It was time for the final round, with only two teams of competitors left to duel it out for title of Champion for their year. Plenty of the other years already had their results, one of which had been victorious by default through a stroke of luck. Katherine led Madison and Layton to their places, gesturing at either end of the platform before taking her own position overlooking them all. "Duelists, wands at the ready. This is the final round, to decide which of you will be crowned as champion. Make it count. Now, bow and commence." The Headmistress called, signaling for them to begin.
The duel begins now. You have 24 hours to post, or face disqualification. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!
As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

It as the final match and one that Leda had every intention to win. She’d come too far to lose now, and she quickly bowed when instructed. Taking her wand out, she didn’t waste any time to see whether Charlie would strike first, instead jumping in herself with a simple “Stupefy.”

Charlie was relieved to have made it to the final round of duels. The extra effort she had been putting into her schoolwork was finally paying off, and it felt like a sign that she was on the right path at last. Charlie wasn't going to come this far and lose. She bowed slightly to her opponent, and when the duel began she was quick to shield, not wanting to take any chances. "Confundo!" She fired back, acting quickly.

If Charlie thought she was going to win she had another thing coming. It was easy to block incoming spell, and it fired back an old favourite her own “Incendio,” she called out, hoping her robes would set alight.

Charlie blocked her opponent's spell quickly, teeth gritted as she focused intently on the duel. She shifted her position slightly as she fired back at the Slytherin. "Petrificus Totalus!"

Leda smirked when Charlie tried to petrify her, as though that was going to work. The fifth year blocked the girls spell easily, before giving her a grin and throwing out her own leg locking jinx. Perhaps that would be harder for the Gryffindor.

Charlie was braced and ready when the Slytherin retaliated, pulling up a quick shield. She could actually feel the difference all her studying was making as the next spell came to her mind easily. "Expelliarmus!"

The Gryffindor seemed to have quick reflexes, but so did Leda. She blocked the spell and shot out her own, hoping that she might have thought being disarmed would have given her a few moments to breath. Not wanting to break the tension the girls had right now, Leda wasted no time in shooting back another, “Densaugeo,” she said clearly. She’d had this one done on herself once and knew how fun it was.

Charlie was ready with a shield charm to block her opponent's spell, hoping she could get this duel over and done with soon. Moving slightly as she cast, Charlie tried to catch the Slytherin off guard as she retaliated with a jelly-brain jinx.

Leda watched as the Gryffindor managed to avoid her spell, and just when the red head was about to relax she realised she had another one to block. Lifting her wand just in time to shield it, Leda grinned at her own reflexes. She glanced the professor, hoping the other girl would too and she’d be able to hit her, as she cast the babbling cure on her in an attempt to make it harder.

Charlie threw up a shield quickly, keeping her eyes on her opponent. They weren't the same as duels, but she had been in enough fistfights as a kid to know when someone was trying to distract her. She retaliated quickly, firing a spell back at the Slytherin. "Stupefy!"

It felt like this duel was going on for longer than any of her previous, but Leda remained focused and managed to block the Gryffindors spell. “Incendio” she tried again, hoping it would have more luck this time round.

Charlie knew that being able to beat criminals in a duel was going to hopefully be part of her future, and she was determined to be prepared when she got to that point. So she put her all into the duel, blocking her opponent's spell and quickly retaliating again, entirely focused on finishing this as quickly as she could. "Confundo!"
