Aphrodite yawned. It felt kind of weird for it to be Quidditch season already. But Aphrodite was pumped and ready to go. Last year they completely dominated against the Hufflepuff house. She wanted that to happen again if it was at all possible. So they were going to start earlier, practice harder, and study the rules even more. That was Aphrodite's plan. She was running the team solo this year. Both her and Rakas decided that they felt no one else was fully ready to step up and be her Co-Captain yet. But Aphrodite was going to keep her eyes peeled. Hopefully someone would rise up to the challenge. Aphrodite was even willing to take a look at some first years for the team. But there weren't going to be many. Just those with a lot of potential and talent since usually they only allowed second years. Aphrodite brushed her hair back and sighed. Well it was now or never. As the possible future Gryffindor team members piled around Aphrodite cleared her throat to get their attention. Then smiled softly. "Welcome everyone!" Aphrodite greeted them warmly. After all. Her best bet was to make them want to work with her. Not hate her. Aphrodite waited to make sure everyone was paying attention before she continued on. Aphrodite wanted to finish the tryouts as soon as possible so they could get to practicing. "Okay guys, pleas state your name and position that you are trying out for, then proceed to tryout. Anyone who is trying out to be a Chaser, grab a quaffle and practice passing and such. You can also try to score. Keepers, go to the hoops guard. If you need someone to throw some Quaffles for you to block one of the Chasers or I will help out. Beaters, go grab a bat and practice hitting some bludgers and guarding the team. Lastly, Seekers, there are some golden snitches flying around, so practice chasing after and if you can...catching the snitch. Good luck everyone, and try your best! Remember how well we did last year? Well I want that to happen again this year!" Aphrodite pushed out the box of supplies and signaled for everyone to get to it. She reached over and took hold of her handy dandy little clipboard. That would help her keep notes on who was doing what since she was all alone this year. She wanted to see all that they had. This year was going to be their year!

OOCOut of Character:
Okay guys, same as last year! It just requires one post! Just state your arrival and your try out into one. Make it creative. We want to get the teams posted as soon as possible so post as you as you can! If your student has questions feel free to post them here or PM me, and I will answer to them accordingly.

Also, if there are any first years really dying to play and think they are able to be available for games...PM me. There may be a chance for you to try out as well!

It was time for Khione Hawthorne to shine, to have her dream fulfilled. Gryffindor Quidditch Try-outs are just on the corner and she couldn't help but be excited. Both of her arms shaking and the part-goblin jumping, all her feelings started to build up. There was no way she's not going to join, this was her moment. She even did cartwheels, getting pumped up for the try-outs and when it was time to leave her room. Khione got her gear with her, the newly ones she bought last year. And with her new broom that her father gave him, everything was settled. She marched her way into the pitch, ignoring the stares she was getting. There was no time to mind them, as she arrived. Khione's face lighten up once more, all her excitement starting blow up any minute. If only she could scream her feelings then that would be a bit destructive, the first one she saw was the team's captain. What was her name again? Aphrodite? She wasn't sure of that. Khione knew she needed to please her and show her skills in Quidditch. It also entered her mind that she was the first one to arrive for the try-outs. "Oh well, the early bird get's the worm..well maybe gummy worm for me." The little blonde stretched her bones and muscle, warming up. She predicted that she'll be the smallest player in the team, since she's one of the few part-goblins in the school. Height doesn't matter, her skill does. As she was done with her routine, Khione approached the team captain. "Hellooooo! Khione Khione Khione Hawthorne! Trying out for Seeker!" her voice filled anticipation. She had been waiting for this moment, to actually try-out for the team. Practicing during holidays, getting a few bumps and bruises along the side.

Khione height made her look vulnerable but that's when they're wrong, this will make them win. Once she introduced herself and said her position it was time to test her. Knowing that she would love to be their team's seeker, Khione is up to now prepared for this. Even in the dark she can get this, with her broom with her. It was even taller than her, she positioned herself and adjusting her seat. "Ready, get set... She said to herself preparing to go up into the air. "Go!", with her last word Khione kicked off the ground and went up as high as she can. And when the golden snitch was freed, she rushed through the wind to find it. This wasn't a practice anymore, even though there wasn't any game. She knew that she could catch the snitch faster than the rest, with her light boy and her small figure, it was easy to be fast. Being fast without even trying to be. Left, right and then up. Chasing for the snitch is a surreal feeling and once she would caught it would be the greatest feeling of all. Like having a price at the end of your hard journey, she turned around and was on the snitch tail. There was no chance of it escaping from her, even if it takes a day just to get the snitch. When she got nearer to it, both arms of her stretching out to it. While his legs hugging her broom, being flexible has it's perks. "I'm going to get you!" she mumbled at the wind rushing through her face. Laughing at the same time, her blonde hair on the back of his head and down to his shoulder. Another turn came by and she immediately grabbed her broom, turning herself, only a few inches remaining. There was no time to play now, she soon jumped off her broom, her arms stretched out wide. Even if they aren't that long, she knew by jumping she could catch it. Khione's eyes wide open, snatching the snitch. As she landed, she ended up in dirt. Slowly she opened her small little pale hands and saw the golden snitch inside, "Teehee!" she partied. The blonde actually got the snitch, all her practice went well for her, she smiled a lot, her pearly white teeth showing. Standing up, while closing her fist so that the golden snitch wouldn't escape again. She returned to their team captain and handed her the snitch, she knew that she was watching her. "Like I promised." laughing to herself, as she looked like hobo out of town.

