Taylor Blare was on patrol again. This time however, she and Ai had silently agreed to stay away from each other. Whilst they didn't exactly hate each other anymore, at least on Taylor's side, they also weren't friends. Taylor had made the decision to stay away from Ai whenever it was possible. They needed to be able to work together on command and if they had spent the whole day together, they were just going to end up severely frustrated and hateful. This was definitely better for the both of them. Yawning at herself in the mirror, Taylor pinned on her badge and slipped her wand into her wrist brace. She had brought one of these a while ago as it seemed to help with both speed and accuracy. Nodding at her reflection, Taylor shook her head, her mass of hair falling all over the place. She had decided to leave it down tonight as it was slightly on the cold side and Taylor always felt it most strongly on the back of her neck. Because he hair was so long now, because she had never cut it, it came down to her waist. Her hair didn't grow all that quickly, so she didn't like to cut it. She was very athletic and quite the tomboy in the fact that she didn't like to wear a dress unless she had too, so her long hair was the most feminine thing about her, at least in her mind it was. Taylor yawned again and left the Gryffindor dorms and then went out through the portrait. It felt like for ever since she had last been on patrol, but it actually hadn't been that long and she was back into the swing of things in no time at all.

It was getting late now and Taylor was near the end of her patrol. She had broken up two couples and sent two first years back to their dorms. She hadn't seen any Ravenclaws around, which hadn't surprised her at all. The Ravenclaws were usually in their dorms already, or in the library and seeing as Taylor didn't go into the library, it made sense that she'd not see them. Yawning and leaning against a wall for a second, Taylor rubbed her eyes. She always lost sleep on patrol night. Not that she particularly cared, it would be nice to get a good nights sleep. It was only when she heard a sound coming from the direction of the staircase that she was alert once more. Standing straight, Taylor flicked her wrist to release her wand and looked around the corner only to be faced with Conan. "poop!" Taylor had to stop herself from walking straight into him. "Bloody hell, Conan. You scared the living daylights out of me." Taylor lowered her wand and slipped it back into her sleeve. She hadn't seen much of Conan at all lately. She was happy to see him, whatever that meant. "What are you doing out here. You're going to get us both in trouble." She whispered, moving him from the staircase and into the corridors by grasping his arm. She couldn't be seen talking to him in the staircase, they'd both be put on detention for sure. It looked like she had swapped one Hufflepuff for another though, which was kind of weird. She wondered if Ai had finished her patrol yet.

Conan Edogawa decided that he had no chance of getting any decent sleep again tonight. It had always been like that ever since he had talked with his aunt and uncle about Ai. It had been more than five years since they had fought and this was the first time he had seriously though of making amend with his sister. He had thought that he'd be able to make it through without his twin, but after the incident at Borely Mansion that he was still far from forgetting and added to that was him and Taylor breaking up, he realized that he needed his sister. But then again, he didn't have the slightest idea on how to make up with her. And then, there was also Taylor wrecking his mind. He often wondered if she was fine and how she was currently doing. There were times when he would take a glance at her in the Great Hall or during the classes they were both together and he would have to mentally hit himself knowing that he was going the opposite of forgetting and moving on. Thus, those two girls had unconsciously had been causing him sleepless nights every now and then. And tonight was the same of course. He scratched his head in annoyance and dressed himself before stealthily sneaking out of the common room.

It was fairly easy for him to sneak out of the common room as he knew that the prefects would be out in the corridors by now doing their rounds. Getting around in the corridors were the fairly risky task, though it was a good thing for him that he mostly managed to escape. Tonight, he decided on staying outside which was a less guarded place compared to several places of the castle. As he descended the stairs though, he had easily avoided most of the prefects making their rounds though he had almost ran into Ai and luckily found a corner to hide into. First of all, he did not want to be caught by a prefect, which happened that his twin was also one and lastly he wasn't really ready to face and talk to her yet so it might not really end happily. When he deemed the surroundings to be safe, he dashed down to the first floor and hid himself in the corner of the entrance hall, praying that Ai would not hear the noise he had made and there was no other prefect in the area.

