Lena was excited to see this second round of matches. She knew they'd likely be more intense as students were getting closer and closer to victory. As each student took the platform, she stood in the center, wand at the ready. "Alright, you know the drill - nice, clean fight. Don't use spells outside of your year. Best of luck!" she exclaimed before stepping out of the way.

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Celia was on top of the world. After getting disqualified last year, she had trained nonstop so she could beat Louis and prove that she should have won the match. And she had done it. Not only had she knocked out the dueling champion himself, but she had snagged the win in front of Professor Alicastell. As far as Celia was concerned, the tournament was already pretty much over. It was only a matter of time before she also claimed Louis' former title.

The only person standing in her way was Atlas. While Celia was confident she could beat Caleb and Julia, Atlas was an unknown variable. Despite being roommates for the past two and a half years, she knew very little about the girl, who hadn't entered the tournament last year. Still, Celia was hopeful. For once, everything seemed to be going her way. She had even lucked out with her proctor, managing to avoid both Alicastell and Castillo. At Professor Williams' signal, Celia bowed before quickly shooting off her first spell. "Incendio!"

Duelling wasn't something that had interested Atlas before but she was getting into the habit of trying new things and entering the schools annual tournament was high on that list. She stood in front of Celia whom she knew only as her roommate and despite their proximity for two and a half years, knew little about her. She raised her wand but wasn't quick enough to block the spell from the older girl and the flames cast by her spell singed the hems of her robes and caught fire, she quickly wrestled the garment off her and onto the floor where she was able to stamp on it. Breathing a sigh of relief she raised her wand again and cast a stunning spell back at her.

Celia could barely hide her delight when the spell hit. She watched as Atlas pulled off the burning robes, tempted to shoot another spell at the girl. It was annoying just how rigid the tournament's rules were. In the real world, no one was going to wait for their opponent to recover before launching another attack. But Celia had no intention of getting disqualified again, so she waited patiently as Atlas dealt with the flames. A stunning spell shot towards Celia, and she quickly summoned a shield before sending back another jet of flames, hoping to finally finish her opponent off. It wasn't like Atlas could repeat her little trick if her clothes caught fire again.