Georgiana Night made her way down to the Quidditch Pitch. This wasn't the first time she's made the trip for try-outs, in fact she had been practicing all summer to get herself back to the fitness she had been before when she had been on the team. In the previous year she made the decision to not try out for the team during her fifth year. She had been given a position as a Prefect as well as going through a depression which took her a long time to get out of. She felt as though she needed a break from the sport as the reason she joined it in the first place was the reason for her depression. But over that year she missed the thrills of playing with her team and flying through the air. After spending the summer with her brother and his love of the sport it convinced her that she wanted to be apart of the team once again. Therefore she made her way into Pitch her new and shiny Quidditch gear on ready for the try outs. Looking around as the Captain who was a year younger then her spoke she remember her first try-outs in second year when she made the team. It had been one of the happiest moments of her life. She kept the position beating out other older students the next two years. If only Damian was still here and Briar; she thought to herself as the first girl introduced herself. "Georgiana Night. Here to try-out for the Keeper position," she said to the younger girl, a smile on her face. Georgiana wasn't the type to judge and she had no problem with the captian being a fifth year, she hadn't even been planning on ever being captian herself. It made her look up to the young Snow, it was a great responsibility to be the Captain of a Quidditch team. Georgiana's brother made her realize this as he went through all his preparations as the New Captain at Salem.

As the physical part of the try-outs began she flew up to cover the hoops. She waited for some chasers to start going for the hoops and watched them flying through the air passing the ball between them. It wasn't hard to get back into her mentality of being Keeper and figuring how who and where the first throw was going to come from. Her brother was a skilled Chaser and the two practiced in the air and the ground with blocking all sorts of throws for her to be prepared for today. She made her move to block the throw and managed to catch the Quaffle as she had been hoping she would. Her broom tipped forward and she held onto the oddly shaped ball in one hand tucking it under her arm. While the other hand and arm adeptly pulled her back up to a stable manner to toss the Quaffle back out to the chasers for another go. Georgiana was never brutal or passed any snide remarks to the chasers or others trying out for Keeper as some might do. Instead her bright smile shined on her face because she was back doing something she truely loved to do and planned on making a career out of. Both her and Kayden planned on auditioning to the Stonewall Stormers once they both graduated school in two years. It was only her hope that the Captain would over look her previous year break from the sport or otherwise ask her why she did break for the year rather then see it as a lack of really wanting to be on the team. Georgiana continued to guard the hoops during the try-outs blocking most of the shots that came at her while the others went by her and into the hoops behind her. She had seen the boy who had taken up the position the previous year and she had to admit that it was a competition to be reckoned with. However she hoped her years of being on the team would give her an advantage in knowing the ups and downs and all arounds of being the Keeper. Georgie never minded the break of sitting and watching the chasers fly around during practice and games. The teen had always managed to keep herself well prepared for when they'd turn around and start flying towards her own hoops rather then the other hoops. As the try-outs went on and on she knew she never wanted to move form her spot in front of the hoops, it wasn't something she wanted to give up again. Hoping her detrimination showed on her face she kept her spirit up.

Peter had been waiting for this day since he had got back to school after the holidays - heck, even at the end of the last school year, Quidditch try-outs. He was so excited to get back to Quidditch after he had gotten a proper taste of it last year. He had spent the majority of his holidays practicing his Quidditch skills and working on his Keeper techniques having his dad put an enchantment on a few old Quaffles to come at him and a bludger like ball that had the same speed as a bludger but wouldn't hurt him if in came into contact with him as his mother wouldn't of been one bit happy if would of gotten hurt.

Just like any other day Peter was as energetic as ever and was ready to get this show on the road. As he was getting ready he saw a few people leaving the common room with brooms in hand and figured they were already heading down to the pitch not wanting to be late he quickly put on his jeans and t-shirt and started to run out of the common room putting on his socks and shoes as he made his way down through the corridors and down to the castle doors. By the time he was at the entrance hall he had finally finished getting fully dressed he took a moment as the smell from the Great Hall made its way under his nose. Figuring he had a minute to spare he went into the Great Hall and put a few slices of bacon in between two pieces of toast and made his way down to the Quidditch Pitch as he munched on his food, he would need some energy before today. Arriving on the pitch he popped the last piece of toast into his mouth and saw the blonde haired Captain. Making his way over to her he spoke to her. "Hi, Aphrodite, how's it feel being sole Captain?" he asked, envious that she had such a cool job. "I'm going to try out for Keeper again" He said, enthusiasm in his voice.

