Lena was surprised she had been asked to proctor some of the duels this year but always loved a good competition. As she watched the students prepare, she stood in between them on the stage. "Alright, lovelies, this is round one of dueling. Keep it nice and clean, and the victor of this match will move on to round two! Make sure to bow when you're ready, and good luck!" Lena stepped off the platform and prepared to watch the duel begin.

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun! As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Flynn was excited and also a little nervous for his first match. Now he had the title of champion to uphold and was quite determined to keep the crown. Smiling across the platform at Tilly, he seemed to recall their last duel had quite a bit of slug vomiting, something he would rather like to avoid this time around. Bowing shortly, he only waited a second into the duel before firing off his first spell, "Expelliarmus!"

Always a glutton for punishment, and perhaps overly optimistic, Tilly signed up for the Duelling Tournament again. Funny that she ended up with Flynn for her first match. He'd beaten her last year in the first round and gone on to become the best duellist in their class, unseating her as the champion.


"Do you miss your slugs, North?" Tilly hollered from the other end of the platform. She threw up a Shield Charm to protect herself and returned with a strong Stupefy. It never hurt to start with the basics.

"Absolutely not," he snapped back quickly before blocking her first spell, retaliating with his own Confundo. If she was confused then she probably couldn't duel well enough to stop him from disarming her.

"Hmm, I say you're in denial," Tilly countered, grinning as she sidestepped Flynn's spell. It wouldn't do to have the brain scramblies. Her grin dissolving, she shot back with the Conjunctivitis Curse.

"And what about you?" He was quick to snap back before throwing up another shield to protect himself, "Do you miss your slugs?" Dropping his shield he threw back a nice Stupefy.

Tilly blocked Flynn’s Stunning Spell with another Protego. She wasn’t going to let him have it that easily. “Of course I do!” she joked, “I’m not heartless, after all.” She shot back with Densaugeo, more for her own amusement than anything.

"Is that so?" He hummed, an idea springing to mind as he set up another Protego to protect himself. It was a given that Tilly should probably be expecting his next spell now, but he sent a Slug Vomiting Curse at her all the same. It was still pretty amusing to watch someone hurling up slugs. Also made it rather hard to duel.

Tilly really should have been able to avoid Flynn's curse. Yet, she was enjoying herself far too much to block it in time. She heaved as the all-too familiar feeling of slugs traveling up her throat hit her.

"My friends!" Tilly croaked, her lips covered in goo as she stepped away from the slugs below. She didn't want to crush them, after all. The Hufflepuff returned with a not-so decisive Jelly Brain Jinx.

Flynn was somewhat surprised when she didn't even bother to try and block his spell. "Seriously?" He called out, "You should retire from the tournament just for that." But at least now he had the easy advantage, once again blocking her next spell before waiting for the exact moment she was throwing up brfore countering with an Expelliarmus so she probably couldn't block it

Tilly surprisingly managed a solid Shield Charm before hurling up another slug. She liked to pretend she was used to the sensation after last year's duel, except vomiting up a live creature was just as horrific. "Good thing I don't live by your rules," she replied, "AND I still have my friends, unlike you." Of course she gestured to the invertebrates at her feet. She cast another Conjunctivitis Curse as pain twisted her gut.

It was somewhat annoying when, despite the slugs forcing their way from her mouth, she still managed to block his next spell. "I don't want your friends, they're rubbish," he snapped back rather quickly, becoming more and more irritated by this whole duel. Not that he expected it to be easy, but he still wanted it over and done with.

He was starting to get impatient, already raising his wand to shoot another spell, but he had sort of forgotten that Tilly hadn't retaliated from his last one yet. And there went the advantage had had as her spell hit and his eyes quickly started getting all itchy. He groaned, rubbing one eye with the ball of his hand as his vision started to get all watery, making it rather hard to see properly. "Silencio!" He snapped quickly, aiming towards where he thought he saw some sort of movement across the dueling platform.

Unfortunately, the slugs had picked up their pace, and Tilly was only able to choke out one word. "Rude!" She glared at Flynn, but her expression soon twisted as she realized her spell had finally hit. It was satisfying to watch Flynn struggle. Puking again and coating her feet with goo, she managed to spin out of the way of his Silencing Spell, but the movement only made her nausea worse. Not so confidently, Tilly sent a Stupefy his way. She just wanted this duel to be over.

Now he was well aware he couldn't duel properly like this, pointing his own wand at himself and casting a quick Finite to try and clear his vision up. Which also meant he didn't have the time to send up a shield charm, having to quickly step out of the way of Tilly's next spell she had thrown his way. But with the itchy eyes stopping and his vision starting to clear up again, he could now see the girl clearly enough to send a much more confident Petrificus Totalus her way.

Wow, I'm not supposed to be dueling a fourteen year old boy, Lydia thought to herself as she walked out of the Duelling Chamber, wondering if someone had done a terrible job at Obliviating her.

Tilly was tempted to throw one of the slugs at Flynn's head, but she decided it would be more fun just to knock him out entirely. Besides, it wouldn't be fair to the slug. She blocked his spell and returned with a solid Stupefy.
