Sutton had spent a long time on her costume this year. She rarely gave much thought previous years, going instead as something simple. This year was different. Her younger sister, Kita, had made a comment about Sutton always choosing costumes that were book-related. Of course this was true, but the tone that her sister had used made Sutton want to work harder this year. She thought hard about what could be the most book related costume, eventually falling on her nickname 'bookworm.' After hours of creating a cardboard book and dying a white dress green, Sutton had finally had the perfect costume. It suited her so well; she almost wondered if she could wear it year round.

The young Ravenclaw walked into the Great Hall, adjusting her antennae as she did so. The hall was decorated in creepy decorations and wonderful pumpkins. The food was overwhelming. A few things caught the young blonde's eyes. She definitely wanted to check out the haunted tent. It was almost as if she was in a horror movie, entering an area you knew you should not enter. This thrilled the young girl as she walked towards the tent. Almost there, something caught her eye, a plate of cupcakes shaped like spiders. Sutton stopped her journey as she went over to the table of snacks and reached out for a cupcake. The spider moved, making her jump backwards. The young girl laughed loudly as she once more reached and grabbed a cupcake off the 'spider's legs.' Her eyes looked around the Great Hall as she took a huge bite of the cupcake, getting frosting on her nose.

Ivy had spent a bit of time on her costume and was hoping to have a bit of fun tonight at the dance. Ivy knew that she could have used the time studying, but tonight she was allowing herself not to worry about her lessons. Halloween was a fun event at Hogwarts, and Ivy was hoping to spend it with her friends.

She was looking for Brooke or Delilah, heading towards the tent to see if they were there. Her attention was grabbed by someone laughing, and Ivy turned to look and saw a girl from her year with the cupcake spiders. She took a moment to understand her costume, then laughed. "Oh, that's a good one. You're a book worm." She told her. "Sutton, right? That's awesome." She said, honestly a little sad she hadn't thought of that herself.

Sutton took another bite of the cupcake, as another third year student walked up to her. Sutton chewed the bite rather quickly before flashing the girl a smile as she complimented her costume. Sutton thought it was rather clever herself, and a great dig at her younger sister who always made fun of Sutton's love for books. "Oh thanks" Sutton said genuinely. "Yes I'm a bookworm...both in costume and daily life" She said adding the last part with a laugh. It was not incorrect at all. Sutton could always be found with her nose in a book, not textbooks, but a good fantasy book.

Sutton nodded her head as the girl guessed her name. Sutton wracked her brain to remember the girl's name as well. They were in quite a lot of classes together now that they were both third years. It starts with an I....Ivy Sutton thought coming to the conclusion of the correct name. "And you're Ivy right?" Sutton said guessing that she was correct. However she could always be wrong. She was not the most social being. The young blonde examined Ivy's costume. A Hunter, she assumed, covered in Cheetah Print. "I'm loving your costume as well. The bow really adds to it." She said thinking that Ivy looked like she could easily play an archer hero in one of Sutton's books. "I imagine that bow makes bobbing for apples much easier!" The young Ravenclaw added, wondering if she would be able to shoot an apple with it even if she wanted to.

Ivy smiled at the blonde, feeling a bit of kinship the moment she said she was a bookworm. Sometimes, she wondered if she should have been in Ravenclaw. It seemed like an easier place to make friends than in Gryffindor, at least. "Me too." She said with a slight smile. "In real life, not in costume." She added. Sutton knew her name, which made Ivy smile. Her smile widened slightly as the other girl complimented her costume, doing a little pose with her bow and arrow for a moment before breaking into a laugh. "I don't know if I'd be allowed to use it." She said, glancing at the apples. "Isn't the whole point to do it with your mouth?"

Sutton smiled widely as Ivy admitted that she too was a bookworm. It was always nice to find someone who had similar interests as herself. Yes she was in Ravenclaw, a house dedicated to those who loved to learn. It was not as if Sutton did not enjoy learning. It was more that she enjoyed reading more. It was much more fun to get lost in a fantasy world for hours than it was to read about a bunch of Potion ingredients. The young Ravenclaw was gaining more of a balance now that she was in her third year, but some days she still struggled to get her head out of the clouds and focus for her classes. "Well it's nice to talk to another bookworm" Sutton said with an overexaggerated bow. This was difficult to do with her costume being so bulky. She was surprised in her ability when she actually managed to stand up straight once more and not fall over. "What is your genre of choice?" Sutton asked wondering what type of books Ivy enjoyed reading. It of course was a difficult question for someone who loved to read, although Sutton often found everyone had one or two genres they were drawn to, that they could read over and over again.

The young Ravenclaw girl let out a loud laugh as Ivy did a pose with her bow. She adding a little clap tempted to yell bravo, but did not want to seem too weird right off the bat. Sutton could be a bit much sometimes or she had been told. The young girl gave a little thought to the bobbing for apples with an arrow. She assumed it would be frowned upon, but it would certainly be amusing. "I don't think it's the preferred method" She began glancing over at some students who were bobbing for apples, faces in the cold water. "But certainly would be more resourceful than struggling like they are" She added shaking her head slightly. She was not quite serious about attempting this, but the imagery was one that made the young girl smile.