Seriously, he didn't know if he should consider himself lucky or not. First he almost ran into Ai who happened to be a prefect and one of the reason he wasn't getting any sleep. And now, he ran into Taylor who was another prefect and bothered him just as much as Ai bothered him. He sighed inaudibly at his luck. He had wanted to talk to Taylor though he knew not what to say to her. Truthfully, he missed the Gryffindor a great deal though he couldn't really bring himself to come close to her. He wasn't going to push himself towards her and he didn't want to get hurt while he was nearly healed from the last wound she had given him. He merely stared at her as she reprimanded him and kept her wand on her sleeves. He stayed silent as she practically dragged him from the staircase and to the corridors. "I'm going out. Just hand me in or pretend you didn't see me," he told her whilst scratching the back of his head. Seriously, he didn't care whatever Taylor decided to do, if it was another prefect he would have tried to run but the Gryffindor was different. The Hufflepuff just couldn't help but stare at Taylor's eyes as he wondered what she was going to do with him.

Taylor raised her eyebrows when Conan spoke. She would have at least expected a hello, or something. She wouldn't have thought he would want to avoid her so much that he would extend to being rude. "Calm down. If i turn you in now, we'd both be in trouble, you for being out here and me for letting you get this far out." Taylor stepped back from Conan and crossed her arms, sighing in resignation and looking him over. He looked tired, now that she was getting a proper look at him. She didn't think he had been sleeping somehow. Pushing her hair over her shoulders to fall down her back, Taylor tilted her head to see him from a different angle, but he still looked very tired. She had to wonder at the cause. "Have you been sleeping? You look tired." She told him. Her words were slightly harsher then she would have meant, but she was also tired, granted, likely for different reasons then him. She was tired because her Aunt was tired and Taylor was worried about her health. She had already lost her parents, her cousin and her uncle. She wasn't sure she could survive another loss. Taylor yawned. "I don't really know what to do now. We'll have to wait until your sister finishes her rounds, if we get caught you're in trouble." She added, leaning against the wall. There were a lot of questions she would want to ask him, but she couldn't think of any of them right now. Which was very strange.

Taylor looked around the corner to see if any of the Professor's were around, but she couldn't see anyone. "How many professors did you see on your way down?" Taylor asked, pushing Conan back against the wall when she thought she heard someone, only to sigh in release when she realised it was just one of the ghosts. She knew they were safe from the ghosts, because if any of them actually helped with the patrols, Taylor and the other prefects wouldn't have to worry about anything. Taylor wasn't sure why she was nervous, she didn't actually think there was anything to be worried about to be honest. If she got caught, all she really had to say was that she was escorting him back to his dorm because she was at the end of her patrol and she would continue on to her own dorm afterwards. She wasn't sure what she was going to do now though, seeing as she was panicking slightly over the smallest thing, which she really didn't want to do, considering what had happened last time. "Have you been avoiding me?"

Conan didn't know how the Gryffindor would interpret his behavior or his words. Perhaps he had been a little rude? Maybe, but he really did not know how to interact with her normally. It was like that whatever he did would come as awkward for him and rude or bad or weird for Taylor. "I'm completely calm. If you turn me in I could always say you weren't the one patrolling in the other floors and just caught me a few moments ago. You won't get into too much trouble," the Hufflepuff said with a slight shrug as he scratched the back of his neck awkwardly not knowing if he was doing a very good job at hiding from Taylor that he cared. He was taken by surprise though at her sudden question. He had already stopped scratching the back of his head as he took a few seconds to think about his answer. "I'm okay," he muttered, his gaze was concentrated on anywhere but her. He didn't want to lie to the Gryffindor, though he really didn't want to tell her the truth though. "If I leave now, you won't get in trouble with me, you know. You could go back to your room like nothing happened," he told her as she took a good look at her, duly noting the tired and sleepy appearance she held.

