Rose had no clue what her fear was going to be and that combined with the fact that she didn't want to show it to her class made her decide to do the class in private. She had politely asked the Professor and her friends if they wanted to support her, she didn't mind that they would know her deepest and darkest fears. It could be something mundane like a blizzard ruining her precious plants. Even thinking about it made her sick already, but somehow she had the feeling it wasn't going to be that easy.

Since they had the lesson about boggarts Rose felt a weird feeling in her stomach. She couldn't pinpoint the feeling, but it was always looming. This feeling had made her decide to do the boggart in a closed group. She couldn't skip this lesson she had said the Professor she was going to be devoted for one last year. This was her last year of Defense Against The Dark Arts and that meant she was going to grow some balls and face her boggart.

She walked over to the Professor's office to meet with her friends and the Professor in her somewhat sweaty hands her steady mate Edgar the succulent.

Estella knew that her next Defence Against The Dark Arts class could be very confronting. She wasn't quite sure what her deepest fear would be and the thought of that was very unsettling. So many different thoughts ran through her head about what it could be. Perhaps a spider, a snake, a magical beast? She really didn't know, and so she was glad that her friend had suggested that they do this privately in the professor's office. She didn't want the class to laugh or judge her for whatever her fear was and so was very thankful for this opportunity.

The girl felt her palms sweat as she walked slowly to the professor's office. She wasn't quite sure if she was ready for this. As she saw Rosemarie already waiting at the door, she smiled at her, noticing she had brought her succulent with her for some support, which was definitely going to be needed. "I'm nervous." Estella told her friend truthfully, wondering if she had felt the same.

When Rose asked Tilly to join her for a small session with the boggart, of course she agreed. Tilly was nothing if not a good friend. She had encountered her boggart in class before, and thought she was ready to face her ghastly fear again. Tilly smiled weakly at Estella. It was hard not to be nervous.

Lydia offered the option of a private boggart lesson to all of her third years to increase the likelihood that they would complete the requirements of the course. For some students, it would be cruel to expose their deepest fear in a public setting. “Is this all of you?” Lydia asked, addressing Rosemarie. She wasn’t sure if Rose had said the group would consist of three or four Hufflepuffs. Lydia stood in front of the rattling wardrobe, sipping on a cup of tea as she looked back at the three girls.

Soon Tilly and Estella joined her in front of the classroom. Rose nodded ''Yeah, I am nervous too'' Rose said to her friend. Soon after the Professor opened her door and Rose felt her nerves rise. ''Yes, Professor'' Rose had learned to be friendly, the Professor wasn't the problem, her subject was. She just disliked Defense Against the Dark Arts. Rose looked over at the wardrobe that was currently rattling, ''Is it in there?'' Rose asked the Professor. ''What do I do?''

Lydia straightened and nodded towards the wardrobe. She had thought it was clear from the demonstration and the last class, but she had no problem explaining things again. “When I open the door, it will take the form of my boggart, the hidebehind, if you remember. Then I will step aside. That means it will turn to one of you and take the form of your deepest fear.” Lydia smiled encouragingly. “What you need to do is concentrate on making your fear comical. Along with casting Riddikulus.” She repeated the incantation again so the Hufflepuff girls would have it down.

When she thought the girls seemed ready enough- well, as ready as they ever would be, she opened the door with a flick of her wand. Out came the hidebehind, with its ghastly claws and icy blue eyes. Then, Lydia moved to stand behind her students, watching as the hidebehind transformed into the fear of the first girl that caught its attention.

Estella balled her hands into fists to stop them from shaking as the professor spoke. Rosemarie then asked if the boggart was in the wardrobe, which it definitely was. It seemed itching to get out as it rocked side to side and Estella really didn't want it to escape. She wanted to walk away and not do this part of the class but she knew that would consequently make her fail the course, which she really didn't want. The girl just watched as the professor stood in front of the boggart first, and Estella wondered how she wasn't still so fearful of the hide behind as the professor just casually took a step to the side. Estella knew her friends were also nervous, especially since Tilly hadn't said anything yet, and so when the boggart was exposed to the three of them, Estella's adrenaline kicked in and she took a small step forward, just wanting to get it over and done with in the moment.

