Avie Mitchell had decided for halloween to be a rock or most specifically as his little pet rock Rockie, he loved rocks so much and he loved Rockie so much he had decided his costume had to be Rockie. He had spray his hair so that it would be grey, and was wearing grey face paint on his face and neck, and the rest of his costume was an old bed sheet, which had different shades of grey to give Avie that rock-like appearance. He was pretty sure he'd managed the costume perfectly and on top of this, he had dressed Rockie up as himself, as Avie, he had stuck some his own hair to the top of the rock with magical glue, and then with the help of a small paintbrush, and painted a slytherin-looking tie on the front, and with a backwards S at the side beside the tie as if it was supposed to be the slytherin crest on the side beside the crest and given it a little tiny stick as a wand. It was sitting happily on Avie's shoulder as Avie in his costume made his way downstairs to the great hall.

For the purposes on his costume Avie had decided to not bother with his shoes, lacking a grey pair and instead was wearing greyish looking socks. He wandered into the Great Hall, and tried to spot anyone that he knew but Avie was bad enough at spotting people anyway, and he assumed that Lucien would be with Clara and he hadn't seen Bothie in a while and was wondering where he might've ended up, hopefully just busy. He couldn't see Esme either, but the teen doubted that this was her kind of scene, but he kind of hope that he would have someone to talk to. But, really, Avie just made his way over to the sweet table and began stuffing his face with sweets as he glanced around the hall. He swallowed most of them whole and then placed the rock down on the table and pretend to feed it sweets, while actually just eating them himself. Once he had another handful of sweets, he placed the rock back on his shoulder and just started moving around the hall until he found something to do, or the sugar just caused him to start running.

Jonathon had always been a nerd. He had read countless comics and spent far too many hours playing video games as a kid, to the point where anyone who knew him at a surface value would probably assume Halloween was his favourite time of year. However in all honestly, Jon no longer cared for Halloween. It now seemed like too much effort for one night. Planning and later putting together a costume just to act like someone else. Sure, the idea appealed to him as a child when he enjoyed pretending to be a superhero and eating candy though now he had completely grown out of any of the Halloween festivities. Tonight, Jonathon would have rather spent his time in his office or at home though he had decided to attend the Halloween feast simply out of the feeling it was his duty than anything else.

He strolled into the great hall in his usual professor attire, admiring the decorations as he made his way towards the snack table while looking all too mundane in comparison to all the interesting costumes the students had donned on the night. He picked up a handful of sweets from one of the bowls and slowly ate them as he continued to take in the Halloween atmosphere of the hall while alternately searching for another professor to make small talk with. When his eyes found no one he decided to walk around and speak to the nearest student which just to happened to be Avie Mitchell. Someone he knew from his classes that appeared to be dressed as some sort of grey ghost, though he assumed the costume was supposed to be a rock. Jonathon was really not surprised considering how enthusiastic Avie had been over the amount of rocks in the Snow White film he suggested the boy watch earlier in the year. "Hey Avie." He greeted in a cheerful tone. "You're really rocking that costume." He tried not to laugh at his own pun. "You're actually supposed to be a stone, though, right?"

Despite the headache that she had, Emily was determined to attend the Halloween Feast and to have a great time. She didn't really have a costume this year, she supposed she'd forgotten it in all of her hurry and so she decided on a simple costume. She wore normal muggle clothes and some dark contacts. She was to be attending as a demon. Demons had black eyes because they had no soul, or so the movies said and she'd never seen a demon without black or red eyes. It was all very creepy, but Emily was excited! She'd seen the nurse earlier in the day to get some potions for her headache, but they didn't seem to be working too well. No matter, she was prepared. She wouldn't need to stay the whole night, but she simply had to go. She wouldn't forgive herself if she missed it.

Heading into the Great Hall, Emily smiled at a couple of her friends and waved at her cousin who was talking to a boy she didn't know. She doubted that Logan would be here, but if he was she would stick to him like glue. She'd been a little overwhelmed with study lately and hadn't had much time to see him and so she'd not been able to ask him if he was okay, though she was sure that Nico would tell her if there was a problem. She really hoped he was doing okay. She soon spotted Avie, he looked like he was dressed as...something. A Professor was with him. She walked up to them and smiled at them both. She was a little bit tired, but she'd deal. "Hi! You look great Avie!" She looked at the Professor and tried to find something to compliment with his lack of Halloween costume. She finally settled on his shoes and grinned. "And you look great too Professor, nice shoes!"

Avie had arrived at the feast looking to just have fun, or spend some time with his friends, but he couldn't find his friends and though the teen always managed to have fun on his own, this was just one way in which he was just struggling to get started, but the moment that his Muggle Studies professor ended up beside him, the teen had grown to really like the professor, of course never as much as he loved professor Styx but the man was pretty neat and he'd given Avie the idea of using muggle animated films with subtitles to help him with his reading difficulties. So far he hadn't seen much improvement, but he was really enjoying the films, loving Snow White the most, the dwarves with their mining for rocks, he had loved that and his favourite of all of them was Dopey, the teen just loved everything about it, and he definitely felt like Lucien was Grumpy, or happy, he was both, generally it just depended on the circumstance in which he was talking to his best friend. But, the tee looked up at the professor with a friendly smile, "Hey Jon," Avie replied warmly before nodding at his question.

"Tonight I'm stoned and Rockie's Teened, instead of the other way a round" Avie told him proudly looking at the costume of both himself and then motioned to his rock as well, "I'm literally not just any stone, I'm dressed as Rockie's and Rockie is dressed as me," the teen told him very proud of his self made rock costume and his rocks little costume too explaining the costumes though the professor would likely figure it out. Just at that moment someone else walked over to them, and Avie was greeted by them, he looked at spotting the black eyes the boy jumped and then screamed out in fright, but it took a few moments for him to realise it was just Emily, his friend. Avie was bent over breathing deeply but he waved at her, as she greeted both him, and then the professor, "What are you?" he exclaimed in a breath, before standing back up, and then looking down at the professor's shoes which had been brought to his attention by her, they seemed like any other shoes, but he ignored that, "Have you seen Rockie?" he asked her turning so she would be able to See the rock on his shoulder that he'd dressed up as him, "I made both our costumes myself!" he told them both happily, "I couldn't really make anything else, but I love rocks so much so it's fine! This is my best costume ever!"

Jonathon picked a piece of candy from his hand and popped it into his mouth as Avie answered his question, immediately covering his face with his other hand at the answer and trying with all his might to hold back his instinct to continue making terrible puns. Stoned, was he? Jon's head began to fill with endless comments he could have made from that one, poorly placed word, though he bit back all of them knowing that for the sake of professionalism, his only option would be not to comment on the answer in any way and direct the subject to something else. The professor began to think of another subject to talk about though realized he did not need to make the effort when another student approached them, changing the subject for him when her costume enticed a reaction from Avie.

He smiled as Avie screamed at the girl's costume, and again chose not to make a comment until the girl complimented his shoes. His shoes were basic dress shoes and nothing different to what he'd usually wear around the school so the compliment was unexpected and quite frankly caught him off guard, though he decided a compliment was a compliment and he may as well thank the girl for trying in spite of the fact her words were unnecessary. "Thanks." He said, not really sure how to respond or how he was supposed to act around these two students who were obviously friends with each other. Jon felt a bit like a fish out of water and decided that the girl's arrival would be his queue to leave soon if it wasn't his queue to leave already but he chose to stay a moment longer simply for the sake of it. "Your costume is original, Avie. I'll give you that." He chuckled slightly.
