Leonardo's method of getting a date to the ball had not yet failed him. He'd been sure that this year would've the one. That he wouldn't have managed to get a date, but he had. He had a date. A girl in the year below him, Isadora. She seemed nice, thought she seemed like a good date. The surname gave him pause, but he didn't quite know why it did. But none of that mattered, this was one date, one evening, one dance. He would make sure he was a gentleman and make sure that she had a good time. Leonardo was early, as he was always for the yuleball dates. He was stood at the entrance, like he said he would be. Leonardo was stood ramrod, perfectly still, just watching as others entered the hall. He was thinking a little about Harmony, and the dance he had gone to with her in the year before. He was thinking about how much he had enjoyed that, enjoyed being here with someone he knew but…he'd have fun with Isadora, it was just going to be different.

Isadora had never gone to the ball with a date before, and this was a pretty special circumstance. She didn’t even really know Leonardo, but the way he had been handing out cards had been simultaneously funny and a little strange. She had decided to go with him mostly to see how it was, though she had no illusions about the night. She hadn’t really looked at the dress her mother had packed before tonight and wasn’t a big fan of it, but she didn’t have anything else. She hoped Leonardo would like it, but if he didn’t at least they had something in common. She headed to the great hall, looking around until she spotted him. She grinned, walking over. “Hey.” She said, tugging at the high neck of her dress. “Sorry, did you have to wait long?”

Leonardo glanced as the girl approached him and gave a little shake of his head to her question. ”Not at all,” though Leonardo could've been waiting for two hours, and he likely would've said the same thing. It just helped that he hadn't been waiting long. ”You look really pretty,” he complimented, knowing it was a good idea to say it, and it helped that she did look nice. Leonardo held out his arm for her. ”Do you want to dance first, or get some food or drinks?” he would let her decide what she wanted to do.

Isadora smiled at the boy as he complimented, her swishing her skirt back and forth for a moment. “If you say so.” She said sardonically, then shrugged. “But thanks.” She added quickly, she didn’t want to seem rude. He offered a few suggestions, and Isadora glanced at him as she took his arm. There was something strange about this boy, who seemed to do things because he was supposed to. As he asked her what she wanted to do, she wondered if anyone ever asked him that question. “What do you want to do?” She asked curiously, wondering if he even knew.

Leonardo wasn't sure what to make of her comment and just gave a little nod, opting to not dig into it. he wasn't going to question someone he'd just met while they were at the ball. He frowned at her and shook his head. "I'm fine doing whatever you want," he replied with a serious tone. He knew what he would most want to do, knew what he liked about this celebration but it wasn't just about him. He would be happy with whatever she wanted to do because he thought it was right to just let her decide.
