Lena was excited to see what came of the second rounds. Some of these kids were quite ruthless, and she forgot how competitive they could be, even at a young age. Professor Williams walked onto the platform and looked at the students across from her. "This is round two. Remember to follow the rules, and don't beat each other up to bad. Good luck!" Lena stepped off the platform, waiting for the opponents to start throwing spells.

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

After how the first round had ended against Michael, Sydney was more than ready to have a proper duel now. And more than ready to really show the other students in her year how it was done. Sydney didn't know Hattie very well, but she was a Ravenclaw and Ravenclaw girls weren't exactly Sydney's favourites right now. It'd be good to get a little frustration out, even if by proxy. Bowing her head, Sydney didn't give Hattie much time before throwing across her first spell, a non-verbal reducto.

Hattie was surprised and also relieved that she had survived the first round. So many of her opponents were more experienced than her, and so it was definitely an achievement. She bowed to the Slytherin, taken aback as she sent a spell almost straight away to her. Hattie quickly blocked it, knowing she had to be quicker next time if she wanted to be first. She decided to go easy again to begin with and sent the jelly legs jinx.

Hattie wasn't Emily, Sydney knew that, but she still couldn't ignore the spike of rage she felt seeing the Ravenclaw robes in front of her. Maybe if Emily wasn't such a coward and would duel her, Sydney could hurry up and get over her already. At the very least though, it felt good to square up against Hattie instead, and Sydney barely blinked as Hattie's jinx hit her, her mind deadset instead on returning fire with her own jinx. Her legs weren't stable anymore however and Sydney knew aiming would be useless as she struggled to stay upright. Dropping to her knees, Sydney launched an Expluso charm in Hattie's direction, convinced even if she missed she could still manage some damage in the blast radius.

Hattie beamed as her spell hit her opponent. She was somehow quite good at this. As the next girl's spell came her way, Hattie quickly blocked it, a little taken aback that the Slytherin would use such a dangerous spell against her. She looked hesitantly towards the spectator, before then back at Sydney. After a moment she then sent another spell her way. "Incarcerous."

Not being able to stand was a pain, but Sydney had enough time to block Hattie's next spell when the girl hesitated. Sydney wasn't going to give her the same time to relax though, immediately launching an obscuro charm towards Hattie with a snarl at Hattie's pleased expression.

Hattie truthfully didn't expect the girl to block her spell, and when she did she couldn't help but be a little taken aback. The girl was then quick to send Hattie another spell her way, and Hattie suddenly became blinded. She tried to keep herself grounded though, casting another spell back at Sydney in hopes that it was actually in her direction. "Diffindo!"

Sydney was pleased to see her spell land, Hattie would be as good as a sitting duck without being able to see, especially with how much Sydney had been practicing non-verbal spells. She didn't bother blocking Hattie's spell, letting it skim her shoulder and ignoring the sting as it sliced throw her robes and into her arm as she focused on the counter-curse for her legs before moving as silently as possible to cast a non-verbal petrificus totalis.

Hattie beamed as her spell hit Sydney. It didn't do too much damage though as she was easily able to send a spell back at her. Hattie quickly blocked it before sending the disarming charm her way.

Hatties spells were easy to block while she was still blinded and Sydney made a point despite her desire to see her opponent lose to try and stay quiet to make it even harder for Hattie to aim. Since Hattie already couldn't see, Sydney decided to complete the effect by sending back a sleep bewitchment spell.

Hattie was feeling a little bad about no longer being able to see, but used her ears to hear the girl's next move. She wasn't sure what spell she sent, but Hattie was able to easily block it before sending another one back at her. "Incarcerous!"

Sydney didn't bother blocking Hattie's next spell, simply stepping aside. It doubled as a chance to throw her next spell from a different angle, one she was sure should be harder for Hattie to anticipate as she launched a non-verbal confundus charm, eager to incapacitate Hattie.

Hattie tried her best to keep focused. She couldn't see any of the spells coming at her, but was again using her ears as much as she could. She almost was hit by the incoming spell, but then quickly blocked it before sending another spell that was a bit easier this time. "Pertificus Totalus!"

Hattie's spells were still easy to block, she could tell the girl was just guessing where she was without her eyesight, though it was annoying Sydney hadn't been able to hit her yet. She waited for a moment, hoping to psych Hattie out enough to cast her shield too early before casting a non-verbal Confringo spell. Block this, she thought viciously.

Hattie could not see Sydney, but she hoped that she was getting frustrated. The Ravenclaw had not been so focused in a long time. She could feel herself beginning to sweat and become tired, however her ears were still turned on. It was surprising how well her other senses did when she lost one of them. The Ravenclaw hesitated as she didn't hear another spell coming her way at first, but when she did, she quickly blocked it before sending another spell in the direction where the other one came from. "Diffindo!"