"None. Just prefects and ghosts and other students," Conan responded immediately as he was taken by surprised as Taylor pushed him against the wall. He was not expecting this much close contact, not that he was expecting any contact with her after the incident they had back in Japan. The Hufflepuff let his thoughts fly by as he waited for Taylor to speak or maybe at least bite his head off for wandering around in the corridors at such late hours, but the question she had raised what something he expected but was quite unprepared for. "Not really. I just don't have any reason to go to you," he replied a bit nonchalantly as he shoved his hands in his pockets. In all honesty, the answer to her question was that he wasn't all that sure if he was avoiding her, cause if he was, he was pretty sure with himself that he hadn't been doing a very good job at it considering that he practically knew where she was most of the time. He wanted to avoid her knowing that it would probably do him good with the moving on stuff, but then again, he wasn't really succeeding as he couldn't help himself but be within her vicinity though he would make sure she rarely notices when he would steal glances. Conan knew that he really was a hopeless case.

Taylor nodded as Conan told her that he was fine and that he had only seen a couple of people and no teachers. She was glad of that, she had to admit, she didn't want to have to try and hide him or anything. Sighing, Taylor leaned against the wall slightly. "Conan, why don't I just walk you back to your dorm, I can do that. I'm not letting you go though, I'm sorry I can't, if you go now, they'll know I let you. Someone will probably catch you, I'm sorry if I caught you off guard or something." Taylor wasn't quite sure if she was saying that sarcastically or genuinely, because right now, she was kind of annoyed with Conan. Sure, she had hurt him, she understood that, but he was making it worse. She went and made the effort to explain herself too him and ever since she had left his house that day, he had pretty much been avoiding her and she wasn't too happy about it. Taylor closed her eyes so that she could think about everything that was happening. Now that she had made this decision to take Conan back to his dorm, she was going to have to stay up a little later, not that it was too much of a hassle, after all, his dorm was on the way to her own, but that wasn't the point, could she even be sure that he would stay there after she took him back? He didn't seem to care about himself or her these days, so why did she care so much about him. He had made himself pretty darn clear back at his house. She would have thought she'd have learnt her lesson and she still hadn't figured out what he had said to her. It was in Japanese, and whilst she had looked it up, she couldn't quite remember how the word sounded, so who really knew what word she was looking for anyway!?

Taylor didn't believe Conan when he said that he was okay, but she chose, quite wisely, to keep her mouth shut on the subject. Not even glancing at Conan, Taylor began to pace. She had been quite fidgety all day, but it was getting worse now. She was attempting to calm herself down, because she didn't want another panic attack in front of Conan, especially after last time. However, once he mentioned that he actually wasn't avoiding her, but instead had no reason to be around her, she nearly lost it. Conan had no reason to come to her? What was he thinking saying something like that to her. Taylor sighed and looked at Conan. "You really want to be like that? What the hell did I do Conan? How am I supposed to fix this if you won't even tell me what's wrong!" Taylor paced back and forth in front of Conan trying to figure everything out in her head, but it didn't seem to want to work that way. She didn't know what else to do. "What else do you want me to do, Conan? I apologised about how I acted! What more do you want?" Taylor wanted to patch things up, but it seemed like Conan had other ideas, because he wasn't even trying! "It was just as difficult for me as it was you, you know!" It was true, she should probably be keeping her voice down, but she couldn't help it, she was angry and upset. She didn't know what Conan wanted from her, but she was determined to find out.

Conan really understood what Taylor was trying to say. Who was he kidding anyway? She was a prefect and it meant that she really had to follow the rules, which was the complete opposite of him who wanted to completely ignore the rules. He let his eyes looked at her as she leaned on the wall as she spoke and he nodded his head in understanding. "Fine. I'm sorry too," he grumbled out. He particularly care if he was going to be escorted back to the common room, he could just attempt to sleep again and if it fails, well, he'll think of something. His mind went on in circles waiting for Taylor to say something to him, though he should have expected her reaction. He had the feeling that she was going to be mad at him but that didn't mean that he became mad as well. What was she thinking anyway? That after she came and apologized, everything would be alright? Everything would be back to normal? To the way it was? Sadly for both of them, it wasn't like that. "What more do I want? Are you seriously asking me that?" he rhetorically asked, a dangerous gleam starting in his eyes as he reversed their position, making it so that Taylor's back was against the wall and his arms on either side of her so she can't escape. He had been having a lot of pent-up feelings and while he didn't want to outburst, the Gryffindor was seriously making it hard for him not to do so. "There's a lot more that I want, but that's the problem isn't it? I can't have what I want," he told her, his voice laced with longing and sadness.

