Y48 Dueling Match #32

[Professor Killian Borisyuk]

Killian might not have been able to duel when he was a kid - due to his giant genes, this was the next best thing. He did wonder how dueling was in Hogwarts New Zealand versus the dueling that was over in Durmstrang. Only time would tell. He signed up again this year to help proctor the dueling matches. At least if a spell went sideways and hit him, he will likely not feel it. "Choose opposite ends of the stage. When you are ready, bow to your opponent, and begin. Whoever wins will advance." Killian took a step back and folded his arms across his chest to witness the chaos.​

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!
As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Elio stepped up onto the duelling platform rolling his shoulders. He didn't get Anisha, she'd lost her duel, which did kind of seem a little poetic. But Savannah was head of the Dueling club, she was a good person to match his skills with. He'd lost to Anisha last year, but he could potentially beat Savannah this year, he'd been practicing after all. "I hope you're warmed up, Savannah," he said, remembering what she'd said from the day they'd met. He still held her advice to heart. And it had helped him win against Leah. "Expelliarmus!"

Savannah had been disappointed that she wouldn't get to duel against Anisha, but she'd take Elio. She glanced at him and nodded, bowing as she was supposed to. She blocked his spell, and then non-verbally sent back a stupefy.

Things were definitely more interesting when you were dueling in the upper years, there were so many spells you could pick from. He blocked her spell, harder when they're non-verbal, and then followed her lead with a non-verbal expelliarmus.

Mikael watched the duel carefully from the side. Elio was handling himself well, and if he didn’t, well, Mikael was never opposed to accompany him to practice some more. He’s sure his boyfriend had a preference though, so he pretty much thought Elio would win this round too. Hopefully.​

Elio could see Mikael in the crowd and it somehow made him more nervous about beating Savannah. He did have a point to prove not that Savannah would understand that - nor should she - but it would have been nice for her to lose to him. He didn't want her to lose for him and he knew enough about Savannah to knew she wouldn't do that anyway. He missed her stinging hex, grunting at the pain. Non-verbal was harder to dodge, because he wasn't always sure when it was coming, he had to pay attention. He tried to shake it off. He didn't bother trying to cast he next spell non-verbally. "Langlock."
