Leia hadn’t been asked to the Valentines Dance, which had been a great disappointment to her, but she was sure it would be just fine. That she would enjoy it a great deal anyway. She had to just find something to do. The yuleball had been nice, she’d danced with Luxen, though she wasn’t yet sure what to make of the boy, he wasn’t like Maj or like Beau. He was definitely different. The slytherin wondered if she’d see any of those boys at this event today. SHe had already hand delivered the rose to Maj and she was sure she wouldn’t see him here, this wasn’t really something she saw him engaging with. It was a celebration and though he had appeared to not mind the halloween feast, she knew that it was different. Leia twirled into the hall, and immediately went to get herself a drink, there was a certain level of excitement in her. Stemming from getting two whole roses and though she had no plans and no one to dance, and that she wouldn’t dance alone, she would have fun regardless.

As Augustus headed into the great hall, he was immediately slightly overwhelmed with the decorations. His already large eyes grew impossibly wider at the sight, taking in the different aspects and colors, as well as the flowers with petals floating down. It was crowded, and Augustus was easily overwhelmed in crowds. He moved to the side , ducking in between a few older students to get out of the way. But as he did so, he tripped over his own feet and knocked into the drinks table, wincing as it made a few of the cups fall over and spill their contents on the tablecloth. He winced again as he spotted who was nearby, the girl who had yelled at him earlier in the year. Augustus nervously took a step back, his eyes darting to the girl and away from her. "Sorry." He mumbled.

Leia was quick to move away from the table as someone tripped into it and caused many cups to fall over. She glanced towards who it was and realised it was that boy who’d spent an entire morning staring at her once. She’d noted that he’d done the same with others, in their classes she’d noticed him with his wide eyes in what was to her a blank stare. She wanted to get annoyed that he’d caused so much to fall on to the table, but that wasn’t really his fault. That wasn’t really something he could be blamed for really. That was a mistake, ”It’s fine,” she said, making sure that her words were short so that he could perhaps believe that she didn’t mean it. ”Whose your staring target for tonight?” she joked with him, motioning to all of the people around the hall who were dancing, or standing to the sidelines. She knew it wasn’t a particularly nice joke to make but Leia didn’t care much.

Augustus was clearly nervous about talking to this girl, but she said it was fine. He nodded, glad that she wasn't angry, but then frowned a bit at her next words. He fidgeted with his tie and shrugged. "I don't ...have a target." He mumbled under his breath. "I'm just looking around." He winced, wondering if he had already upset someone. "Are you going to be angry again?" He asked quietly.

Luxen entered the great hall for the Valentines dance in his black dress robes. The sight of the Great Hall made him want to throw up as it was even more insufferably decorated than the Yule ball had been. Luxen wondered around the hall spending a few moments examining all of the people that were around. There weren't many people that Luxen could actually stand and he was positive that the feelings were mutual. He knew however that it would be odd to spend the entire evening simply making the House Elves miserable and so decided that he would find someone to dance with.

The choices were slim and none particularly interested Luxen until he saw someone he'd recognized from the last dance. Luxen noticed that Leia was standing next to the weird Ravenclaw kid and figured she'd probably be great-full for his interference. He walked over and pretending that the Ravenclaw boy wasn't even around smiled at Leia "I hope I wasn't so bad at the Yule ball that you wouldn't want to have another dance?" he asked politely as he held out his hand.

Leia was a little surprised at him, that he seemed a little nervous and asked if she would get angry again. She didn’t want to get angry with him again, she’d been annoyed that day, had she maybe acted a bit oddly towards him, maybe acted a bit too quickly, but his staring had frustrated her. She watched him fidget with the tie and sighed a little. She reached out and fixed his tie for him, ”I won’t get angry with you,” she said but before she could say anything else, Luxen was in front of her, it seemed that he hadn’t noticed the odd boy, or perhaps he had and was choosing to ignore him. But he invited her to dance, and she wanted to be more friends with Luxen than she did with the odd boy. So she took his hand, ”I’d happily dance again,” she said to him. She was pretty keen to dance with him too. Luxen seemed like an odd person, but he was always keen to dance with her, and that was what people did at these things, so she wanted that too.

Augustus jumped a little as the girl fixed his tie for him, and then smiled in surprise when she said she wasn't going to be angry with him. "Thank you." He was trying to think of something to say to her, wondering if she could become a friend, but then another boy showed up. It was obvious to Augustus that he was completely ignoring him in favor of talking to the Slytherin girl, and he automatically took a step back. He was fairly used to this, but it still made him sad. "Bye..." He said softly as the girl agreed to dance with him. Augustus stuffed his hands in his pockets and hung back, looking elsewhere.

"Glad I could rescue you from that little freak" Luxen said casually as he took Leia to the dance floor. He was sure that the Ravenclaw would have been able to hear him but didn't care. Instead he began dancing with the Slytherin girl to a song that was surprisingly a medium pace rather than a slow one like at the Yule ball. "Where's your friend Valentine? don't you normally hang out with him?" Luxen asked as he noticed the other Slytherin boy was not able to be seen anywhere in the Great Hall.

