September was no time at all for an outdoor event, so rather than bother with heating up the courtyard and putting up charms to shield students from the pounding rain, Kahurangi had instead opted to move the club fair indoors this year. With a few flicks of her wand the student dining tables and chairs folded themselves off to the sides of the room, making way for seven smaller tables she conjured into existence, each adorned with a banner bearing the name of one of the student clubs, with plenty of space for the leaders to set up however they liked to entice new members to their clubs. Her job done, Kahurangi took a seat by the head table with a cup of tea, settling in to supervise the fair and assist any students who may need it.

Eoghan hadn't been expecting to be running the paper on his own this year. Last year he'd had Miranda to ask questions, but this time around he didn't have a co-editor and it was a daunting prospect that there was no one else around him to check in with. If anything, he was now supposed to be the one others looked to, even more so now he had a prefect badge. It wasn't the type of role he often found himself in, and frankly he didn't know how well this was going to go just yet.

The fifth year had arrived in the Great Hall to the room transformed for the event, the tables lined up and decorated with banners. At least anyone who wanted to sign up to the Hogwarts Monthly would know where to go. Eoghan had brought with him some of their previous issues for students to peruse at their leisure, but additionally in the centre of the stand, lay a handful of questions. In the pile were things such as If you could teach any subject for a day, what would it be? or How has your experience of Hogwarts differed from the experience you expected to have when you joined? They were just there to get students thinking about things they could write about, or things they could read in the issues that were to come. Although Eoghan was feeling awkward, he knew he was going to have to do something to entice new students to join, especially the first years. He couldn't really find in himself to strike up a conversation with another person out of the blue, it felt too unnatural, as though he was trying to sell something. He resorted to waiting until someone came to him, and just had to hope he'd have a good answer for them in return.

Naveen had been only a little surprised when he was selected to take over the Wild Patch Club, obviously he was the best choice but part of him was convince no one realized he existed. Or realized how much work he put in after hours to make sure the garden thrived. But thankfully, his hard work had been rewarded. He had some pretty grand plans for getting the club more involved with the garden's general upkeep but for now he had to focus on the club fair. This was probably the responsibility as club leader he was least excited for but he had tried his best. He had also asked Dhivya for some help putting together the banner that hung across the front of the table, and some photos of previous club events from the yearbook which were placed neatly on the top along with overflowing vases of flowers set up on each end of the table. He also had a bowl of sweets next to the sign up sheet. He wasn't above some bribery to get some new members interested. Now he just had to wait.

If you would like to join the Wild Patch Club or have any questions about the club, please at me @Naveen Khatri !

Deep down, Dhivya didn't think she would ever stop worrying about her brother. It had been her number one concern since the moment they were born, and however much Naveen managed to prove himself over the years, she couldn't help the compulsive need to hover, to help, to take over whatever she could for her brother. Case in point, Dhivya had found herself along for the ride helping to set up the fair booth for a club she wasn't even a member of. She made sure to give Apolline a greeting wave on her way to the Wild Patch booth, feeling a little bad for abandoning her own club in favour of Naveen's, but... twins came first. She didn't hesitate to start helping as soon as she arrived, rearranging the photos to make them a little more visible, smiling when she spotted one of her own. "Be careful, the flowers are starting to hide them." She instructed gently, giving Naveen a reassuring smile. "You've got this."

Leena had a few clubs on the list that she wanted to sign up for, so he'd come to the fair in the hopes of putting her name down on at least a couple. While she wanted to join some for the benefit of spending more time with her sister, there were a few she wanted to do for her own enjoyment, too. "Hello," Leena smiled at one of the older boys, admiring the bowl of sweets beside a sign up sheet. "Do you tend to the gardens?" After looking out at the lawn, Leena could only assume it took a large mower to get that one so neat. Unless of course there were a handful of students willing to keep it at bay.

