piece and that was good enough for him.

Rory Styx stood in the Great Hall, feeling a mixture of anticipation and anxiety as Irene Finch addressed the sixth years. He had been eagerly awaiting this moment, knowing that today they would finally get to practice apparition. The large wooden hoop in front of him seemed both a challenge and a gateway to newfound freedom.

As Finch paced around the room, her stern demeanour and sharp eyes scanning each student, Rory straightened up, determined to prove himself. The reminder of the three Ds—Destination, Determination, Deliberation—echoed in his mind. He visualized his target spot within the hoop, focusing intently.

The mention of splinching and the presence of the school nurse added an extra layer of tension, but Rory tried to push those thoughts aside. He couldn't afford to let fear get the best of him. Taking a deep breath, he concentrated on his destination, channelling all his determination, and preparing to move with deliberate precision.

Closing his eyes for a moment, Rory envisioned himself standing inside the hoop. He opened his eyes, feeling a surge of confidence. With a firm grip on his wand, he focused on the spot, repeating the three Ds silently to himself. He felt a strange pulling sensation, and in an instant, he found himself standing inside the hoop, albeit a bit off-centre.

Rory's heart pounded with excitement and relief. He had done it—his first successful apparition attempt. He glanced around, noticing a few students who were still trying to get it right, and others who were nursing minor splinches under the nurse’s care. He took a moment to steady himself, making sure he was fully intact, before looking up to see if Finch had noticed his success.

This was just the beginning, Rory knew, but it was a crucial step. With practice, he'd refine his technique and gain confidence. For now, he allowed himself a small, triumphant smile, ready to tackle the next challenge Finch had in store.

Wish dragged herself to the apparition lesson. She felt a bit like a stubborn toddler by not wanting to participate, which made her feel worse about it. She was nearly of age and knew she needed to learn this for her future. Being childish wasn't going to help anything. Frustrated with herself, Wish entered the hall for the lesson. The Ministry official's demeanor did absolutely nothing to settle her nerves, and the presence of the nurse made her even more anxious. She stared at the hoop in apprehension and repeated the three Ds to herself over and over. She stood there awkwardly for a while, before she realised that doing nothing was going to be conspicuous, and made an attempt. Wish felt a tugging sensation and found herself overshooting the hoop. She stumbled over her own feet and hit the ground in shock, quickly picking herself up before anyone noticed. Although she was completely unharmed, Wish was still shaken by the attempt and thought it was a miracle she hadn't splinched herself.

Lennox had read more about apparition. She wanted to be able to do this on the first try. She had to be able to. She was determined to prove herself. But theory was always different than actually doing it. Lennox had no doubts about herself though. She entered the Great Hall confidence exuding from her. She waited for a few moments before the ministry worker began, again with an attitude. Lennox could respect that though. She spaced out, rolling her eyes as someone bumped into her. Was everyone else so useless? She tried not to think on it as they were meant to practice.

Lennox thought about the three D's, Destination. Determination. Deliberation. She focused on the hoop in front of her. The first D. She was determined. So determined. Always determined. Now just the last step. Lennox closed her eyes and focused. Nothing happened for awhile before poof. She felt a sick feeling in her stomach. She opened her eyes, her one foot in the hoop and the other outside.

Lennox was disappointed. She wanted it to be perfect. Lennox was able to try once more. This time she made it in the hoop. Now that was better. She would have to continue with that though. The time was over for practice and they were dismissed. Lennox grabbed her things and left the Great Hall. Next week she would be completely perfect. She had to be.