After listening to the instructions Peter looked up to the sky, it was such a good day for try-outs and he knew it was going to be a good day for him too. Picking up his broom he swung his leg over and kicked off the ground with a good speed. Flying towards the hoops he did a few laps around them so he could get a quick feel of the air. It was good to be up here, he had so much more height and freedom than he did in his own backyard at home. Hovering in front of the center hoop Peter watched the chasers and beaters were flying around in front of him, waiting until one of the chasers got the quaffle and made their way over to him. Looking at them head on he didn't break eye contact with them until he saw the quaffle flying towards him. It was a pretty shitty throw as it landed right in his arms with very little effort from him. Throwing it back into the game he watched everyone zig zag in front him, dodging the odd bludger himself as the beaters were nowhere near him. As he tried to dodge another bludger he cursed because for starters the beaters clearly weren't doing their job right if he had to dodge them himself and secondly because as he turned around he saw a quaffle flying into the hoops beside him. Flying around he caught it and threw it back into the game. Angry at himself he knew he only had one more shot before he had to let anyone else trying as keeper to switch over with him he made sure to not let anymore go in, well not at least without him trying to save the goal. The game, or try-out, went on for what seemed like an eternity until he saw someone coming towards him with a quaffle again. Locking eye contact on them he watched their every move he saw that they were trying to trick him by swerving a lot and as soon as they threw the quaffle he saw it going up to one of the taller hoops, quickly pulling up on his broom he reached one arm out and hit it out of the way before it reached the hoop. Grinning widely he went to catch the quaffle and threw it back into the game. Pretty proud of himself he made his way back down to the pitch and waited to see what else was going to happen, he wasn't sure how long they'd have to wait until he found out if he made the team or not, he hoped it wouldn't be long.

This year Damien had decided to try out for the team.He thought he was a pretty good flier and when he had been practicing he found that Beater suited him.He was physically strong and he found it quite fun hitting the bludger away from people and he did get a small satisfaction seeing it hit the opposing team or at least making sure they dodged and let go of the quaffle. He was a small bit nervous but it turned out before his mother left school she had been on the quidditch team.It was she who had helped him practice the beater position as that was the position she had played. It had been fun spending time with his mum as he wanted to catch up on all the years she hadn't been in his life.It had been funny trying to see his dad fly on the broom but since he wasn't magical he had just landed on his butt a lot of time.He had taken it with dignity which was kind of even funnier to watch. He had dressed in his new quidditch gear that his mum had bought him as a present. His dad had bought him a new broom with the help of his mother because he did wouldn't have a clue as to which was the best broom.

Damien walked onto the quidditch pitch, there were quite a few people there already.Damien knew he was also pretty good as chaser but beater was what he was going to try out for this year.He walked over to the blond haired girl who he guessed was the captain. He had come to watch the game last year and he had been delighted that they had one.He hoped they had the same success this year also.Last year they had also won the house cup which had been amazing and he had been very proud to be in the Gryffindor house.Once the few people had said they name and desired position Damien went up next "I'm Damien Blade and I'm trying out for beater"He said smiling.Once ethey were given the instructions Damien went over and got a bat.He then shot up into the sky, ready to hit some bludger butt.He flew around the field keeping an eye out for the heavy and dangerous balls. They weren't very hard to find as they were loud and easy to see.He spotted one heading towards one of the chasers he quickly flew over and hit the bludger up into the sky.He flew around the field once more keeping his eyes peeled,he then spotted another one heading directly for the keepers,he pushed his broom as fast as it would go and arrived in the nick of time belting the bludger to kingdom come. They were called down then as the try outs were finished.Damien was pretty proud of himself and hoped he had done enough

Minoas had fully charged his batteries after his holidays in Egypt. He hadn't really miss school, if it was in his power, he would have been enjoying an additional month of relaxing under the sun. The only thing that got him looking forward to his return at Hogwarts was one of his favourite sports, Quidditch. Knowing Aphrodite and her determination to get Gryffindor victorious once more, the try-outs were going to be on just one day after sorting.
Minoas was finding this move really professional and strategic. More time for the team to get familiar with its strengths and weaknesses. As the Quidditch pitch appeared in the horizon, the fourth year smiled heartily as good memories piled in his head. It was so long since he had last visited the pitch and it wasn't just the break contributing to that. The final match before the end of last year was cancelled, leaving everyone disappointed and especially Minoas with a bitter taste. He was working hard for this and it felt like spreading his wings to be suddenly clipped.

This year he was going to be even more competitive than last time. He had scored his first goal and that sensation was too good to be limited to a life-time experience. Holding his reliable scarlet streak, he entered the pitch to recognize almost immidiately Gryffindor captain's presence. "Hello Aphrodite." he greeted the girl with a smile. "Minoas Stratis, trying once more for chaser." he stated although it was quite obvious that he was going to insist on that post. He had tried beater's as well but nothing like chasing that scarlet ball in an attempt to score.
He listened carefully to what Aphrodite had to say to new and older, ambitious players and mounted his broom to join the skies. The wind caressed his face like the touch of a feather but as he was accelerating the touch became a blow that was flapping his clothes. With high speed, he lowered his course to grab the quaffle off the ground, raising a dust cloud.

