As quidditch Captain, and a seventh year, Tybalt Archer had a lot on his plate, but he was very much looking forward to this year, and this. His quidditch team. He'd almost led them to victory last year with the help of Taylor, but with Taylor gone, it was mostly now on him. He was the one who was leading the team. Ty was looking forward to it, but he was also incredibly nervous about it. It was really the first time he'd been nervous about it in a long while. But, now was not a time to linger on such thoughts really. He smiled at the people currently waiting to try out, as well as the old team members standing a little to the side. "Good Morning Folks, and welcome to the Gryffindor try-outs!" he greeted them warmly. Ty stood at about 6ft, and from his summer in sunny America, he had a dark and natural tan. He was smiling brightly, and was really ready to get started "My name is Tybalt Archer, most people just call me Ty, I'm a Gryffindor beater, and the Captain, so all questions should come to me. I'd like to welcome all of you to the try-outs, and welcome back the old team. I hope you all had a good break. Last year we can within an inch of winning that Quidditch cup, and I'm confident that we really can do it, this time around." Ty added warmly. Tybalt had watched Taylor do this last year, and he felt more than capable of doing it this year. He had the pitch set up so that those on the team could practice, and all the things that people trying out would need too. He felt very prepared for this. "Now, Chasers, grab a quaffle and get practicing, Keepers defend our hoops, Beaters hit those bludgers as hard as you can, and seekers, catch the snitch. Let's get some practice in!" He explained quickly. "Everyone remember to have fun, and be careful!" With that Tybalt smiled and then motioned for everyone to get started.

Skye was making a habit of being picked as an alternate for the house team. With no open spaces on the roster this year it seemed likely that she would be in the same position again. When the morning of the try outs arrived Skye was one of the first people to leave the common room and head down for breakfast. As had become tradition on the morning of the quidditch try outs, Skye ate very little before heading back up to the common room to change and grab her broom. An hour before the try outs were due to begin, Skye headed out onto the grounds in her practice robes and her trusty Sienna storm slung over her shoulder. The morning air was warm and welcoming as she strode across the grounds down towards the Quidditch pitch. There was a small number of trialists waiting at the pitch when she arrived along with the current Captain Tybalt Archer. "Skye Talyor, trying out for chaser," She announced as she slung a leg over her broom and took the air taking a quaffle with her.

A slight wind caused Skye's robe to flap around as she turned her broom towards the hoops and leaned forward to shoot towards the keeper. She held the Quaffle firmly in one hand and when she was close enough she sent the Quaffle hurtling towards the middle hoop, the keeper dived to the left and Skye had her first goal of her try out. Skye would make four more attempts before the try outs concluded, for the first time she didn't miss one. As she made her way to the ground she couldn't help but feel like she was better than she had ever been and had never been more desperate to be a starter. Skye put the Quaffle back with the rest of the supplies and she made her way back up to the castle.

Archie never realized the amount of pent up energy he had from the winter break until he arrived at the quidditch pitch. He was not only excited for the year's upcoming games (and hopeful wins) but conversely just as excited for the fresh meat trying out for a spot on the team. His sudden onset of restlessness fueled by excitement was obvious when he stood next to his teammates and watched the potential players as they flew into the air. Last year Gryffindor was so close to winning all their games, so this year Archie aimed for the skies. Literally and figuratively. He wanted to win as much as everybody else, if not more because he wanted bragging rights for an entire year.

James strolled onto the Quidditch Pitch, his broom tucked under his arm for if he needed to help some of the others try-out today. Gryffindor had been so close to winning last year that he felt that he had let the whole team down. It still rankled that a beater from Slytherin had managed to catch the snitch before he did, so he was desperate to pay their rivals back. Thus, he was greatly intrigued in the ongoing practice that the team was going through. He wanted to win, and help bring the team a victory.

Jean was just as surprised as anyone when he stepped on the pitch and discovered that he didn't have to try out. He had started out as an alternate on the team, but now he was one of the Chasers. He figured that his hard work during practice and what he had done during the game had all paid off. Greeting Tybalt and the others who were already there, Jean put his broom carefully on the ground so he could finish putting on his gear. Even if he didn't have to try out, he wanted the practice and he didn't mind working with some of the others. Picking up his broom, Jean listened as the captain gave instructions. When he was done, Jean took to the air. He didn't have to do all that the captain did with watching people, so he was able to have fun catching up with some of his teammates.