"But, I know. Let's start with you leaving me alone," Conan told her as he looked at her in the eyes that showed her he was dead serious. He really didn't want it to be like this, but with Taylor acting like nothing happened was making it quite hard for him to keep up. And more so, she was starting to get really curious about how he was acting. Of course, he couldn't move on that easily and of course he was trying to avoid her, but it was not like he wanted to keep it up forever. He just wanted to stay away until he was sure that he wouldn't bother her anymore with how he really felt about her. Because he didn't want to be a bother to her, he just wanted to see her smile like before, though it seemed that the original plan was backfiring on him. Though that still didn't change the fact that he wanted to move cause the longer he doesn't, the more pain he felt. "You really want to know why I'm avoiding you? I'm moving on, Taylor and I'm not a doing a very good job at it," he told her honestly. There was no point in lying anymore, not with Taylor being this angry and this upset. He just hoped she would understand though cause their was already pain and anger boiling inside of him because he can't move on from her. "Cause every f*cking time I always want to be near you and it isn't really helping!" Conan said not managing to bring his voice down as his fist unconsciously connected with the wall beside Taylor with a powerful punch.

After his short outburst, Conan's head hung low as he spoke softly just enough for her to hear. "I just want to move on Taylor and when you came to Japan you just made everything harder. I'm not exactly as fast as moving on as you are," he was being evil by accusing her, he knew. But perhaps, she would hate him and she would avoid him and he could try moving on again. He was seriously slow and he was totally hopeless. It had been a year since Taylor broke up with him anyway, and it had been more than half a year since she came to him in Japan. And yet, he was still broken. Nothing changed in that span of time. "You made me feel useless. Do you know how much it hurts to be useless to the person you love?" he asked her as he finally looked into her eyes again before putting his arms back to his sides and turning around so his back would face her. "I'm going back to the common room. Do what you want," he muttered loud enough for her to hear as he started to walk back to the direction of the common room, not even bothering to sneak around. He wondered if Taylor got his message. He wondered if Taylor understood he loved her. He hoped she would not pity him cause he knew that it would just show more pain on his features.

Taylor yelped in sudden surprise when she was suddenly pushed against the wall with Conan's arms on either side of her head. This was a position that she had never been in before, but she knew from various movies that it meant Conan was about to be extremely serious. She licked her lips slightly in sheer nervousness as she looked up at Conan who had always been taller then her, but at this moment, he looked like a giant. He hadn't even grown as far as she knew, but right now he looked about twelve feet tall. Conan started speaking and Taylor kept her eyes on his the entire time. The emotions she saw swirling in their depths, shocked, scared, awed and angered her. He was acting as if he was the only injured party in all of this, but was he really? She understood that he had been angry because she had just dumped him out of the blue, but what else could she do. Then when she went to apologise, she thought she had made things better, but she had obviously been having an entirely different conversation then what he'd had, because it didn't seem that anything was better at all. Taylor wasn't even sure what he wanted anymore. At first she had thought it might be an apology, but she had apologised to him and he was still angry. What else was there! He mentioned again that he wanted her to leave him alone and as he said those words, tears of anger and frustration began to pool at he corners of her eyes, but she was determined that they would not fall. She wasn't going to give him the satisfaction. She wasn't this person, not normally, Conan made her weak. She couldn't be tough and tomboyish with him, she had tried, but she had progressively gotten more and more girly. Was it any wonder she was getting emotional now?