Since there weren't many people in the air yet as they were mounting their brooms, he decided to straightaway score. There wasn't long until he reached the goal posts and sent the quaffle, slicing through the middle hoop.
He retrieved the quaffle, this time to play a team game. He passed it to the closer teammate and zoomed towards the center of the pitch. He watched carefully from the distance the passes occuring between other players and he was ready to gain again the possession of the ball. With the corner of his eyes, he spotted a teammate approaching the opposite teams goal-posts. Minoas shot the ball towards his teammate who scored after their synchronized collaboration. A while later and after scoring one more goal, Minoas decided to make Aphrodite's life easier and serve more passes to newer players, to see their true potential.

Faxen made her way down to the Quidditch pitch with a bright grin on her face. She had enjoyed every moment of her holidays away with Dymetris. Yet, after six years Hogwarts really felt like home. It was hard to believe that it was already the beginning of the end of her time in school. The slender brunette entered the Pitch to see that there were several Gryffindors already there. Of course, she recognized Aphrodite, Minoas, and Peter. She had played with them all on the team last year. Faxen smiled at them all as she went over to where the captain, Aphrodite, was standing. "Hey Aphrodite!" she greeted the younger girl. "Looking forward to another great season?" she said, still thrilled they had won the House Cup last year. Faxen really wanted Gryffindor to win again this year especially since it was her last year. The pretty girl hoped to be a part of a winning team once more. "I'm going to be trying out for Chaser again this year, but let me know if you need me to try a different position." she offered. Faxen much preferred chaser as it was her best position, but she would try a different position if Aphrodite needed her too.

Faxen listened Aphrodite give them all the instructions for the way that try outs were going to go.Faxen was pleased, but not surprised, to hear the same dedication and convection to win in the captain's voice. Faxen nodded her head before picking up broom. She hopped on it and took to the skies. It was wonderful to be flying once more. Faxen rose up above the other players. She started off by doing a few high speed laps around the pitch. She wanted to show that she could move quickly and stay in control of her broom. With that done, Faxen dropped back down to where the chasers were beginning to toss the Quaffle back and forth. Aphrodite had seen Faxen play alongside her in a game, so she knew what the seventh year could do.

The brunette girl flew back and forth across the pitch while passing and catching the Quaffle. Chasers had to work as a team, and Faxen wanted to show that she could do that. Last year, she had gotten to play in the game. However, she had not originally been a starter. This year, Faxen really wanted to start in the games. As they neared the goal post, Faxen caught the Quaffle out of the air. She rolled quickly to the right just as she launched the Quaffle through the far left hoop. The brunette girl cheered as the ball soared through the hoop. Pleased with her shot, Faxen dropped down and caught the falling ball before passing it off to a team mate. Tryouts continued in much of the same way. Faxen caught the Quaffle, took shots, and passed the ball to her fellow chasers. After a while, the tryouts ended. Faxen smiled and waved good bye to the others before heading to the showers.

Sergios Romanes was going to return to the Quidditch Pitch today, all dressed in Scarlet robes to represent the noble house of Gryffindor. The previous year, he had caught the snitch faster than the Hufflepuff seeker, and won the team the game. It was an outstanding game itself, and Sergios was excited to be returning. Holding his streak in his hand, he headed out of the Gryffindor House, through the castle, had the misfortune of running into that brat Isabella before taking off once more, and then arriving to the pitch. It was only natural that he was there anyway. Sergios was a great player, his arrogance was only increased while he was on the pitch itself, and he saw that there were others there already, and some really, really tiny girl trying out for seeker too. How in the world could she stay on a broom being that small? She looked more like a first year to him anyway. Sergios was not here to judge, he was simply here to get his role back on the team, and to get his position underway. He approached Aphrodite Snow, a girl that he started to notice look really, really attractive. Sergios found himself staring at her for a moment, before he snapped himself out of it, and saying what needed to be said, "Sergios Romanes, trying out for seeker, again." He was somewhat excited, and one could tell just by listening to his tone. He took a step back, careful to not to run into anyone, before he looked around the Gryffindors to see who all was trying out. There were quite a few here, and he did not know any. In fact, he was getting somewhat frightened that he would not even make the cut. However he needed to believe in himself, and remember what he did last year. That should be enough to convince Aphrodite Snow that he should be seeker.

