Y36 Graduation Ceremony: Guests

Noah had been very busy at the Auror's office that he hadn't had much time for his family, or any socialization for that matter. Noah took after his father in many ways, and being a workaholic was one of them. Noah had completely immersed himself in the auror training. Still, he knew how important it was to his parents and Jake that he attend the graduation ceremony. Noah loved his younger brother despite the hard time he might have given him as a kid. As the ceremony ended, Noah cheered for the new graduates. He had finished school at Durmstrang instead of Hogwarts, but he had some good memories here. Noah stood up and ran a hand through his hair, looking to see if he could spot Jacob anywhere.

Madlyn listened along as the speeches were made, some memories shared. Both the head girl and boy earned a loud clapping from the enormous woman. Willow felt more fitting for the role head girl, but, as a professor she wasn't going to let her bias view to get in the way from cheering on Analei and Zennon. They both worked hard to get where they were standing as far as the part-giantess could tell. Madlyn erupted to some more cheering and clapping louder than before for her niece. She hugged Willow after Dederick, and handed her a messily wrapped gift. "Congrats, Willow. You've done it. Here's a gift from me and your uncle. Chante wished she could of been here, the rest of the family too. They'll catch up with you next week, hopefully."

Joshua sat to the back of the great hall. Not too close to the grand stage and the other attendees. He sat somewhere Yvette or Noelle, or both could get a glimpse of the former Ravenclaw prefect. He was there for them after all. The reporter held a bundle of wild flowers secured with a pink ribbon while one knee bounce up and down due to factor of many things. He couldn't pinpoint which emotion that was getting to him. All of it was just happening and he somehow manage with just a bouncing knee. Fortunately for him, all of it went unnoticed. Which, did him good, for he was able to clap for the twins as they received their diplomas. Joshua went as far as to smile at his friends, a blush painted his cheeks when he made eye contact with Yvette.

Alexis was running a bit late. Xavier was a bit busy managing artist and she was helping him while preparing for her special application. Nobody knew about it, not even her fiance. She wanted it a surprise and with Noelle's invite, she wondered if she could keep this a secret any longer. With the two gift bags secured, she slipped into the hall and quickly spotted Joshua despite the many people in attendance. She would know that back of the head anywhere. Sneaking up to him, she playfully pinched his cheek before taking the seat next to him. "Am I late?", she asked. She knew he would tease her about this, she was never late, mostly. The ceremony went on and she noticed his bouncing knee. She steadied it by placing her hand on top. "Relax. It's not like we've been through this just last year.", she whispered cheekily.

Cyndi had taken a seat with her ex husband rather than her fellow professors for this graduation ceremony. She was here as a mother today, for both Jacob and Jemma. It was bitter to be watching Jemma cross the stage and know that Kiera wouldn't see it for herself, but she was still very proud that she was graduating. At times, she'd wondered if she would follow through with it. The woman had come prepared with numerous tissues though, and as she listened to the speeches, she couldn't help but be a bit sentimental, particularly at the head boy's speeches. She couldn't help but wonder if certain chapters in her life were over or if they still had room to add to the story. It was comforting to be seated between Cameron and their son, and she knew Jacob would be happy to see them both. She clapped for each graduate, her cheers a little harder for her Gryffindors and for her two. Feeling the squeeze on her hand, Cyndi gave Cameron a grateful smile as they stood to search for the pair of graduates. She looked for the biggest crowd, expecting to find Jacob in the thick of it.

Joshua jumped from the pinch. He turn to the culprit as he rubbed his face. "You're not too late," he teased his best friend. Alexis is that friend that will support one through hard times. Merlin he missed her! Like they hadn't been apart for several months now, Alexis' comforting present was welcome. "I know...I'm j-just...," he went silent to look for Yvette again. What was he expecting to happen between them? Today, tomorrow or whenever. What outcome did he desired to take place following the ceremony? Internally, he's a nervous wreck not knowing. He'll just have to wait and let it play out. It's not like he had any other choice, maybe. "It's good to see you, Alexis," Joshua smiles over his best friend, he quickly put a pause to his internal dilemma. "I missed you, and everyone else. Mexico is great, but it doesn't have you guys."

Rita Smile had not expected to feel this sad. Or was it disappointment? Either way, Rita sat next to her father glaring at the presents in her lap. She should have been nicer to Kengi before this day came, and Jacob was leaving too! What was she going to do now? Rita's chest was heavy with regret and fear because she did not know how she was going to do all by herself. Kennedy patted Rita on the back as a sign for her to sit up straight. The girl took a deep breath and lifted her head to watch as Kengi walked across the stage. The sight forced the tears in her eyes to fall, and she could hear her father sigh. He told her not to cry. He told her not to cry. As soon as the ceremony was over, she pushed through the crowd to jump into Kengi's arms with snot and tears getting all over his clothed shoulder.