Taylor jumped and flinched slightly when Conan's hand connected to the wall beside her head. She was sick and tired of him doing things like that because one of these days he was going to do serious irreversible damage and then what would he do? He'd have a mangled hand and nothing but his deep seething anger to make him feel better. But that wasn't going to make him feel better, because anger never did. She knew that. Despite everything, Taylor was still mad at Ai and it honestly physically hurt when she thought about the girl. Despite everything, Ai and Taylor had only made things between them worse until it came to the point where they could barely be in the same room and then the forbidden forest happened. Even though they still weren't friends, Taylor didn't seem to hate Ai as much and she was sure it was mostly mutual. Unconciously, Taylor moved to reach out to Conan, to touch his face, or perhaps his shoulder, but the anger and frustration inside her made her drop her hand again and instead push at Conan's chest trying to move him. She was not successful however and simply looked back up at Conan as he continued to speak, though this time he held his head low and spoke with an extremely soft voice. Taylor had to strain to be able to hear him. However, what he said to her was the last straw and as soon as he finished accusing her of moving on, she brought her hand up to connect with his cheek - only to stop with his next words. For several long seconds, Taylor's hand kind of just hung in the air as her brain tried to process all the new information. Had she actually just heard? What?

Love. That was what he had said, she was sure of it. Dropping her hand to her side, her mouth hanging open slightly, looking over at Conan even as he turned his back on her. She made him feel useless because he loved her? Was that what he had tried to say back in Japan. She never had gotten around to deciphering that little sentence and seeing as she couldn't even remember what he had said, deciphering it had not been going to happen. It was strange to hear the word allowed. Love. It was not something Taylor tended to think about because she always ended up losing the people she loved. What even was love? Sixteen years old. Just a teenager, there was no way she was old enough with enough worldly experience to know what love even was. Was Conan guilt tripping her now? He had started to walk away in the time it took her to process the fact that he had said he loved her and had walked away. Some where in the back of here mind, she realised that she had been invited to escort him back, but presently there were more important things for her brain to focus on. This was a weird time to tell her that he loved her wasn't it? Though she supposed it wasn't the worst time to tell someone. She had seen some movies with even worse confessions such as these. Deciding she was mad at him after all, Taylor frowned, glared after Conan and then rushed to catch up. Pushing him as hard as she could, Taylor glared up at him. "What gives you the f*cking right?" Trying to avoid her was one thing, but saying something like that, saying he loved her, that was just cruel.

Conan knew that what he did was not going to do him anything good. If anything, it made him feel guilty telling Taylor those things. But seriously, what else could he do? He's been trying to stay silent about it all this time but the Gryffindor girl constantly being near him and constantly trying to fix stuff between them surely wasn't helpful in his part. Well, for one thing, Taylor acting like nothing has happened between them was giving the Hufflepuff hope and he was assuming that it's a bad thing. After all, if he continued to hope that somehow, somehow the Gryffindor girl just might love him back and then finding out that there was no chance at all, he might end up getting crushed worse than he had initially been. In fact, at some point he wanted to hate her. Cause maybe if he did and then forgave her soon, they'd be fine. But it was the total opposite. He loved her and he could forgive her, but the pain wasn't leaving soon. This was all too confusing. Ryuuji-senpai was right, love is worse than mathematics. And as if to make matters worse, he was a sixteen-year-old. Conan knew there was nothing wrong with falling in love at that age, but then again, others could easily mock him and accuse him of not knowing anything about love. Well, it was true that he knew little to nothing about love and that he didn't need to think about it. But one thing he was sure of. He loves Taylor.

But as Conan continued to walk away, he thought that it didn't matter anymore. He had told her and that was the end of it. Well, at least he thought that was the end of their conversation. Until Taylor pushed him hard and he turned his head to look at her, his eyes wide with surprise and confusion at what the hell she was mad about. Was she mad that he confessed? That he loved her? "F*cking right to what Taylor?! To tell you something like that? You're the one who wanted to know the truth, Taylor and there you have it. Now don't blame me for something I have no control over," he told her trying to hide his features thanks to the dark corridors. He didn't want to show her how pained he was as they continued the conversation. He didn't want more of this. He wanted to get out now, he needed to get away from her and calm himself down. Conan waited for Taylor to say something, anything even though waiting was the complete of what he wanted to do.

