[Professor Misha Haden]

Professor Misha Haden led the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage respectively. He told them both the rules as well as the point system before walking off the stage to just watch from a good distance. He was sure this would be a good clean game, but he was ready to step in if he was needed to.​

All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.
The duel begins now. If someone doesn't post after 24 hours, they are disqualified.

Odette had been excited about this. Dueling seemed like it would be fun, especially if she won. Her opponent today was some Gryffindor boy she didn't know, but the fact that he was a Gryffindor made her happy. She would like to beat someone in that house. She had never dueled before, but was confident enough to feel sure she would at least give him a good fight. She smirked at him before sending a spell his way. "Stupefy!"

Spencer knew of Odette, most people in their year did, so he was a little nervous to be going up against someone with her reputation. Spencer hadn't dueled before but he knew what he was doing, so he was confident, he just didn't think too much about who he was up against. Odette fired the first spell which Spencer managed to block and fired a spell of his own. "Stupefy,"

Odette's opinion of the boy's abilities wasn't all that good, especially since he just copied her spell back at her. She was aware that in second year they didn't know many spells yet, but she still assumed he juststole her idea. She blocked it with a shield charm and then aimed for him. "Rictusempra!" She glared at him as she did so, wanting it to hit him so it would be harder for him to cast spells.
