Y36 Duelling Match #7

[Katherine Alicastell]

It was the first round of the year's duelling tournament, and Katherine lead the first batch of competitors to the raised platform in the centre of the chamber. Gesturing for the two to take their positions opposite each other, the headmistress stepped away, and took her own place at a podium to spectate from. "Competitors, welcome. In a moment, you will begin your first round of duelling. The victor will continue on to additional rounds, and further their chances of winning the title of Champion. Wands out, and prepare yourselves." Katherine spoke with a voice amplified by magic, and allowed the two time to ready their stances. "Bow and commence."​

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours to post, or face disqualification. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!
As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Padme had hoped to do better in this year of duelling than in the last. She wanted to do well, she'd been practicing. Padme knew Aisa vaguely because of her brother, and because they were in the same year. She bowed to the other girl and then when she was at her side she cast the antler jinx.

Aisa always looked forward to the duelling tournament, but couldn't help a small sigh as she spotted her opponent. Every time, she had to duel Padme first. Though so far, she had thankfully won all of her duels against the Hufflepuff. She blocked her jinx, then sent one back. "Furnunculus"

Padme had never won against Aisa but she didn't mind losing too much, she would like to get further but she also just liked the fight. She dodged out of the way of the spell and then cast back, "Rictusempra,"

While Sully had had fun duelling in the past, it got a bit boring losing all the time. He didn't think he was bad at it or anything, but he didn't have the focus to be all serious about it and win like the kids in the SDA. Someone who was all serious and focused though was Aisa, and Sully was sure she'd probably do great this year. "Woo, go Aisa!" Sully called from the crowd as she blocked Padme's first spell.

Aisa allowed herself a smile as she watched Padme duck. It meant she wasn't as prepared to block her spells. She heard Sully encouraging her, which made her smile widen slightly. She then blocked the Hufflepuff's spell, before casting the next one. "Petrificus Totalus"

Padme was a little thrown when she heard a boy call out from the stands. But she concentrated on blocking the other girl's spell, not wanting to dodge twice and she was quick to cast the slug vomiting spell back at her.

Sully could tell Aisa was focusing, she had that same look she got when she was trying to read while he was talking to her, but he still couldn't help but cheer every time she managed to block one of Padme's spells.

Aisa felt like she was getting into the rhythm of the duel a bit more, and a small smile appeared on her face as she blocked Padme's next spell. Admittedly, it helped knowing that Sully was cheering for her. Not that she would ever tell him that. "Stupefy." She cast next, aiming at the Hufflepuff.

Padme didn't want to lose to the same girl again, not after she'd been training so hard, but Padme was sure that this girl was just 100 times better at it than her. Padme was only able to get her shield up in time to block the spell. She took a small breath and cast, "Diffindo,"