Parker Greystone approached the quidditch pitch with a bounce in his step. He had been dying to get onto the team, and had been overjoyed when he had received his owl stating that he was allowed the try out. He was confident on making the team. He had made his mother pay for a load of flying lessons, and was a more then competent flyer. Reaching the group of Gryffindor's, he grinned at them, and gave a wink to the captain before mounting his broom. "Parker Greystone, chaser," was all he said before kicking off of the ground and racing around the pitch. The wind ruffled his hair, which he had spent quite some time styling this morning, but he enjoyed the sensation more then he cared for his hair. Making his way up towards to hoops, and the keeper that sat waiting. Watching the other chasers take their turns shooting for goals, Parker waiting for the quaffle to be passed out to him. Catching the ball in his hands, he made feint to the left, and diving out to the right, he launched the quaffle with all of his might, and grinned in satisfaction as he watched the quaffle hit its mark, shooting straight through the hoop. Waiting for his next chance, the Gryffindor boy flew around to the right side of the posts, and as he saw the quaffle coming at him, made a quick dive for it. Catching it, just, he made another attempt at the posts but mentally kicked himself as he watched the keeper easily deflect the shot. Catching the quaffle as it bounced back to him, Parker flew back a bit, sizing the keeper and the posts up. He grinned then, and darted forward. Zig zagging his way to the posts, he dived to the left, and after a few rolls, came upright to shoot again. Watching the ball fly through the air, everything seemed to move in slow motion, until finally he reached the hoop and bounced off of the left hand side of it, and fell into the whole. He had just made it. Grinning to himself contently, he flew back down to the waiting group to hear the results. He hoped he had made the team.

Caroline was pleased to be back at school once more. Her summer had been relatively uneventful, just more boring parties with her parents friends. She spent most of her time practicing Quidditch as she thought that was what she wanted to do after graduation. She knew she needed to be really good to be offered a spot on a professional team though. Caroline made her way down to the pitch to watch tryouts. She would not be trying out herself, but it would be nice to see some of her teammates and friends. Caroline waved to Tybalt as she arrived, heading towards him. "Congratulations on Head Boy!" she said enthusiastically. "How was your summer?" she asked as she directed her attention to the new prospects in the sky.

Lowan headed down to the quidditch pitch, he had enjoyed his holiday spending a lt of time with is family an changing out with his brother-cousins. he had also spent a few days visiting his sister in byron bay, though he certainly wan't brave enough to face the cold surf as enthusiastically as her, he had enjoyed his time on his skate board.
back at school he was a little disheartened, it was a lot less freedom at school than at home though as a sort of consolation prize there was quidditch. and today was the try outs. he headed down to the pitch and saw that there were already quite a few people there. "Good morning Tybalt, I am up for seeker" he said before pausing cracking a smile. "yeah right. no way would i make seeker, i am trying for beater" he said winking. he was far off the ideal build for a seeker. they were meant to be small and light, he was rather stocky. he heard Tybalt re-exxplain what they had to do for the try outs before taking to the air. he wasn't sure if he was already on the team or not, he had been an alternative last year but had plaid in two of the three games. even if he was already on the team it would be good practice trying out, give him chance to get his eye in as bludgers were a lot different to AFL balls.
he spent the try out flying around and hitting the black cannon balls towards and away from people. at one stage he hit someone who wasn't looking quite hard. he flew over to them. "ar' you okay mate?" he asked making sure that he han't hurt them too much he would not like someones chance on the team to be stopped because they were trying out injured. once tryouts were over he landed and listened to Tybalts final list before packing up and heading back to the school talking to some of the other students he had been on the team with the previous year.

Belladonna could scarcely believe she was a fourth year already, it felt like just yesterday that she was only just having the sorting hat placed upon her tiny head. "Maybe this year I won't suck so bad." The honey blonde thought to herself with a snort. While she traveled around with her dad during his Quidditch season, she attempted to study the Chasers and how they handled the game. Problem was, they were so much quicker than she was. Perhaps Belladonna needed to work on her speed? Her clumsiness was still pretty bad too. Belladonna wanted to beat Slytherin, mostly so she didn't have to listen to Vladimir conveniently mention how well his team did while she was around. That arrogant bastard was getting on the last of her nerves. Broomstick in hand, Belladonna arrived onto the Quidditch pitch. Hopefully they brought in some new recruits this year, was their captains last year and they were going to need some strong players to replace him with when he did go. "Hey guys." Belladonna greeted softly as she approached her teammates. Hopefully she did well enough last year to remain as a Chaser this year. She had practiced some over the summer, and she figured the only thing she could do was improve from here on out.