Taylor could see in his eyes that he was pretty confused, but so was she. Who came out and said something like that anyway, it just wasn't done. If Taylor wasn't thinking straight, she might've even pulled her wand on him, but that would be instant loss of Prefect status and maybe even an expulsion, which was something she did not want. She had worked hard for this badge and no-one was taking it away from her. She stepped closer to him slightly and put her hands on either side of his head, much as he had done to her earlier and was about to speak again, when she stopped. He was serious about what he said? Like he was actually really and truly serious about loving her? She thought it was a joke, she thought he was just saying that, making her angry or maybe to make her forgive him or maybe it was to push her away, but no... she could see it in his eyes. He was actually being honest with her. She wasn't sure what to do. Taylor dropped her hands from beside his head and stepped away from him, turning her back to him as she did so. So many emotions were running through her head and she didn't know what to do. She hadn't experienced this before, this was what he said to her that time at his house, she was sure of it. She could feel it now, she had known it then too, but she had ignored it, she always did. It was her defense mechanism, she turned away and ignored people when they got to close, because she was losing her family and she didn't want to lose him too, she could only think of one thing to do, but she wasn't sure how to do it.

What felt like minutes were actually seconds as Taylor stood with her back to Conan. She wasn't trying to cut him off, but she needed to think, however, she was done thinking now. Turning her head slightly to look over her shoulder, a trail of tears was quite visible as she turned her body to follow. Licking her lips slightly, Taylor moved back towards Conan and attacked his mouth with her own. She had never kissed Conan like this before, not passionately or even particularly desperately, but the occasion called for it now. She shoved all her emotions into this and she didn't want to leave anything out. Breaking away from the kiss, Taylor pushed her forehead against Conan's and with tried to catch her breath. "Marry me, Conan."

Conan felt like he stood there for hours as Taylor turned her back on him. He really didn't know what to do. He had always established himself to be strong when his parents had died. He had to be strong for Ai and when he and Ai had fought during their first year, he found no reason to be strong about. He had long moved on from their parents' deaths and he was easily taken in by the rest of their family. Then he grew to like and eventually fall in love with Taylor, and with how vulnerable she seemed at the time, Conan made himself strong for her. And he eventually found out that he wasn't as strong as he wanted himself to be when Taylor had broken up with him for a reason he used to knew not. And then there was that incident in the Borely Mansion as well. After that, he realized that he also had to be strong for himself because if he didn't, he would be crushed easily when he gets hurt again. And that was something he wanted to avoid, after all, he had seen Ai crushed so many times that he could barely imagine how painful it could be. Now, with Taylor and her back towards him, he was having a hard time keeping that strength he built together. None of them moved and none of them spoke.

Conan was almost about to give up and leave Taylor, thinking that she probably turned her back so he would just leave. But he was dead wrong. When she turned her head, he didn't miss those tears of hers that pained him as he knew he had caused those. Though what caught him by surprise was when her lips collided with his in a passionate and seemingly desperate kiss. He and Taylor never shared a kiss like this before, but he didn't care as he wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him and placed his other hand to the back of her head to deepen their kiss even more as he kissed her back with everything he had to give. He didn't know how long they kissed before Taylor pulled away and though Conan didn't want to end it just yet, he knew all to well they both needed air. Though the next words that came out from the girl's lips took him by complete surprise. She was asking him to marry her. No, it didn't sound like a question at all. It was more of a statement. It meant she loved him right?! Of course it did! Otherwise she wouldn't have told him something like that. "Shouldn't I be the one telling you that?" he said with a wide grin plastered to his face before he let his lips connect with hers once again.

Whilst Taylor would have been quite happy to just stand there kissing Conan, she knew she had to further explain what she had just said. After all, she didn't exactly want to be engaged at sixteen, not to mention she didn't have a ring or anything and this was all very spontaneous. She had asked Conan to marry her as her way of promising never to break up with him again. She wasn't promising they wouldn't fight, because even Merlin knew they would, seeing as there was so much they agreed on, but she would never find fault in his ability to help her ever again. Of course, it hadn't entirely been his inability to see her suffering, it had also been her constant vigilance in hiding the pain behind a mask. One that he had gotten through in the end only to find that she was breaking up with him for his efforts. She really couldn't blame him for that. He had done so much to try and help her, the least she could do now was give him the benefit of the doubt and start from scratch. Breaking the kiss and again finding herself short of breath, Taylor stepped back and ran her hand through her hair nervously. She hoped he didn't take this the wrong way.