Leia felt a little bad as Luxen called the boy a freak, but she just nodded, she wanted to be Luxen’s friend more so than she wanted to be the staring boy’s friend. So, if that meant not being particularly nice, that was what it could. ”He’s such a weirdo,” she said, though she hoped that the boy hadn’t heard her say that. The song they had decided to start dancing to was a little more medium tempo, but it was still fairly simple to dance to, ”Oh Maddox? He doesn’t really like these things,” she told him, ”We’re friends but if doesn’t want to this, then I’m not going to deprive myself of it,” she didn’t know whether saying she was friends with maj would be good or bad in front of Luxen, but she didn’t want to lie about it either. ”Are you here alone?”

"His loss then" Luxen said slyly in regards to Valentine. "It's called going stag, you know not many girls would be okay coming to a Valentine dance alone" Luxen said casually as he thought about how many of the other girls were probably moping in their dorms rather than trying to be sociable. "It would have been a shame" Luxen added with a smile.

He was annoyed with how soft and weak most of his fellow Slytherins were, it was as though they had no pride in their house's history and wanted to be like the other houses. Slytherins were supposed to be ambitious and willing to do what it took to achieve their goals. Luxen was relieved Hume didn't appear to be like that, she definitely seemed more practical. "I'm at least glad your here and that your dancing with me instead of hanging out with that other kid" Luxen said with a smirk.

Augustus had expected to spend the Valentine's Dance by himself, but he still felt a little sad as the Slytherin girl went on with her friend. But then the boy called him a freak, and Augustus glanced at him quickly, feeling hurt. He felt his cheeks flush as the girl added that he was weird, and he retreated back into the shadows, a little hunched over as he tried to hide his face. Why had he even come here? He didn't belong here, all he would do was annoy everyone or make them upset, like he always did. He really was weird, and this confirmed that the other kids thought so too.

The only reason Juno had attended was in case she happened to bump into her friend, which would have been a bit awkward because they hadn't spoken in weeks, but she'd missed him and if he was going to be anywhere, it would be here. Juno had been lurking by herself when she saw another kid back up into the shadows, although it was hard to tell what was going on when there were so many people in the room all at once. The blonde observed the scene for a moment, following the kids eyes to another pair of Slytherins who were joking amongst themselves. "Are you alright?" She asked the one that had stepped away. He just seemed a little.. out of place.

Augustus winced when someone spoke to him, and he looked up through his lashes at the older girl who was now talking to him. Was she going to make fun of him too? Call him a freak? He kept fidgeting with his tie, which the girl had fixed right before being mean about him. He shrugged. "Yes." He mumbled. "I'm fine." He said, shuffling away from her a bit.

Leia gave a little shrug at Luxen’s statement, she was sure Maj didn’t see it as a loss, and she didn’t think anyone who didn’t want to come shouldn’t then come. She nodded as the boy said it was called going stag and that other girls might not want to come to the ball alone, but she didn’t really get that. ”It’s a shame, since you can meet people at the ball and then not be alone,” she said with a little shrug, since she’d come alone, without a second thought thinking that she’d run into someone at the event itself, like she actually had. She gave him a little smile, she still didn’t know what to think of Luxen, to her he was perfectly nice but she’d noted he wasn’t like that to everyone, ”Forming strong relationships at school is helpful for after school and for in school,” the slytherin said thinking a little out loud about it. She didn’t feel that great about how they’d treated the creepy boy but it was more important to keep up the friendship with Luxen, than form any with that boy. She just smiled at Luxen and gave a little almost shy nod, ”I’m glad you’re here too, and dancing with me,”

The song ended and was replaced with a slower song , without asking Luxen moved to place his hands around Hume's waist like some of the other students were doing. Those that were in more romantic relationships were dancing much closer, a few of them appeared too close as several of the Professors moved around like silent ninja's in order to spread them a few inches apart at least. "Is that why you came to Hogwarts, to make strong, lasting relationships?" Luxen asked in a tone that made it sound like a genuine question.

He enjoyed being alone and believed friendship was simply enough tool life offered those who knew how to properly use it. "Some people like Westwick do succeed but most like him just fade into oblivion and bring those around them along for the ride, would you really want to take the risk of being a social pariah? Luxen asked, curious as to the girl's response.

As the boy said he was okay, Juno watched as he moved away from her even more. She swallowed nervously, hoping she hadn’t overstepped her mark. “If you’re sure.” She said unconvinced, looking back to the two Slytherins that were dancing. It was too dark and too much going on to work out what they were saying but the other little boy didn’t exactly seem comfortable, and he stood there a little awkwardly. Taking another chance, Juno moved a little closer to him, hoping he wasn’t about to run away. “D’you wanna show em how it’s done?” She asked, a little unsure of what was coming over her. Juno wasn’t the type to dance, especially not in front of people, but this was meant to be fun right? She didn’t want the younger boy to be scared off either for future events, so maybe putting a smile back on his face would make Juno’s night more enjoyable too. After a second, Juno put out her hand to him hesitantly, thinking that it could make the situation both better or worse depending how the boy reacted to her, but hoping it would show she was serious.
