There were two people in her life that Analei really wanted to be friends. Her boyfriend and best friend, Edmund and Arvel. Of course, there was Zennon too but with his fallout with Arvel, she thought maybe inviting him along as well would make for a disastrous evening. Analei was not a very good cook, she had never had to learn, so she took all the help she could get to make dinner.
The blonde sat at the dressed dinner table, waiting anxiously for her guests to arrive.

Edmund didn't quite remember the last time he had been this nervous. He was entirely conscious of the fact that he put out an air that he didn't want people near him, something he and his brother had spent their whole lives cultivating. Making new friends wasn't something Edmund did easily or often, but today it was a necessity. Arvel was important to Analei, he knew that for certain, and Edmund wanted to make sure he made a good impression. He had brought flowers for Analei and at home it had felt like the right thing to do but now, standing on the doorstep with a small posy of daisies, Edmund felt a bit silly. It would feel sillier to throw them away now though, so he just knocked and hoped for the best.

The only reason Arvel had agreed to this was because it was better than staying at home. His dad was not at all pleased about his grades, and sought to bring it up at any opportunity - as if Arvel wasn't feeling miserable already. The grades were punishment enough. He would never be an auror, now, not with a P in Herbology. His dad kept telling him to grovel to Professor Castillo, and Arvel had promised he would, knowing he would rather drink bubotuber pus. No way was he going to beg for anything.

Analei's house suddenly came into view. Arvel stopped. Ugh. Of course Edmund was just arriving. Well, they couldn't arrive at the same time - that would just be awkward. And he certainly didn't feel like making polite chit-chat with Edmund on the doorstep. Hoping Edmund hadn't spotted him yet, Arvel ducked behind a nearby bush - a plan that would have been foolproof had he not tripped over a rock and sworn loudly. Sprawled out on the grass in plain sight of the front step, Arvel sighed. He picked himself up and, scowling, made his way up towards Edmund.

Analei jumped to her feet at the knock of the door, unsure why she was feeling so nervous. She quickly smoothed out her outfit and made sure her hair was okay, before going towards the door. With a deep breath, she opened the door to see both her boys there. Analei couldn't help but break into a huge grin, feeling her nerves wash away and be replaced with happiness. "Hello! Hi! Come in!" Analei said as she greeted them both with a hug and kiss (one on the lips, one on the cheek (you can guess who)).