@Naveen Khatri

Naveen had asked his sister to help set up the booth at the club fair but once it was done he figured she'd get the hint at leave. It was just a club fair, he'd be talking to eleven year olds not wandering into the forest. He sighed and fought the urge to roll his eyes as Dhivya fussed with the photos. "Well it's not like anyone really cares about them, I just needed something to fill up space." he said, trying and failing to hide his annoyance. But before he could fully brush off her reassurance a first year approached. "Hello." he greeted. "Not the whole garden. The club has a special designated garden space that we tend to and use for all sorts of things. Like roses and pumpkins for the school dances." he explained. "But I'm hoping to cultivate more fruits and vegetables we can all enjoy." he didn't want to bore her so he kept himself from rambling on and gestured to the sign up sheet. "Why don't you sign up and you can check it out at our first meeting." @Leena Ilves

Daviana had heard that there were a lot of clubs to join at Hogwarts, and she was excited to attend the club fair to check them out. As she made her way in, she looked around at the tables, taking her time to think about each option. The paper didn't seem like something she'd be super interested in - too much writing that she already had to deal with for her homework. But the Student Defense Association stood out to her, and she made her way over to the table. "What do you all do?" she asked the boy. @Osiris Vale

Leo had come to the Club Fair with his sister, but the two had parted ways fairly quickly. Leo had gone over to check the clubs he wanted to join and Leena to her own. Stopping at the first one he eyed up the stand. "So may I join your club?" He asked the older Gryffindor holding up the stand for the Brotherhood. Felix had told Leo that he should join it.
@William Potter-Cade

After the Brotherhood Leo had moved on towards the stand her sister's boyfriend was keeping. Eyeing the blonde up he leaned into the counter. "So, is there any use for someone with a camera in your club?" The first year asked, leaning into it. He wouldn't write but he could lend some bird photos, or his skills at photography just for the funsies. @Eoghan Blyth

Salem wasn't sure what the school had to offer club wise so she'd been rather thrilled to hear about this club fair event they were having. Making her way to the Great Hall the first year glanced around at the people already there. She had her cassette player with her and earbuds in as she walked through the sea of students, looking at each stand carefully from distance. After the first lap, Salem had decided on which clubs she'd like to be part of. Walking to the first stand she recognized the older boy as one of her house Prefects. Owen maybe? She wasn't sure about his name. "Could I maybe join your club?" She asked sheepishly from the older boy, clicking pause on her music and taking the earbuds out, just so she didn't seem like she didn't care.

William hadn’t expected to be given the nod to be president of the brotherhood; he had assumed his cousin Lumos would continue in that role until graduation, but for whatever reason, he had decided to take a step back, and someone (maybe even Lumos himself) had suggested that he take over. He arrived at the blank table that had been set aside for him and got to work setting it up so it looked like a welcoming table for the lads of HNZ. A large banner hung above the table that read, Welcome to the Brotherhood.

When the first person arrived to sign up, William smiled and pointed him in the direction of the sign-up sheet on the table. “Just dot your name down and you’re in,”

@Leo Ilves

Apolline was busy, of course she was. She had so much to be getting on with between her classes, her new head girl status and running accio. She didn't feel all that confident about her ability to manage all of them. But she had to. She came to the club fair and took her stand, putting out the examples of the yearbooks, and making sure that she was ready with submission forms in case anyone wanted to join.

AJ hadn't joined any clubs last year as he had hoped to join the Quidditch team. Then Hogwarts in general had kind of overwhelmed him. But he had heard good things about the brotherhood, and decided he wanted to join it this year. He headed up to the table, smiling at the older boy running it. While AJ didn't know him, he recognized him from his house and as a player on the Quidditch team. "Can I sign up too?" He asked after the first year was done.

@William Potter-Cade

"Of course," William presented the slightly older boy with the sign up sheet.

Henry wasn't usually one for clubs, but he guessed that since he was in an unfamiliar world, he sorta had to change that. Maybe joining a club would be the easiest way to make friends. He didn't have many or any at all at this stage. He felt a bit lonely at the moment in the magical world, and he had hoped that would change eventually. Henry made his way to the great hall where the club fair had been held. He looked around, frowning a little as there weren't many that caught his eye. Henry shrugged a little and made his way to what looked like the boy club. He watched as a boy who was not much older than him signed up for the club. "Can I sign up too?"