After receiving the directions, Sergios knew just what he had to do. He threw his leg over the broom, and he leaped into the sky, taking off at an amazing speed. There were so many bodies of Gryffindors up in the air, but it was like an obstacle course, flying through them and navigating around. It was definitely fun for the third year Gryffindor. Sergios eventually stopped, his brown eyes peeling around for a glimmer of the snitch. Finally, his eyes found one. He leaned forward on his broom, and he soared through the air at an incredible speed, curving around the hoops and dodging flying quaffles. He was going after the snitch, and he was not holding back anything. He was simply pretending that he was living in his own universe, and there was a Quidditch game going on. Just like the one against the Hufflepuffs. He reached his hand out, and he soon felt the snitch against his gloved hand. Grasping it, he caught one! He then tossed it straight up, and it took off again. Sergios counted to three in his mind, before taking off after it. He seemed to have picked a favorite this around too. He smirked as he got closer and closer to the snitch. He swung his body around the broom, doing a belly roll to dodge a bludger that managed to get near him. Sergios shook his head and he continued to fly, before he managed to catch the snitch once more. What fun this was turning out to be. Sergios released it, and instead of counting to three, he counted to ten, before he went on a search to go find the little bugger. It couldn't be close, not by now. His brown eyes loomed over everyone, and he found it. He knew that it was it too, because as soon as Sergios looked at it, it took off. Smirking even more, Sergios leaned on his broom, and dove. The snitch was heading toward the ground, and he was not going to stop at just that. He was getting closer, and closer, and closer. His hand reached out, it took him a few seconds to catch it again, narrowly dodging the pole for the hoop on the south in. Well, that could have turned out to be bad. Try outs were then over, and he released the golden ball, before he packed his broom. He waved to the Captain before he walked up toward the castle. Today, he just had a feeling that he was going to have a great one.

Sidney Carver realized that he had received a large growth spurt, and with that, eh was going to go try out for Quidditch for the Gryffindor team. He didn't see why not, but he didn't know what position would be best for him. He figured that he might go for beater or chaser. Sidney didn't really think that any other position would be better for him. So he put on some robes that he could try out in. Sidney took his brand new broom from his trunk, and he thought that he was ready as ever go head out. His hazel eyes looked around to ensure that he had on everything, and indeed he did. Even his gear. Sidney thought that he looked quite well. Sidney let out a sigh, and he started to walk down the dormitories, not living in a world of fantasy anymore. That was last year, and now it seemed like he was a lot more realistic than ever before. Sidney looked down at his sneakers as they walked on stone, and soon enough, they were walking on the grass, crushing whatever bugs that decided to get in the way of his shoes. It was a hard thing anyway. Sidney decided to take his time to get down to the pitch because he had no reason to hurry. He was not really, super wanting to get on the team. Sidney was just one of those that didn't really care if he was on the team or not, he just wanted something to do other than to look at his pokemon cards all day. It was a good thing to collect, cause it could give him a lot of muggle money, but sometimes a boy was just bored. His family was not at all that exciting either, so he was living in a world of boredom.

Approaching the girl that seemed to be the captain, Sidney said, "Sidney Carver. I suppose I am trying out for Beater or Chaser, wherever you all need me most." Sidney waited for the instructions, before he heard them. He figured that he would go on ahead and try out for Chaser first, and take to the skies. He mounted the broom, and he went up to the sky, after taking a quaffle. He soared ahead, making a pass over to another chaser, and then he attempted a score as well. However the keeper was doing well, and Sidney could not think of anything to trick the keeper either. Sidney was not that strategic on how to trick people. Now if it was like, sports or something, then he would be able to do it, but he didn't know with Quidditch. After a while of trying out for Chaser, and making a few scores with more successful passes than anything else. After going to the ground, Sidney picked up a beater's bat, and he started to look around for bludgers. Aha, he found a one that was going after a teammate. Taking a swing at the black ball, it soared away. It was obvious that he was a better beater than a chaser, because he couldn't make up his own plays while he was playing. He continued to protect his teammates with skill, but he wasn't the best beater at all. He just wanted to do something that was more rewarding. Sidney continued to do what he wanted with hitting bludgers left and right, and almost hit one at the stands. Sidney flinched at that, but luckily there was no one there or else would have been horrible. He heard that try outs were over. Sidney landed, and he waved at the captain as he left the pitch. He hoped that he at least made the team as an alternate.

Taylor was so excited to be trying out for Quidditch this year. She couldn't believe it, ever since she had been playing in the Christmas match, she couldn't wait. Though even though she was seeker then, she would be going for Beater now. She smiled extatically when she entered the Quidditch pitch. It was time. Even though she was quite small, she had no qualms with hitting something. She was quite strong for a twelve year old and she was really strong too because of her athleticness. She couldn't wait. The longer she had to wait, the more nervous she seemed to become. It was so nerve wracking. She looked at all the others, including those who were trying out for Beater and bit her lip. They were all boys and they were quite big. It was actually kind of scary. Taylor stepped forward and stated her name confidently in her Massachusetes accent. "Taylor Blare, trying out for Beater" She waited for the other Gryffindors to do their piece. Soon after, everything was set and Taylor now awaitd instructions. As soon as they were given, Taylor mounted her broom and took a lap around the pitch, not that hard. That can't have been the tryout surely. The next task was to protect her teammates from flying bludgers. Taylor lifted the bat with her hand and smirked. Now this, this she could do.

