Y25 Ravenclaw Quidditch Try-Outs

[Serenity Dion]

Serenity arrived early on the Quidditch Pitch, much earlier than she had too. Dressed in a pair of work out leggings, trainers and a baggy Ravenclaw hoodie with her hair in a high messy ponytail, sipping on her fruit juice that she had brought from the castle before making her way down, Serenity sat on the grass looking out on to the Quidditch Pitch. She couldn't believe this was her last year as Quidditch Captain, or in fact school, the time had gone so fast and she still didn't know what she wanted to do when she left school.

After day dreaming for a while she realised that she had better finish setting up. She lined up some of the school brooms for those who didn't have their own and brought out the box that contained the most important part of Quidditch: the Quaffle; bludgers and snitch. Once people started to gather she grabbed her clipboard and quill to take down peoples names and mark off who, from last years team, showed up.

"Morning guys!" she greeted them all with enthusiasm. "So to any new faces, welcome to Quidditch tryouts, my name's Serenity and I'm the Captain and Seeker of this team. Today you will each be given the opportunity to show me what you got for your chance to join the team. Just come up to me, tell me your name and what position you're trying out for and then I'll provide you with what you need." she further explained what she expected from each position type in the tryouts. "Also, welcome to the old team. Thanks for taking your time to come down here today and lend a hand in helping the new guys." Without much ado she began the tryouts, watching each person and taking down notes. When it was over she thanked everyone and packed up, excited for what this year was going to bring.

Out of Character:

For everyone on the team last year, as long as you post in this thread you are guaranteed your position in the team. Everyone else, we can always use lots of players, so one post with your arrival and try out! Plus, some members might not even post, so the line up could change heavily! Previous team, if you want to help the others try out, go on ahead too! Alternates, if you want a spot that is not what you have, then you need to try out again.

First years, you can PM me to approve before posting here. If I say no, you can defend your request. Below is the current team.

[Isaiah Jeffreys]

Isaiah loved quidditch, he thought it great, and then when another semester rolled around and once again he was face with the occasion to play despite the work he would be doing for his OWLs, he was out at the pitch with his broom in hand ready for these try-outs, the Ravenclaw team were a solid team he thought, they worked together, though perhaps not the best team he knew that this semester everything was to play for, he could only imagine that the head boy and slytherin team captain would be hell bent on winning. Isaiah smiled happily at the Ravenclaw captain as she welcomed them all to the try-outs, and he smiled, he was so ready for this, and at the exact moment when they were allowed to be in the air, Isaiah just shot up, he knew that he didn't need to be there but he was more than happy to participate and help the new possible recruits.

[Blaine Matthias]

Blaine Matthias walked to the Quidditch Pitch, with his uniform on and the broom over his shoulder. This was the final year of playing, and he was already recruited by a team after graduation. That was a good thing, since he had a guaranteed future after this. He arrived on the pitch, and nodded toward Serenity. He thought for sure that she would have been head girl, but boy, was he wrong. He leaned on his broom while others tried out, since he was tired and pulled something in his leg on the way here. He did not need to practice for now. He knew his skills. He was good as is.

[Paige Hardy]

In her early years Paige hadn't thought much about playing Quidditch but over the last couple of years the sport had come to really excite her. The decision to try out for the house team came in the spur of the moment when she had been in Obsidian harbour and she was passing the Quidditch shop. The broom now slung across her shoulder had been an impulse buy but it was one she didn't regret. There had been no change in the line up that she knew of, no one had graduated and left a roster spot so Paige would either have to beat someone for their position or simply be an alternate for the year.

Paige made her way down to the pitch and made her way inside, having changed into some practice robes she was ready for action. She smiled at the captain Serenity who she knew from Heta Omega and introduced herself for her try out. "Paige Hardy, trying out for Keeper," She was pretty nervous as she mounted her broom and flew up to the hoops, she clapped her gloved hands together and she waited for the chasers to assemble around her. One by one they took it in turns to try and score passed her. The first shot went right passed her ear almost knocking her off balance but the Quaffle fell short of the hoops, the second was heading for the hoop to her left, she was able to hurl herself in its direction and catch it. The third and fourth shots gratefully found their way into her hands after decent saves. The final shot was a goal for the chaser. Paige made her way down to the ground feeling fairly happy with her performance.

 

[Zach Jordan]

Zach made his way down to the Quidditch pitch with his broom in one hand and his club in the other. This was their year, he could feel it. Hufflepuff had been dominate the previous year, but their captain and they were being led by Scarlett. The seeker didn't exactly scream leadership qualities, when it came to captains no one could hold a torch to Serenity, she was cool and calm under pressure and she knew how to do her job. Zach made his way onto the pitch and walked over to the Captain and other members of last years team. As long as everyone turned up and no one had decided not to return, the team should be remaining the same with the addition of alternates. Even so, he had a good feeling.

