A pair of fourth years were next on the list. Jon quickly lead them up and onto the duelling platform when the previous duel was finished. After explaining the rules and assigning them different ends of the stage he stepped away from the platform allowing the duel to start. ​

Clara stepped up onto the platform and gave Syrus a quick bow. She didn't see any point in leaving this for politeness. She wouldn't be polite as she ought and no more. If she lost this, her father would kill her. "Expelliarmus!"

Syrus made his way to the platform, and bowed respectfully to his opponent. The first spell cast was cast and he dodge it. "Stupefy!" Syrus called out after.

Clara raised an eyebrow at the boy as he simply moved out of the way of the spell. She wasn't sure why he hadn't just used a protection charm like a normal wizard, but who was she to tell him so. Protego! She said, quickly thinking of her next spell. "Rictusempra!"

Syrus wasn't really thinking clearly, currently he had a lot on his mind. His next set of moves he won't second guess them. Protego and then a jelly finger curse left his wand, aiming at Clara.

Clara Saw the spell coming before it hit, but she'd not had her wand in the proper position. The moment the spell hit, Clara's wand dropped out of her hand and she looked down at it in shock.

Successful. Syrus witness the wand drop onto the floor. The boy stepped forward, holding his wand to his side. "Are you good? Did it hurt?" Syrus would ask.

Clara watched as Syrus seemed to come to her aid and smirked. As he held his wand by his side, Clara dived for her wand cast the counter spell before looking up at him from her position on the ground. "Expelliarmus!"

Tricked, his wand forced out of his hand. Syrus growls, starring daggers at his opponent. "Nice one." He commented, and went to collect his wand.

Clara snickered into her hand as she saw her spell hit, sending Syrus' wand flying. As she noticed him heading towards it, Clara rolled over, aimed her wand at Syrus' and grinned. "Wingardium Leviosa!"

Syrus ran and get to his wand before it takes effect. Casting a shield over in front of him, seconds later shouting "Stupefy!" aiming firmly in her path. "Quit playing around, will ya?!"

Clara poked her tongue out of the side of her mouth as she cast a protego from her position still on the ground. The small size of her meant she was entirely covered, not being one to cast a very big protego. She knew all sorts of ways to protect herself. "Stupefy!"

Syrus went to cast the shield again, however, his frustration got the best of him. Syrus hit stone cold, flying backwards on the dungeon's floor he went. Out cold.

When Syrus Stilinski was out cold, Jon walked onto the platform to declare Clara Hayes the winner. After that he made sure Syrus was alright and that any injuries the boy might have were taken care of. ​
