@Leda Layton vs @Simon Vanity

Simon was looking forward to duelling, he always did. But this would be the last formal duelling he would do and he was thankful that it was against Leda. He didn't know the girl that well, but he had come to really respect her in their respective roles. "Good luck," he said honestly as he bowed to her and took his position. He was quick, throwing the first spell as soon as he could, "Incarcerous,"

Leda had been part of the SDA for years, although she'd never actually won all the way through to the end of the matches to become a champion. Well, maybe this was her year. "You too," she smiled, bowing to Simon who she still didn't really know too well, but she was glad she had someone like him, someone almost her completely opposite, with her on their duties. Today though Leda felt as though she had the entire backing of the female school to compete for, and show the Head Boy who was best. She paused, letting Simon make the first move, defence in hand and quickly batted it away, casting the tongue tying jinx almost as quickly as protego in an effort to catch him off guard.

Simon got into the mood of the duel, he'd be happy to lose to Leda, though a third and final victory of a tournament would be quite a nice thing. He blocked her spell with one of the advanced protego spells and followed it up in rapid succession with "Confringo,"

It was fun to be battling against Simon really, and more relaxed than other years had been. Maybe it was because they were already at the top and had very little places left to go from here. She blocked his incoming spell with a grin, "You're gonna have to be faster than that! Expellimarmus" she said, wand out in front of her.

Simon found himself almost laughing at her taunt before he just focused on blocking her spell from hitting him. He just barely blocked it with one of the advanced protego's but he didn't let himself think about it and threw back a wordless, Expulso, perhaps a fairly dangerous spell, but he was confident she'd easily block it.

Leda hadn’t really spoken to Simon too much outside their duties as heads but he’d always seemed nice enough, and grinned back at him. He managed to block his spell, pleased not to have been hit with that one, and almost immediately cast Incendio towards the Ravenclaw. If they were going to start sending more dangerous spells to contend with, Leda was more than ready for it.

Simon didn't particularly want to blow Leda up or injury her too badly, so he was pleased she'd blocked his spell. He dodged out of the way of the spell she sent up, noting that where it did hit, it caught fire. He grinned as he looked back at her before sending, a non-verbal Diffindo.

Leda narrowed her eyes at the Head Boy although she was smiling slightly. He managed to cast a spell though that caught her off guard, managing to block it but only barely. "Oh, I see how it is," They weren't going to use their words now, they would just have to guess what they were about to be hit with next, alright then. She pointed her wand at Simon with a smirk, knowing he wouldn't know when she was casting a non-verbal babbling curse until he saw it emerge from her wand, but this was going to make things interesting.

Simon had just thought it would be good to use the non verbal magic, they. were seventh years and the head people, the top of their game. He kept his wand on her and was quick to throw up a shield to her spell, though they'd never know what that was and he sent back a non verbal obscuro.

Simon managed to block her spell and she grinned at him, jumping left and right in the hopes that she'd be able to dodge the spell too if her reactions weren't fast enough to see the spell coming her way. Luckily she saw the glow and cast protego fast enough for his counter spell to be deflected. She cast a silent petrificus totalus, hoping to catch the boy off guard again.

Simon wasn't sure he preferred the silence in duels or when they were loudly saying spells at each other. There was an element where he knew he was concentrating more, but he couldn't help but think it was a little off putting. He moved out of the way of Leda's spell and sent back a fast, non verbal Instant Scalping hex.

It was certainly harder to duel this way, but that was just to make a win that much better. It was the movement that gave Simon away and Leda blocked his spell. She cast a silent accio of his wand in the hopes that because he couldn't hear it, he wouldn't be prepared to keep a tight hold of it.

Simon kept a tight grip on his wand as he felt it attempt to tug it out of his hand. Had she cast a spell to get it out of his hand, accio or something? That was not a normal sort of spell. He kept his grip on the wand and just focused on firing back a quick stunning spell.

Leda smirked when Simon seemed to feel the pressure of her spell, although was disappointed that he didn't let go of his wand. She had a shield up before the Head Boy had even let a spell get near her, so she was already prepared in advance. Then Leda cast the disarming charm in the hopes of ridding his wand once and for all.

Simon felt a little distracted, he'd never had anyone. just try to pull the wand out of his hand, it seemed a little odd...not a duelling spell but he always perhaps played too by the rules and actually it was a perfectly fine, but in his distraction, his wand was knocked from his hand by her spell. He stared at it for a moment before laughing lightly. He would've in previous years been annoyed to lose but he couldn't imagine losing to anyone better. "Well, congratulations Leda," he said across to her, giving a little bow.