 

[Lucas Chase]

The werewolf was a little on the relieved side that he was not given prefect. Lucas Chase did not want the same rewards that his sibling received. He instead wanted to focus on Quidditch, and deal with the fact that his best friend left him in the dust. At least will be easier to hide his secret from her. Lucas arrived to the quidditch pitch, and smiled, forcefully, toward the captain. He held his broom at his side, before watching the others try out. It was cool to see some of the newer blood attempt such a good game. He just hoped that this year would be a good one for Ravenclaw.

[Felix Warrick]

Felix had some how managed to convince himself that trying out for the Quidditch team was a good idea and Lydia's encouragement had only further convinced him to take the plunge. As far as he knew the team was full but he might make it as an alternate which might be better for him rather than throwing himself in the deep end. Felix took his broom and made the walk down to the pitch. He changed into some practice robes and walked out onto thw Quidditch pitch. He saw the Captain up ahead and went over to introduce himself. Felix Warrick trying out for chaser,"

Felix swung his leg over his broom and took to the air quaffle in hand. He flew over to the hoops where a keeper was waiting. Felix took the quaffle out from under his arm and flew closer to the hoop and threw the quaffle to one of the unguarded hoops, the keeper wasn't quick enough to make the save and Felix had his first goal. His made his next two shots as well and at three out of three he was feeling pretty confident. That may have played a part in his first shot dinking off the hoop and falling to the floor. Fail. Felix squared up to take his final shot, he tried to fool the keepr and sent the quaffle towards the left hoop despite flying to the right. Some how it went in. Felix felt pretty confident as he made his way back to the ground.

 

[Gabriel Black]

Gabriel had returned for his final year at Hogwarts. He was looking forward to graduation, but he planned to enjoy the rest of his year here. Quidditch trials were today, and he was interested in seeing the new talent that would be around this year. He nodded to his team mates as he entered the pitch with his broom in hand. He took to the sky to help where he could with the tryout since his place on the team was secure.

 

[Tholomyes Fontaine]

Tholomyes had never intended to try out, he hadn't thought that sports would be the thing for him, but in the end, he had decided he at least wanted to give it a try, his sister hadn't known how to fly, but he'd watched others do it and decided he wanted to try, he knew that his school activities weren't too vast and most of the time he just spent alone or listening to the world around him, and so he had decided that he needed to expand his horizons a little more, the only thing he could think of to be able to do this was via the sports, the only sports available for him to do at hogwarts was quidditch, and so the boy found himself on the quidditch pitch with a school broom in hand, and his brothers words of advice ringing in his ears, to just not fall on his face, that was the way to go about it, just not fall on his face, which might be a little more difficult given that he was going to be on the broom.

The young ravenclaw glanced at the others already on the pitch and to the captain at the front of them, and just smiled at them, knowing that this would pretty difficult, eventually he made his way forward, "Hi, erm..Tholomyes Fontaine, trying out for seeker," he said with a small shy smile, before getting on the broom and getting up into the air, he steadied the broom, which took a good few minutes for him to do and then he was able to look around himself at the pitch itself and begin flying around looking for the snitches which had been released for him to catch. Theo couldn't spot anything, so he just continued to fly around, trying to spot what he needed, but he didn't find anything. However, a little object caught his eye and he flew after it with a nervous half terrified expression, it didn't take too long until it was in his fingers and he felt pretty pleased with himself, during the course of the try-out Tholomyes was only able to catch one more but he landed on the ground in front of the captain and waited to hear how he'd done.

[Fiona Smith]

Fiona couldn't tell whether she was excited or nervous. She did know that she was looking forward to try outs though. She hadn't been able to make the team last year, but this year, she would make sure that she was not just another face in the crowd cheering for Arnost. She wanted to play against him and she was quite looking forward to the games and hoped that she would get the chance. Heading towards the Pitch with her broom in her hand, Fiona hoped that she'd make the team. It had been a lobg time wish of hers to play after all, and twelve years of waiting should be enpugh. Yes. She would do her best this time around.

The young girl watched as the captain introduced herself and gave out instructions on what to do and it made Fiona all giddy inside. Yes, the adrenaline was hard to contain. "Fiona Smith, trying out for beater," she said before she grabbed a bat and mounted her broom. Releasing a breath she didn't realized she had been holding, she kicked from the ground and was up in the air in no time. There had been bludgers in the air, and of course she had to hit them away from everyone this time around. There were no targets after all since they were all from the Ravenclaw house. It was then that she saw a bludger going straight for the hopeful seekers, pulling at her broom handle, she quickly changed direction towards the approaching bludger and swung her bat, hitting the heavy ball with a resounding thwack and away from the seekers. Grinning at the small victory, Fiona began to keep a watchful eye with the bludgers keeping them away from her housemates and hopefully would-be teammates. Well, hitting stuff was something she enjoyed at the moment after all, and hitting bludgers randomly also worked for her. Quidditch was fun even if she wasn't really playing.