"Of course, in saying that, Conan, I don't actually mean that I want to get married right now, or even next year or the year after, yeah?" She asked, raising a hand to caress his cheek. "It's meant as a promise, that one day we'll do it for real, we'll get married when we think the time is right and we will support each other, and most of all, I won't abandon you when things get hard." She continued and was about to speak again when she heard the voice of someone she was least expecting. Eyes widening, Taylor looked around to find Ai standing at the end of the corridor, clearly having heard what Taylor had just said. "Ai..." Taylor dropped her hand from Conan's face, because really, she didn't know what else she was supposed to do.

Ai had finished her patrol long ago. In fact, she had roamed around the second, third and fourth floors for a bit and of course, as per usual, deliberately avoided the Fifth Floor Corridors. That place held too many memories of her and Heath that it was hard to ignore and forget. It was too painful to go there and roam around the place like nothing happened, especially since they had broken up not too long ago. It had only been a few months ago though she knew that by now she should actually be in the progress of moving on, though she was sure that she was making little to no progress at all, even if she did mountains of work. She worked more than usual ever since and resorted to overworking herself so it would be easier to sleep. Other times she would just wander around the halls till her feet were sore and blistered and she could barely walk another step. This was one of those days that she was trying to tire herself. And now that she was convinced that she was ready to sleep, she just had to make sure that Taylor was done with her patrol. They were supposed to be partners after all, but they agreed that they would be more efficient when separated. And so she made her way downstairs in search of the Gryffindor.

Well, she was quite thankful that she found Taylor quite easily though the sight that greeted her was quite unexpected. She was kissing Conan! And then Taylor told her brother to marry her! And he actually agreed! And they were kissing again. Seriously, Ai felt that she shouldn't be watching this and she should either break them apart or just leave. Aside from that different emotions were swelling up within her right now, though she couldn't identify all but the one that stood out the most. Jealousy. Yes, Ai was jealous of Conan and Taylor and right now she was regretting that she and Heath had broken up. What the Japanese girl wouldn't give to experience what her brother and Taylor were doing now. Normally, she would have gotten angry instantly, but now, all she could think about was Heath, that was what her problems and emotions revolved around in right now. And so she cleared her throat when she got too uncomfortable with the whole situation. When they both looked at her she rubbed her arm uncomfortably. "I... uh... Finished my patrol. I'm heading back," she muttered mostly to Taylor before she looked at both of them. "So.. Getting married, huh? Congratulations, you two," she said before walking away and heading back quickly to the Hufflepuff dormitories. After seeing Conan and Taylor, she just missed Heath even more.

Conan was completely content with kissing Taylor and he had to admit that he wanted to whine like a little kid whenever she pulled away though he knew all too well that they both needed oxygen to actually stay alive. And being alive was a big requirement in order to kiss again right? The 'Puff shook his head to straighten his thoughts. He was being greedy with kisses now and well, he really should control that more. And even when Taylor explained stuff to him, he frankly didn't care. All he cared about was that she loved him and someday they were getting married. He was grinning like it was something permanent on his face. Though that grin disappeared when he turned his head and caught sight of his sister standing there awkwardly. He was about to speak but he couldn't help his jaw from dropping when Ai actually congratulated them and walked away. Just like that. He turned his head to ask the Gryffindor on what the hell that was about but it seemed that she was as clueless as he was. Shrugging it off and deciding to think about it sooner than now, he took Taylor's hand in his and gave her a kiss to her forehead. "Come on. Let's head back. But we're sneaking. I don't want any encounters with the rest of the prefects," he said with a small chuckle as he laced his fingers with hers and pulled her with him up the staircase.
