@Rhys Garner vs. @Louis Alcott

Lena was exhausted from all the duels she had assisted with, but thankfully, this was her last one for the year. The second years in front of her had definitely made their way through the past few rounds and clearly deserved their spot in the top two. She smiled at both of them. "All right, folks. You know the drill. Best of luck!"

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

It was needless to say that Rhys was more than surprised to be standing there in the finals. He certainly hadn't expected to make it, surprised at his own apparent skill with a wand. But now he was this far he would quite like to win, focusing his eyes on the boy standing the other side of the platform. Bowing forward when they were asked, Rhys was first to raise his wand as he straightened, firing a quick Expelliarmus at his opponent.

Louis knew hew as close to finishing as first for his year in this tournament. He just had to beat Rhys. Louis grinned at him and bowed. He then blocked the other boy's spell and cast one of his own. "Stupefy!"

Rhys was expecting the counter so he was quick to throw up a sheild, only thinking about what spell he wanted to use next for a moment before he fired back with a jelly-legs jinx.

Louis wanted to end this duel quickly, he wanted to rub his win in Caleb's face. He blocked Rhys' spell and then cast one himself, "expelliarmus!"

Quickly raising his wand to block the next spell with another shield charm, once again Rhys thought about his next spell for just a moment before deciding on a quick Rictusempra.

Louis wished he could use the cool spells he had seen older students use. It would be awesome to make Rhys hang into the air by his ankle or make him unable to speak. But all Louis could do after blocking his last spell was try to send an equally funny one back. He decided, then cast "Tarantallegra!"

Once again blocking the incoming spell, not really wanting his legs to start embarrassingly dancing around the place, he did have to think about what he wanted to do next. The limited number of spells a second year could use really wasn't great in situations like this. It would be so much better if they had more spells they knew and could use properly in a duel. But in the end of he decided for a knee-reversing hex, hoping to make the boy fall over so he was easier to hit.

Louis was disappointed that his spell didn't hit, it would have been funny to see Rhys dance off the stage to his defeat. But he was running out of fun spells to cast. He blocked Rhys' next spell, then cast the first thing that came to his mind. "Expelliarmus!"

Duelling was actually becoming a bit boring, just blocking and then attacking and then blocking again. Where was the excitement he was supposed to be feeling? Once again raising his wand to block Louis' next attack, Rhys fired back with a rather half-hearted Stupefy.

Louis wasn't able to block Rhys' spell in time, so he had to jump out of the way. He frowned, then quickly cast the same spell back.

Well, dodging was different than blocking so he must have done something right. Probably. Once again using his wand to put up a shield charm to block the next attack, Rhys frowned as he thought about his next spell before simply deciding with another Expelliarmus. He didn't suppose it mattered much anymore.