Ailsa was nervous, she was very nervous. But it didn't entirely make sense to her. She didn't understand why she was nervous. It was quidditch try-out day yes. But she knew that she would be fine. Her cousin was captain, and he knew how good she was. She was not awful at this sport. She was perhaps not the best, but she was not awful. That and she knew that she had to make the team. There was no way around it, she had to make the team. She couldn't let Archie keep rubbing it in her face that he had made the team and she hadn't even tried out. Which was why she found herself on the pitch at this time of day waiting for it to get started. She had a school broom, her parents would only get her a broom if she managed to get on to the team. It didn't matter if she was an alternate, she'd be able to get a broom for just getting on the team, so that was what she was going to do. She had the broom tightly gripped in her hand, and the beater bat in the other. That she already owned. That was something that she'd been allowed to bring to school with her. She had good luck with this beater bat, that much she knew. Ailsa was looking at her cousin, the captain, and waiting as he started speaking. They'd have a co-captain in that James guy, the seeker. Which she understood, but thought it was harm her chances of getting to captain at a young age. However, she just focused on the task at hand. The quidditch try-out. She needed to do well in this, then she would be able to perhaps get on to the team, and from that she'd be able make her way up. Finally it came to her turn, "Ailsa Evans, Trying out for beater" Ailsa said with the usual confidence.

Ailsa stepped forward and got up on the broom, shooting up into the air. A smile plastered on her face. She was happy, that much was clear. She was always calm and happy when she was in the air. She took a few moments to get her bearings and then allowed herself a moment to just get ready. There was no point rushing into anything, this was important she had to well, she couldn't really mess around. Happily however, when she was ready, Ailsa shot off, watching the practicing, and looking out for any bludgers. A bludger shot over her head before she could do anything about it. She muttered some choice words before focusing more on the game at hand. She smiled to herself and then noticed a bludger heading for an unsuspecting player. She shot off and managed to just get their in time to hit the bludger away from the person. She didn't even stop to acknowledge what had happened, but flew off to do more. By the time the end of the try-out came, Ailsa was worn out and tired, but she felt fantastic. She knew that she'd be unlikely to make the playing team, but she was sure that she was very likely to at least become an alternate. That much was obvious. She flew back down to the ground and stopped a little further away from others. Heading towards the rest of them, she waited to hear how she'd done. Even if she didn't get on the team, she was still happy with how she'd played.

Try outs wrap up tomorrow, so if you want to try out, please post before tomorrow!

Gajeel Cheney was a lazy guy. And an apathetic guy too. He didn't care much for academics as he really had no intention of getting a desk job when he graduated. What he planned for himself was to be a professional quidditch player and he was going to make sure that he gets enough practice while he was still in Hogwarts New Zealand. That was just about the right way to go indeed. And so now, here he was in his second year and yet again planning to try out for the Gryffindor team. He didn't mind being an alternate really though there were times he wanted to play in an actual game, he was fine because he knew that they needed to assure the victory of the team first, even if that meant that he couldn't play. Well, today though, he only had to worry about the try-outs again. But they were quite fun, so it was fine with him.

His broom in one hand, he reached the Quidditch Pitch while dressed in Quidditch gear and quickly approached the rest of the team. He knew he was late. But that was fine, he knew the deal by now anyway. "Gajeel Cheney. Chaser," he quickly told their team captain, Tybalt, before mounting his broom and taking off into the air. This was going to be simple. Or so he hoped. Yep, there's nothing else to be done after all. And so, the Gryffindor snatched a quaffle that was being passed mid-air and started his way towards the hoops. He was feeling a bit competitive today. Besides, this was try-outs. If they couldn't even handle him, how could they handle the other house teams? Gajeel sped through the air passing chaser, beater and seeker alike and even managed to find himself some teammates. With a grin, the boy passed the quaffle, though he did not at all falter with speeding towards the hoops. His teammate needed support after all. It was soon after that his teammate scored a goal and the oldest Cheney could only cheer and play again. By the time try-outs were finished, Gajeel had already scored two goals and he was proud of it.
