This was it. Odette's final year at Hogwarts and her final year as captain of the team. She had loved her time leading the team, but knew that it would soon be coming to an end. She hoped that she would be able to get a good team together so they could win the cup in her final year. That would truly be wonderful. Odette was in a much better place mentally than she had been at the past two tryouts, and she hoped that meant she could keep a clear head and pick the best people. A few good players had graduated last year, and Odette knew their presence would be sorely missed. Hopefully, good replacements would step up.

Clad in her Slytherin robes, Odette waited for her team to arrive. She was going to be watching her current members too, as she was going to be picking her replacement as captain at the end of the year. Those who worked hard and helped at the tryouts would definitely stand out in a positive way. She smiled and greeted her teammates, then looked to the hopeful students ready to try out. "Good morning, my name is Odette and I'm the captain of the Slytherin team, as well as one of the beaters. Once you start your tryout, please say your name and the position you want to try out for. We need alternates as well, so don't be discouraged if the position you want is already taken." She said, giving them another smile. "The current players will be helping you all with your tryouts. They'll be in the air as well. Feel free to ask any of the chasers to try scoring if you're trying for keeper." They did really need a new keeper now that Hayden had graduated. She waited to see if there were any questions, then started the tryouts. "Let's begin!"

OOCOut of Character:
Players from the previous year are guaranteed their spot without needing to try out again - as long as attendance is posted before try-outs are over. Alternates, however, will need to try out again.

First years are required to PM me for approval before attempting to try out.

Derek arrived at the quidditch pitch. He grinned happily at the captain and gave her a rather energetic wave. He had a broom in hand and was ready to get started on this try-out. He listened to the captain as the girl gave her little speech. He nodded along as she spoke. He was very pleased he didn't need to try out again and would be able to practice. Derek smiled when they were finally about to get started. He got on to the broom and shot up into the air. The boy was very ready to just get started. It was going to be such a good try out and practice. Derek had definitely found a passion in this sport that he had thought he'd hate.

Sapphire sauntered down to the pitch. No matter what else was happening, she was not going to give up Quidditch. She held her head high as she took her place with the others. "Sapphire Micheals, trying out for beater." She stated when it came to her turn. She kicked off into the air with the other students. She was focused this year. Her aim had really improved, and she had better control of herself than she had in the previous year. She was agitated by many things, so this year she decided not to worry about hurting her other teammates. Still, she only hit the bludgers towards the other beaters. This was try-outs, and her previous team (mostly). She didn't actually want to hurt anyone. She tried to push herself during her time in the air. She worked to be faster, to hit harder. Now that she had a decent aim, she could focus on improving her other skills as well. Hopefully, Odette saw her improvement as well as her tenacity.

Mordred Cavanaugh was a second year this year, and he was ready to be on the team again. Last year he was an alternate, but this time he was ready to take on the role of being the main Keeper, if Odette saw that he was worthy of the position. Mordred did not see any reason for her not to be for him being Keeper. He was confident that it was his this year. He wanted to help his team win and show all the other houses where they belonged. After Odette finished talking, he went up to her to tell her what he was trying out for. "Mordred Cavanaugh. I am trying out for Keeper!" he said before ran off, hopping onto his broom and pushing off into the sky.

Mordred felt confident in his skills this year. His father had not been pleased when his son had told him that he was an alternate. Mordred had to hide all the pen and paper in the house in order to prevent his father from writing the school personally. Patrick did not know how scary Professor Styx was, and the boy wanted to spare his father of any embarrassment. Mordred flipped in front of the hoops on the far left side. There was a preparedness on his face that everyone could see. He had practiced some of the basics, but he also practiced some flair. Quidditch was not only a sport, but it was a performance. By the time try-outs had started, all the chasers were on him, which was scary. However, the boy was ready to win. He had gotten faster mostly, so he was able to go from each hoop with ease. It was impossible for him to prevent all the quaffles from going through the hoops, but he was doing his best, which he thought was impressive. When he went back down to the ground, he was dripping in sweat. This position was his. He just knew it.

Blake still thought it was completely unfair that he had been stuck as an alternate in his first year. He was a better seeker than anyone else in this school, he knew it, and he was ready to prove himself to the captain. He only half-listened to her speech, daydreaming about the day in the future when he'd be the one in charge of this team. There was no question about it, in Blake's mind. When the time came he stepped forward, speaking up confidently. "Blake Irons, trying out for Seeker." He said with a charming grin, then kicked off from the ground hard. Soaring into the sky, Blake kept his eyes open, looking all around for the snitch. He flew a quick lap around the pitch, spotting a glimmer of gold above him when he was three quarters of the way around. Eyes widening, Blake pulled his broom up quickly, shooting like a bullet after the small ball. He held his arm out, focusing all of his energy as he pursued the snitch, and laughed in triumph when after a moment he felt his fingers curl firmly around the cool metal. Holding the snitch high to show his success, Blake made sure the captain had seen how well he had done before releasing the snitch for another attempt. His second try took him much longer to find the snitch, and he had a couple of close calls, weaving recklessly close to the goalposts in pursuit, but finally he once again closed his hand firmly around the snitch. Blake kept trying for the rest of the tryout, exhausted but grinning with satisfaction once he finally touched down again. He thought he had done a better job in this year's tryout than last year's, and hoped he would be writing home to dad about finally being a full member of the team soon, to make him proud.