@William Potter-Cade

Julio couldn't say he was all too interested in joining a club, but his father had persuaded him that it might be a good idea to join one. However, most of the options didn't really sound all that appealing to him. But he knew his father would be disappointed if he didn't at least sign up for one, so with a huff, he wandered over to the table which seemed the most interesting. "I have a question, do you deal with more... dangerous plants? Or just the safe ones?" He had a feeling he knew the answer already, but it was worth asking.
@Naveen Khatri

There seemed to be a lot of interest in the brotherhood as there always was and it kept William busy. Another first year looking boy turned up to the table and asked if he could sign up and William smiled at him. "Of course," He pushed the sign up sheet towards him.

@Henry Collins

Oliver had thought that he had signed up to some clubs last year, but realised he hadn't. This year, he knew he had to sign up, and there were a few that he had in mind. As he walked around the great hall to find the ones he had been keen on, he noticed that the brotherhood had been a bit busy to sign up for at the moment, so he decided to make his way to the art club first. "Hey, I'd like to sign up for the arts club" Oliver said politely with a grin as he told the older girl.

@Kairi Kennedy

Naveen blinked and another student appeared at the table. "Oh uh, well I guess it depends on what you consider dangerous, are you allergic to anything?" he asked, with a weak laugh. He smirked at his joke but shook his head a moment later. "Uh, no. We don't really work with any dangerous plants. Those are mostly kept in the upper level greenhouse." he explained. "But if boring plants are ok with you, go ahead and sign your name." @Julio Santana

Henry grinned as the older boy gave them the go-ahead. He then signed his name on the sign-up sheet and said a quick goodbye before looking around. There weren't many clubs around that had interested him. But he looked around nevertheless. He realised there weren't really many that were outdoor like activites, but he guessed that the wild patch one was an outdoor one, and he did in fact like the outdoors. Henry shrugged before making his way to the wild patch stand. "Hey, I'd like to sign up, please"

@Naveen Khatri

"I thought so," Julio huffed, a little disappointed all the same even though he knew that was going to be the answer. "But I guess boring is good enough." Plants were still plants and he still enjoyed looking after them even if there wasn't the danger they could bite your fingers off or worse. And so, he reached for the pen and scribbled his name down on the sign up sheet.
@Naveen Khatri

Drifting towards the next set of clubs that she had on her mind, Salem stopped at the Heta Omega table first. "Hi, may I join your club, please?" She asked the older girl who she was certain had been presented as her house prefect. @Violet Owens-Rosemary

Last but not least was the art club and Salem stopped in front of it. Contemplating for a moment she leaned onto the stand before looking at the older girl. "Do you have a piano in your clubs spaces?" She asked hesitantly, hoping she could keep practicing somewhere. @Kairi Kennedy

Naveen just shrugged when the boy seemed disappointed. He loved plants but he preferred the ones you could eat not the ones that would try and eat him. "That's the spirit." he said with mock cheerfulness just before another boy walked up. "Perfect, just sign your name right there." he said and pointed to the list. @Julio Santana @Henry Collins

Eoghan was fidgeting as he waited to see if any students would want to join the Hogwarts Monthly, but was pleasantly surprised when the first young face was a familiar one. "Hi Leo," he smiled at his girlfriends little brother, glad to see him again. "There's definitely space for a photographer on the paper," he told him, "We have all sorts of articles available, and if you don't want to write, we need people to take pictures to draw readers in too." It would be nice if the Gryffindor joined them. @Leo Ilves

It wasn't long before another girl seemed to hover nearby too, and Eoghan tried his best to push a few of the older articles in her direction, just in case she wanted to take a look. "Of course. You can sign up here if you'd like to join us," Eoghan did his best to smile at her but it partially looked as though he was in pain. @Salem Dagon

Henry nods and signs his name on the sign-up sheet. He then says goodbye to the older boy before quickly leaving the stand. He looks around once more to see if there are any other clubs around before shrugging and heading out of the great hall when nothing else seemed interesting enough to him. @Naveen Khatri

Salem glanced at the older articles the boy was pushing her way and bit the inside of her cheek as she thought it over. She could try it out, no harm in that. "Okay," the first year said quietly before taking the quill and writing her name down elegantly. Giving a soft smile to the older boy who seemed to be in pain Salem pushed the sign up sheet back. "Thank you, enjoy the rest of your day." She said softly before continuing on her way. @Eoghan Blyth
