Professor Styx leads the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. He reveals the rules as well as the point system. He walks off the stage and orders the duel to begin, as he keeps a watchful eye.

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours to post, or face disqualification. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!
As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

linden made his way to the dueling chamber he had signed up for the dueling tournament for the same reason he had signed up for the sda in the first place, Willow was running it. He has been taught how to duel last year at the sda meeting and his sister had given him some tips he took his place on the stage opposite lumino goodLuck he said and bowed he wasn’t expecting to win the competition to be honest he wasn’t expecting to win the duel but he would try to at least make willow proud. expeliarmus he said glad they he had been able to make the first move.

Lumio had watched duelling last year, and boy had he been keen to try it, so of course he'd jumped at the opportunity to do so this time around. He bowed to his opponent and replied, "Good luck too!" as the boy wished him luck. He blocked the Expelliarmus almost too late, but wasted no time in firing back with a "Rictusempra,"

Linden smiled as Lumio wished him luck. he just hoped he wasn't going to lose too badly. he wasn't surprised when Lumio blocked is a spell. "Protago" he said glad when he got the spell right. and it blocked the incoming spell. he thought for a second before saying "Stupefy". as he frantically tried to remember any other spells.

Lumio blocked the spell as it rushed towards him, and he then threw back a "Petrificus Totalus" the gryffindor knew that would be a good spell to use in a duel

linden was so busy trying to think of a spell to use that he forgot to cast the shield in time. He ducked as a red jet flew towards him before casting expeliarmus back.

Lumio was barely able to block the spell that rushed back to him, despite thinking that this would be pretty easy, it was a little more tricky. He took a moment to just decide which spell and sent back a trip jinx.

"Prota-" linen said before he was hit square in the chest by a spell. he staggered from the impact and felt himself falling over. and landing hard. but he sat himselvf up and glanced at the headmistress. but she didnt look like she was calling the match "Everte Statum" he said hoping to catch Lumino ofguard before he stood up.

Lumio felt pretty happy with himself that he had managed to cause the boy to trip, he wanted to check the other boy was alright, but he didn't have to, since the boy shot back, Lumio blocked the spell and then was quick to follow it with, "Stupefy,"

linden was sure not to miss blocking the next spell his way. with a confident "Protago" when it was his turm he waved his wand "Tarantallegra" he said.

Linden managed to get a shield up, as Lumino sent the laughing spell at him. "expeliarmus" he said hoping to disarm the gryffindor. he knew some older students and professors could do magic without a wand but he doubted that a second year would be able to do that.

Lumio dodged out the way of the spell as it raced towards him. He was quick on his feet and threw back the slug vomiting curse

Linden watched lumino duck out of the way just in time to miss his spell. Linden raised his wand but was too slow to cast a shield. The spell hit him hard in the chest. Enough to wind him. But when he opened his mouth he didn’t cast for ain instead slugs came falling out as he vomited. He looked towards Professor Styx wondering if he would call it. Before he saw willow on the stands He wasn’t going to let his sister down stupify he said. fasting the shortest spell he could think of The spell worked but it was weak he didn’t think it would make it all the way across the stage. a splattering of slugs accompanied it and hit the stage and Lin started coughing spraying more everywhere

Lumio watced the spell hit the other boy and he felt himself frown. Oh god that was gross. But it just meant that Lumio was too distracted watching the slugs to notice the spell rushing toward him, and before he could raise a shield it hit him dead on.
