[Kennedy Pratt]

Kennedy led the two victors of the previous duels up to the stage. Although they had just won, she still felt it important to go over the rules and points system with them. They were both in her house so she expected a fair fight. Once she stepped off the platform, she nodded to give them the go ahead to start.

Make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.

Clara bowed deeply to the boy she knew from her year. Tristan. She didn't know much about him, having returned from Beauxbatons only this year, but she knew him to be a hard worker, she knew he spent a lot of time in his dorm, so he was either a hard worker or a long sleeper. He seemed to do alright in classes though so she assumed the latter. People watching was her favourite pastime, you could fine out all sorts of things about people if you just watched them for a while. "Petrificus Totalus."

Tristan's next opponent was another girl, though one he had never really talked to. He knew Clara was in Hufflepuff with him but he didn't know much more about her. She had never really caught his interest, and he hoped he could beat her easily in this duel. He bowed to her, then threw up a shield charm after she made the first move. It was a smart spell she had used, one that would definitely make him lose. "Stupefy." He shot back at her, not wanting to waste time on silly spells that wouldn't actually end the duel.

Clara knew what kind of person Tristan was the moment he sent out his first spell. She wasn't sure about much else regarding him, but she knew he was clearly in this for the win. She could respect that. "Protego, Stupefy!"

Tristan was glad the girl didn't waste time on chit-chat or anything silly. He just hoped she wouldn't be too hard to take down. He always wanted to prove himself, especially on something so based in magic. If he could win this, no one would be able to say he was worse than them because he was a muggleborn. Maybe he could go shove it in Rory's face, though he doubted it would change his mind. He put up another shield charm, then tried another spell. "Expelliarmus."

Tristan had never formed much of an opinion of Clara, as he hadn't noticed her much before. Now he wished she was a little less quick with her wand so he could beat her, but he did appreciate the lack of joking around the way he had seen in some other duels. He blocked her spell, shot her a smile, then cast another stunning charm at her. "Stupefy." He wondered if she would do the same, or pick another spell.