Jasper had wanted to try out last year, but had just assumed first years couldn't when he had heard so. So it had been annoying when Blake and Mordred had made the team, even if they had only been alternates. It wasn't fair, and Jasper wanted to be part of the team too. He glared at Blake, as he now really didn't like the other boy anymore. He gave Mordred a small smile, then focused on the captain as she spoke. He hoped she would stop talking soon so Jasper could show what he was made of. He waited impatiently for his turn, tapping his foot on the grass. When it was finally his turn, he grinned as he introduced himself. "I'm Jasper Night, and I'll be your new chaser." He said confidently before he kicked off into the sky. He took the quaffle and flew over to the goals. Mordred was trying out for keeper but Jasper wasn't going to take it easy on him. He tried his best to score as often as he could, aiming for different hoops. He'd often practiced playing with his dad, but knew his dad sometimes took it easy on him a bit. Here that obviously wasn't likely to happen. He did manage to score, and Jasper grinned and whooped. He scored twice more, though two of his attempts were blocked as well. He just hoped the captain hadn't been paying attention to his failed attempts. He flew back to the ground and dismounted his broom. He really hoped he was on the team now.

Sara couldn’t wait to begin her sixth year with a great start, she was happy that at least Quidditch was still part of her busier schedule, she enjoyed the sport way too much to let it go. She arrived to the pitch for the tryouts, not wanting to lose her spot on the team from not showing up. She listened to Odette as she explained what Sara was already getting used to hearing; and before long the new kids were up in the air. Sara was surprised by the confidence of one of them, but shrugged it off and mounted her broom, kicked off the ground and did a few laps before flying around the pitch and offering help and advice to those who wanted it.

Luna hadn't wanted to try out until she was confident that she was good enough. There was a lot of pressure in her family to be good at Quidditch, her uncle had been a good player during his school days, his cousins James, Jess and Jackson all played, James was somewhat of a legend having captained Gryffindor to back to back championships, Jess was no slough and Jackson had just been named co-captain for Ravenclaw. Luna had a lot to live up to but she finally felt ready to give a good account of herself and hopefully earn a spot on the team. Luna made her way down to the Quidditch pitch with a pristine, never before flown broomstick in hand, a little nervous to be trying out on a broom she hadn't had chance to get to grips with but hopefully she'd be okay. Once she was on the pitch she approached the captain. "Luna Urquhart-Cade, trying out for chaser," She said confidently before moving off to join the chasers group.

Once it was her turn Luna climbed onto her broom and kicked off into the air and caught the quaffle when it was thrown at her and prepared to start taking her shots at goal. She missed her first one which didn't put her in good standing. Luna looked over to see if the captain was watching and smiled awkwardly as she got the quaffle back for her next attempt. Her second shot sailed through the middle hoop after Luna sent the keeper flying towards the left, feeling much more confident Luna went onto score two more shots, her final shot however was caught by the keeper, it wasn't an easy save but it was a save nonetheless and it left Luna bitterly disappointed. Hopefully the goals she had scored would be enough to convince Odette to put her on the team.

Leda couldn't believe she'd already been on the team for two whole years already, and was about to make it her third. She loved her position as a Seeker, and it gave her another reason to mingle as part of a real group. The competition with Gryffindor was of course always most fierce for the Slytherin. She overheard one of the younger students trying out for her role, and keeping an eye on him she did think he wasn't all that terrible. Taking to the skies herself however, she quickly got back into practise, catching the snitch a few times before try outs were over. If only it were that easy during the actual games.

Liam was ready for the new Quidditch season again and was really want to show that he was worthy in this team. He had to be true to himself that he wasn't really that good the previous games, but he tried and enjoyed it. And he just wanted a chance. He was now a part of the team for some while and Odette was still their captain. Liam was fine with all the girls in his team and was not gonna change his behavior he was just being nice and well his nickname wasn't for nothing casanova. Liam listened to the speech of Odette and than looked around to the people that stood close to him. There were some spots available, so he was wondering who would fill them up. He stepped on his broom with his beaters bat and looked around where he could do something.