Taylor soared through the air, but was unable to see any of the bludgers bothering any of her teammates. She was happy that they couldn't be hurt, but she was rather disappointed that she couldnt showcase her skills. She began to wonder if this position was even worth it when she suddenly saw a bludger going after one of the Chaser. Taylor's eyes widened and she quickly flew towards it, effectively smashing the bludger out of the way. It wasn't a terribly hard hit, but it did the job, which she hoped was all that was needed. She knew there were other Gryffindor's going for Beater, but she hoped she stood a chance, she was very dedicated and hard working, so for her, being Beater was something she would love. She didn't want to be an alternate, but if she had to be, then she would and would just try out again next year. Taylor continued to bash away at Bludgers as she saw the, and soon it was time to finish. Time had seemingly flown and Taylor was alittle nervous about it. She landed as soon as she could and hung around watching the last of the tryouts before leaving. The results would be posted soon. Until then, Taylor would have her fingers crossed.

Indiana had been terribly excited when she got the Owl from the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain that she was allowed to audition for the team. She wasn't sure if Georgiana had anything to do with it but it didn't matter to the girl. She was getting the chance to play on the team as a first year, something that was vary rare as she hadn't had proper flying lessons like the ones they take in their first year. Indiana grew up with two older siblings who both loved to fly. Her older sister Georgiana had been on the team since she was a second year and had decided to take a year off as she was fighting internally to keep herself going, she was a Keeper. Kayden her older brother was the Quidditch Captain at the Salem Academy and a great chaser. They taught her how to fly and how to do both of their specialities in the game. She wasn't sure as she watched the others introduce themshelves what position she should go for. She knew she was no competition for her own sister for Keeper, and she was better at Chaser. Though she always liked seeker and being able to just fly around and worry about one tiny thing. "I'm Indiana Night! I guess I'll be trying out for Chaser or Seeker," she smiled at the older girl while glancing to her sister wondering what she thought of what she just said. Knowing she was the youngest she was glad she wasn't the shortest. The first to speak was a very short girl being inches below Indiana's own height of five feet.

Watching as the others took off she decided to go with the chasers first. She noticed one had ona Prefect badge and wondered if she was in the same year as her sister. She flew past bludgers being hit by the beaters as she waited for a throw to be spent to her. Once a pass was made her way she dived down to reach the short throw and managed to catch it while staying on her broom. A grin graced her face as she made way towards the hoops which the chasers she was paired with for their mini game. Pulling up short which she knew would throw off the opposing chaser who was trying to get her to drop the quaffle, the young girl passed the ball off to the older player on her right. She watched as the girl managed to get it in the hoop and she raised her arm up pumping her fist in the air. Following the player who got the ball from the Keeper she made her way around the person waiting for a pass. Once she noticed the person shifting the ball in arm she made her move up and caught the ball as it was passed. Interception! She swerved around on her broom and made her way back towards the hoops she was meant to be scoring in. She passed off the quaffle to a teammate as they made their through the pitch. A pass towards her was made as she neared the Hoops. Cathing it she didn't hold on to the quaffle long as she shot at the hoops. Scoring, she couldn't of been happier. They continued this playing back and forth a while before it was time to change it up and she went to release a Snitch to try-out for seeker.

Letting the Snitch go she flew up to the starting position for Seekers. Waiting the typical time for the Snitch to hide itself she set off flying around the pitch in a wie oval. It was so cool to her to be able to watch the sport on the pitch and not in the stands. Getting her focus back on she kept her eyes looking out for the snitch. Spotting the golden color on the opposite side of the pitch she turned herself towards it and made herself as small as she could to get where she needed to be. She had to weave between other players as she was flying against them. Dodging a bludger a spotted the shiny gold Snitch moving away from her. She got herself to be smaller and more against her broom as she took off for it. The darn thing brought her through the other players once again but once she was out she wasn't that far behind the Golden Snitch. Stretching out her arm past the end of her broom she tried to keep her balance. Keeping an eye out she almost missed seeing a stray bludger heading her way. Moving away from it her eyes strained to catch sight of the snitch again. There it was, right in front of her. Reaching out she took a hold of the little ball and the wings closed up in her hand. Sighing she pulled herself up to a sitting position as she flew down to the ground of the Pitch. Holding the ball in her hand she smiled. She wasn't sure which position she liked better, Seeker was fast and fun, being a chaser made her feel more like part of the team though. "I caught it," the young girl said handing over the Snitch to the Captain. "That was really fun!" She said to no one in particular. She did have a lot of fun being with numerous people on the Pitch.

Ever since hearing about Quidditch, it was all Delancey could think about. She raced down to the pitch for tryouts, arriving early because she just couldn't wait any longer. She still had a sausage in her hand and was munching on it while she waited for the others to arrive, unable to sit still and skipping around on the grass. Then she played with her broom like it was a musket, doing a little military dance with it, like she'd seen on an old Disney movie called Cadet Kelly and having a grand old time entertaining herself.

