Y34 Duelling Match #10

[Robert Kain]

Professor Kain was looking forward to seeing how the students got on with their duelling. As one of the Charms professors he took pride in seeing the spells in use, and watching some of his own students practise with one another. He welcomed the next two students to their positions, taking his own at the front of the room “Once you have bowed, you may begin,” he said, giving them the go ahead to begin their duel, and keeping an eye on the event from afar.

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours to post, or face disqualification. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!
As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

After the way Derek made Emilia feel, Analei was ready to kick his butt in the dueling competition. She glared at him as she bowed, quickly sending up a Protego as he sent a spell her way. "Petrificus Totalus!" She retaliated.

[Emilia Manning]

Emilia was here to support her friend, as she knew Analei took duelling very seriously. Of course, Analei took just about everything very seriously, and Emilia didn't really know how she did it. She was on top of all her homework, she was on the Quidditch team, and she did this too. Emilia was here to cheer her friend on, but winced when she saw who her opponent was. A part of her wanted to flee now, but she remained and continued to cheer on Analei. A small, petty, part of her really hoping that she would defeat Derek.

Derek was quick to throw up a shield when Analei threw a spell back. He was letting himself relax into the duel, let the emotion of the event and the fight take over a little. He was quick to throw back, "Furnunculus,"

Analei took pride that Derek had to duck out of the way, but he shot back so quickly, Analei wasn't prepared for it. Her sleeve lit up, and she quickly fanned it around, dancing on the spot, throwing the first spell she could think of ("Expelliarmus!") before patting her arm, putting out the flames.

Derek hadn't wanted to set her on fire, but that was what the spell did. He watched as her sleeve caught fire and she eventually managed to put it out. He blocked the spell she sent a spell back to him. "Stupefy," he sent back quickly.

Analei was furious that the boy had managed to set her on fire, but she knew at least this time she could react in a controlled matter. She had control of her magic, she wasn't going to explode. With a more focused anger, she just managed to deflect Derek's spell, before sending her own back. "Petrificus Totalus!"
