Professor Styx leads the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. He reveals the rules as well as the point system. He walks off the stage and orders the duel to begin, as he keeps a watchful eye.​

All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.

The duel begins now. If someone doesn't post after 24 hours, they are disqualified.

Mazikeen liked the challenge of a duel and was certainly eager to give it a try. The teen had her wand out and bowed to the person she was fighting, some hufflepuff she knew from her classes but fifn't know particularly beyond that. She gave them a warm and friendly expression before casting the first spell, "Furnunculus,"

Analei loved the Dueling Tournament. She had won the previous year, and wasn't planning on getting beaten this year. Analei had seen Mazikeen around in classes, but they had never spoken before. After a small bow, Mazikeen got the first spell in. Scowling, Analei used Protego, before shooting her own spell. "Tarantallegra!"

Mazikeen blocked the girl's spell as it rushed towards her. She liked that spell though. It was a fun one. But, there was no time to do that. She sent quickly back an Antler jinx to the girl. Something that wouldn't take her out but would be good to see.

The Gryffindor girl was fast, and Analei barely had time to think before she was hit with a spell. Cursing, Analei had no idea what it was until she felt things growing out of her head. The antler jinx. Analei groaned, knowing how ridiculous she would look but she had no time to dwell, as she angrily shot a spell back at Mazikeen. "Stupefy!"

Mazikeen was surprised when her spell hit. The girl looked a little ridiculous with the antlers, and she couldn't help the little chuckle as she looked at it and was just able to get her own shield up in time to prevent herself from being knocked out. Maze didn't waste much time and instead fired back, "Tarantallegra"

Analei felt her cheeks flush when the girl laughed at what she looked like. Using the time, Analei quickly muttered "Finite." She couldn't linger too long on her embarrassment and frustration as Mazikeen quickly shot another spell. Analei quickly jumped out of the way, before shooting another spell back. "Expelliarmus!"

Mazikeen was a little disappointed when the girl got rid of the antlers which she had so kindly given her. It had been interesting. The girl dodged the spell that came back at her and then cast, "Stupefy,"

Analei moved out of the way quickly as the girl shot her own spell back. She was very fast. Analei was growing frustrated, and sent the trip spell back at the girl.

Mazikeen blocked the spell as it raced towards her. The girl was enjoying this, it was good fun. She wanted to win, but she felt like enjoying it too. The girl sent back an easy spell back to her, "Petrificus Totalus," back at the girl, she was getting a little tired, but she could keep going.

Analei blocked the spell again, letting out a sigh. She had to win this, there was no way she could win last year's and then get knocked out on the first round. Feeling the frustration in her blood, Analei shot another "Stupefy!" at the girl.