When everyone had arrived and it was finally time to get down to business, Delancey listened as Aphrodite explained the rules of Quidditch to her, nodding her little rainbow head seriously to show that she was following along, which was pretty much a given thanks to her eidetic memory, as long as she paid attention. Give her a game to learn and suddenly she could focus her crazy energy, at least long enough to hear what she needed to know. She was itching to get back up in the air. Flying had been her bread and butter at HNZ. She knew it would be because it's like the ultimate freedom and freedom was her middle name! Well, actually it was Dare, or Darien to be exact, but she didn't like to fuss over such details. "I wanna try out for Seeker!" she said excitedly, bouncing in place, her energy taking her over again. From what Aphrodite had said, she was the right size and everything for it. She was shorter than the average 11-year-old and light, too. She was just a little bit underweight, though she had always been athletically powerful. Her grandma liked to call her 'Dare-Bear, the pint-sized powerball'. When she got the okay she mounted her first and only broom - a beautiful Scarlet Streak - and soared off into the sky, giggling as the air rushed against her face and blew her rainbow-streaked blonde hair out behind her.

She zoomed around the pitch at break-neck speed looking for the Snitch and spotted it in no time at all. Her eyes had always had a gift for spotting shiny objects; it was one of those California girl stereotypes that always fit her pretty well. Delancey streaked after it, following the glittering little golden ball. She twirled like a corkscrew to fly between two other kids, rocking them a little in her jet stream. "Comin' to get ya!" she called with glee to the snitch, never taking her eye from it. She knew she had a reputation for being flighty and goofy, but she loved to play games almost as much as she loved to win! Give her a competition and you saw a completely different side of Delancey: focused, determined, and fierce, though ever playful. Delancey leaned forward on the broom and spun it into a flip over the snitch, snatching it upside down, and thrusting her glittering hand into the air in a fist of triumph and with a huge grin as she righted herself, did a few more loops, then landed giddy and dancing on the grass of the Quidditch Pitch, bouncing like a Mexican jumping bean. She held out the snitch proudly for Aphrodite to see, still grinning from ear to ear, riding a rush of adrenaline unlike anything she'd ever experienced before. "Did I win, did I win?!" she burst ecstatically.

Philippa was ready for tryouts! She absolutely loved the workout it gave. Last year did wonders for her arms. It was kind of like baseball. But on a broom and there were no baseballs. Just nasty bludgers. All summer Philippa had been working out with every intention of buffing up her arms so she could hit harder. Last year she wasn't so bad or anything, she just wanted to make sure she was better this year. That way Gryffindor could have a better chance at winning than they did last year. The winning streak just had to continue. Especially since it was supposedly just Aphrodite running the team this year. Pippa didn't know for sure or not, but she had been hearing rumors from the other Gryffindor's that she was. If so there was a lot on her shoulders already. "Congratulations on getting Prefect this year Aphrodite!" Philippa explained to the elder player them before she was given the go-ahead to proceed with her tryout. This was the moment of truth! Grabbing a bat from the trunk, Philippa mounted her broom and flew into the air with intense speed. Once she was high enough she checked to see where the Bludgers were.

Philippa spotted the traveling bludger and leaned forward to fly toward it. Easily she caught up to the viscous ball and smacked swung her bat at it. It made a loud crack as the bludger flew away quite a distance away. Philippa silently cheered. Sure it was only her first hit, not to mention an easy one. But she hadn't expected it to go that far. Another bludger flew toward her and she was able to smack that one away too, this one going a little bit further than the last. Gripping the bad even more tightly, Philippa flew around, hitting the bludgers away from people trying out for other positions. The bludgers were relentless little devils. Philippa nearly got smacked in the face by a couple of them. Luckily she was able to duck just in time. Philippa hit a couple more bludgers, by the time she had hit at least five in a row, she was ready for one last hit. Philippa spotted a bludger headed her way and readied herself to take one last swing. Gripping the bat with both hands she swung as hard as she could and watched the ball fly back. Philippa found it important that she could use both hands and balance on her broom if needed. When her last shot was taken she landed back on the ground and smiled at the captain. Hopefully Aphrodite thought she was okay enough to at least consider for the team another year.

Try-outs are ending within the next couple of days! So if you're interested in trying out soon you need to have it done and posted soon! ♥

Kyle was brimming with excitement over the Quidditch try-outs.That morning he got up early and went to the Quidditch pitch to practice because he wanted to make sure he was prepared. He went to one of the Quidditch supply cupboards in the changing rooms and grabbed one of the crates that held the quaffles.

He threw a couple of Quaffles into the hoops, testing how far he could actually aim and score. His aim was really good but then again there was no one to practice with and he couldn't be sure how he would perform under pressure. But he hoped for the best.He also let out two snitches and then started hunting for them.He spotted them a couple of times and finally he managed to catch one and then another. It took him about twenty minutes to catch both the snitches and it was a very good timing. But he hoped his performance would be similar in the tryouts.

He was slightly nervous because he knew that first years didn't usually get selected for the team but on the other hand he had had loads of practice back at his home in England and he had always played with kids older than him but he had managed to outshine them anyways.

Both his parents had been on the Quidditch teams of their houses when they had been in Hogwarts Scotland and he had inherited their skills. They were always joking about disinheriting him if he never made it onto the team but Kyle was sure his father would be actually disappointed. It was only his first year so there was not much pressure but also he had to show his house that he would be a long lasting team member so he had decided that it wouldn't hurt to tryout.