The hide behind quickly changed shape and flames formed around the wardrobe, consuming it as it began roaring out of control. Her father stood in front of it, his skin peeling away as the fire engulfed him too. He was melting. He was going to die. Estella didn't know what to do. Her father was dying.

Screams escaped Estella's lips as she tried to duck from the spitting fire. It was only getting worse, but Estella wasn't a hero and she couldn't save him. She had no hero instincts and this definitely wasn't the situation for her. But her father was crumbling and she knew what she had to do. She pointed her wand at the fire in front of her. "R-Riddikulus!" She squealed and ducked as more fire spat in her direction. She looked towards the professor for some salvation but knew it ultimately had to be up to her. It was then that she imagined the fire differently. She tried her best to imagine pretty flowers in its place as she raised her wand again. "Riddikulus." she said with much more confidence this time. She watched as the fire broke apart into hundreds of small rose petals that floated down around her father and onto the ground. Her father then disappeared with it and the boggart went hiding back into the wardrobe again. She had done it.

Rose wished the instrution woud have taken longer. Trying to stall the whole thing, but soon it was time to go. The Professor opened the wardrobe and her boggart showed its appearance. Estella was in the front and Rose wondered what hers was going to be.

The boggart took the appearance of a male figure and Rose could see the figure has some resemblance to Estella. She guessed it was her dad that was currently dying in front of her. The fire that Estella her father seemed to be in changed into a bunch of rose petals, it did look cool.

Rose was up next and she wasn’t ready. She looked at the wardrobe and once it opened Rose knew why she hadn’t wanted to do it in front of the class.
‘’Lynn’’ Rose was in shock. In front of her was Lynn her own sister trampling her favourite part of the garden. Rose her wand hand shacked uncontrollably and Rose didn’t know what to do. Her sister looked menacing and Rose was engulfed with fear and she felt terribly. ‘’Why Lynn’’ Rose started to cry, tears streaming down her face. ‘’ Riddikulus’’ Rose muttered, it didn’t come out clear and Rose couldn't think of anything comical.

Why did it have to be her, Rose couldn't and her legs felt numb. ''Help'' was the only thing she could say before she felt her vision getting darker. Fainting in front of her boggart and lovely sister.

Tilly felt that her fear was stupid all over again as she watched Estella deal with the boggart. The flames and someone that had to be related to her burning alive were absolutely horrifying. Luckily, Estella was able to dispatch the threat after a few tries. Her friend Rose wasn’t so fortunate. She was shocked when Rose fainted. At Professor Drage’s instruction, Tilly stepped in front of Rose, engaging the boggart.

It turned into that ridiculous Hogwarts Monthly again, every article detailing what a terrible person she was and how Elliot was glad to kick her off the team. Rationally, she knew no one would write a paper like that, but she was scared to lose the one thing she enjoyed about school. Trembling, she rose her wand, more confidently than last time. “Riddikulus,” she said with as much presence as she could muster. This time, the paper evaporated into a soft rain. Tilly stepped away and hoped that was the end of it for today.

Lydia watched as Estella dealt with the boggart. Her grisly fear aside, she did quite well. Lydia found that finding laughter in frankly traumatizing situations was the hardest part of dealing with one’s fear in animated form.

The boggart having retreated for now, Lydia locked the doors of the wardrobe. She stepped forward and revived Rosemarie with a soft ‘Rennervate.’ She stood up and said gently, “Would you like another round with the boggart, Miss Chatwin?” In her main class, some of the students had flat out refused or were incapable of casting Riddikulus. Rosemarie could choose to do so as well, although it would really be only cheating herself.
