🌹 Rose Giving Yellow Like the Morning Light

Lilith headed for her own house table for breakfast, but before finding a place to eat at she looked for Freddie. She'd gotten a rose to deliver for the boy and what better moment than at the crack of dawn at breakfast. "Freddie! I have a rose for you!" She said happily before plopping down next to the first year.

Freddie's mind was racing as he sat down for breakfast that morning. Was he gonna get any roses? Would Rose send him a rose? Would she like his rose? Would she know it was from him? What about everyone else? He'd put his name on Declan's, 'cause it was pretty funny, he thought, and he didn't want anyone else pretending like they wrote it. Other than that, he'd forgotten everything he'd written.

Maybe he wouldn't get any. He was just thinking that, and buttering some toast, when Lili suddenly sat down beside him. "Yay!" he said. "I mean, yay," he said, in a more cool voice.​

Lilith gave Freddie a funny look as he seemed very enthusiastic about receiving a rose. She pulled out the yellow rose and gave it to the first year. "Here you go! Have you got many deliveries to do today?" She knew she had quite a few so it was interesting to see what everyone else got.

Freddie took the rose. He didn't really wanna read the note right there, in front of Lilith, but he couldn't wait to see what it said, so he pulled it off and opened it up. It was from Rose! But... it was only a yellow one. But she did put a kiss. What did that mean? Did she like him, or not?

"Like, seven," he said, gesturing to the jug on the table. "I'm gonna do them after I ate. Thank you." He held up the rose. "Declan better send me one too, though. I sent him one. A red one. 'Cause he's my best friend." Freddie put Rose's rose in the jug with the ones he needed to deliver and carried on eating his toast. "How many have you got left?"​

Lilith looked at the jug that Freddie's roses sat in and nodded. Seven was a fair amount. She then let out a small laugh at his words. "I'm sure he'll send you one." She said reassuringly. If he didn't well then that was that she supposed but she doubted he wouldn't. "Yours was my first of the day so I have six left." Lili responded looking down at the roses she had left. "Best keep going, hope you have a good rest of your day and get some deliveries done Freddie!" The third year said as she got up from her seat, ready to continue on her mission to deliver.

Freddie wondered what color that one would be. Probably yellow. Or maybe Declan would think it was funny to send a red one, too. "Okay, see you," Freddie said, before he fully realised what she'd said. He was gonna do his deliveries! Soon! He couldn't do them if he was hungry. Lili was already going, but he leaned back to call after her. "I'm eating toast!"​
