Professor Styx leads the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. He reveals the rules as well as the point system. He walks off the stage and orders the duel to begin, as he keeps a watchful eye.

All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.
The duel begins now. If someone doesn't post after 24 hours, they are disqualified.
As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Tyler had been disgruntled to find out he couldn't duel in the first round, but now he was glad to show his skills. He was glad not to have to go against Blake, though he would still try to beat him even if he was his best friend. But beating this girl would be even easier, he had no reason to want her to win. He bowed, then immediately hit a spell at her. "Stupefy."

Nell had no idea what she was doing here. She had realised pretty quickly in the first round that she had no idea what she was doing here, but the fact that she had made it to the second round was unthinkable. Her hand still wouldn't stop shaking with nerves, and watching older students duel had only made things worse. While she was curious about all the spells they had been casting, it was clear to Nell that people could really get hurt in this thing. That thought was frightening and it haunted the back of her mind, distracting Nell from the duel's beginning. She barely managed to jump out of the way of her opponent's first spell, heart racing as she cast back at him. "Expelliarmus!"

Tyler blocked the girl's spell quite easily, smiling at her before sending another spell her way the same way he had before. He stepped forward as he cast it. "Stupefy."

Nell knew she had to be prepared to block her opponent's next spell, but the tremor in her hand wouldn't let up, and even as she was casting, she knew this spell wouldn't be effective. "Protego!" Nell tried nonetheless, but the thin wisp that escaped her wand wouldn't be enough to block anything, and she watched in dismay as the spell tore right through her defenses, before she fell to the ground, unconscious.

A grin spread over Tyler's face as the girl managed to botch her shield charm, and the grin didn't leave even when she fell to the ground, stunned. He pocketed his wand. "That was easy."He muttered, though she couldn't hear. Then he looked at his head of house to call the duel.

Sierra wasn't sure about Duelling, and she hadn't watched any the previous year. This year, though, she had lots of friends that were in the Competition, so she thought she'd go see what it's about. The Gryffindor knew she was running a bit late, and had missed a few of the first ones, but she got to this match just in time to see a spell hit a girl. Was that supposed to happen? She turned and looked to see who else was there and she saw Tyler who was smiling and putting his wand away. Putting two and two together, she figured he had won. "YAY! GO TYLER!" Sierra cheered loudly.

Tyler blushed as he heard Sierra's voice, and he turned to look at her. He was glad he hadn't noticed her until now, because her presence made him nervous and he might have lost. The fact that she was cheering for him made him feel warm on the inside, and he gave her a smile. He really liked seeing her here, and was glad Blake wasn't here now to make fun of him. He hesitated, then waved at her.
