Professor Elvera Le fey had been to the tule ball many times before. some of them were far more memorable where as others just sort of blurred into each other. tonights would likely be one of her memorable ones, a first of hers which after about fifteen years in the castle was quite an achievement. she was to officially open the ball, although she did wish it wasn't needed due to the situation and professor davenshire king could could do it, but after the events of her wedding it was understandable that she wasn't up for it.
Dressed in a nice simple black dress with blue braiding around the edge Elvera entered the great hall and added a few more details to the decorations before opening the doors with a wave of her wand. the room was magnificent, charmed to be cool on this warm summers night, snow was falling from the ceiling before vanishing just above head hight, there were non melting ice sculptures and of course large christmas trees decorated with magical decorations, a large dance floor took up the middle of the room surrounded by tables sizes varying between seating two and twenty, the food was weighing the benches on the side down looking ad delicious as ever. and one side of the room the wall was charmed to open into the garden where real fairies flew between the bushes in glittering lights and there was a silver sparkle of snow. when when the garden opened onto the lawn there was an ice skating rink where the students, and professors, could skate the night away if they didn't feel like dancing.
Once the students had entered she took a spot on the stadium. clearing her throat she waved for attention. "good evening. and welcome to the yule ball. I would like to congratulate you all for their hard work this semester and wish everyone an enjoyable evening letting your hair down. she paused looking around the hall "I wish you all a happy and safe holiday to refresh before next semester. I declare the ball officially open enjoy." she said. she had been mentally planning that for days and she hoped it had sounded okay. once she was done she stepped of the podium smiling and relieved she didn't slip up. before heading into the crowd making their way to the food.