When it was lunch time he returned to the castle and took a light lunch but made sure he had a bit of everything that was rich in energy so that he wouldn't be tired. Then he returned back to the Quidditch pitch. The afternoon was warm and sunny but not uncomfortably hot.Spring was approaching and the grasses were green and the trees were blooming with flowers.

Many people had already reached the pitch before him and he could see them standing in a loose crowd some talking and others awkwardly standing on the sidelines. There were a small number of first years but he knew that at most two had the chance of being selected and he hoped that he would perform better than the rest.

He saw the team captain,a blonde haired girl whom he had seen in the common room before.Soon she welcomed them all and asked them to state their names and the position they would be trying out for. When it was he turned he gave his most charming smile and said out loud,"Hi,I am Kyle Cavanaugh,1st year and I am gonna tryout for Chaser and seeker." His British accent was easily heard in his voice because he was excited.

When the captain gave them the go ahead they organized into two teams and Kyle got a chance to be the seeker for one of the teams for the first game.He memorized the faces of his team members and the seeker of the opposite teams. The snitch was released and Kyle's eyes followed it for a few moments before it zoomed off higher.Kyle mounted his broom and when he heard the whistle he kicked hard off the ground and shot upwards into the sky.He kept gaining height until he was about five feet higher than the rest of the players.

He positioned himself around the middle of the pitch but stayed on the left.He didn't concentrate on the possession of the Quaffle. He didn't want to know how good his competitors were.Right now he was a single minded seeker whose only goal was to catch the snitch before the other seeker. He scanned the pitch from side to side and his glasses helped him focus well on far off objects. He circled the pitch staying on the side lines and kept an eye out for the other seeker in case they spotted the snitch first.

A few minutes later he spotted the snitch close to the base of the middle hoop of the opposite team. But he was on the other side of the pitch and the other seeker was far closer to it than he was but hadn't spotted it yet.In fact the seeker was looking in the completely opposite direction. So he decided to lead him astray.

He gave a startled look into the heavens and started speeding upwards like he had just spotted the snitch. It was a common trick and he was sure that the seeker would fall for it.Soon the seeker was on his tail but when he got closer Kyle turned his broom around abruptly and shot off back towards the game.By then the seeker had probably realized that it was a feint and had gone off in the direction of his own team's hoops but by now the snitch was far off.

Again Kyle began scanning the pitch for the snitch. The sun was now shining brightly and making him uncomfortable. He checked his watch and eight minutes had passed. He was now feeling nervous. Then suddenly he saw something shine near the stands across the pitch. It was a tiny golden ball with wings.Ready or not here I come! he thought as leaned forward on his broom and shot off towards it.The snitch seemed to realize that it had been detected and it zoomed off to his right. The other seeker was now close to the snitch and was coming at it from the opposite direction. Both the seekers were flying right at each other. And the snitch was flying in the other seeker's direction.Kyle lay flat out on his broom to get max speed. He had to make sure he caught the snitch. He stretched out his right hand which was now just a feet from the snitch.Just inches. And then his fingers closed around the tiny ball.He punched his hand into the air but then he realized that he was still flying straight at the other seeker so he leaned back and stopped his broom just before he would collide."Sorry bro." he told the guy and then flew towards the Captain who was standing on the ground with a triumphant smile on his face."There,a golden snitch for a Golden Girl" he told her referring to her golden hair.He hoped his weak attempt at being charming wouldn't cost him.

The other players also descended around him. They reshuffled and some of them changed their positions.Kyle would now play Chaser. The other chasers on his team were a guy and a girl both with brown hair and both were older. They kicked off again and the Quaffle was thrown up into the air.Kyle reached to catch it but a girl from the other team got to it first.Kyle chased after her as she flew towards their goal and soon the other chasers of his team were on her tail. Now Kyle was neck to neck with her and he thought of how to get the quaffle from her.She veered off to the left trying to loose him,but he was tight on her chase and then tried she to pass the ball to her fellow chaser. But her pass was badly timed and Kyle flew past her and grabbed the Quaffle out of the air.He turned around and sped off to the opposite end of the Pitch. They passed the Quaffle successfully among them selves a few times until they neared the hoop. Then Kyle was given a pass and he didn't hesitate. He aimed at the left hoop and then sent the Quaffle soaring through it.The keeper was too late to save.Kyle gained appreciative looks from his fellow team mates.Even though they were competing for the same position they set that apart and played as a team like in a real match.

The Keeper of the opposite team retrieved the Quaffle and passed it to a Chaser and then they were off again chasing after the Quaffle. When they caught up with the other team's Chasers Kyle and the other girl chaser on his team surrounded her from left and right and the boy from below. They tried to scare him into loosing the Quaffle but he made a successful pass. But the other Chaser dropped the Quaffle because of a bludger that was coming right at him.The girl chaser from Kyle's team got the Quaffle and they went back to the other side of the pitch passing the ball between themselves. But this time the chasers from the other team tried to intercept their Quaffle.Kyle was the one who had the Quaffle and he was surrounded by two Chasers. So he tried this one trick that he had learnt and abruptly stopped his broom. Then he made a pass to the girl on his team and she scored.

When the snitch was finally caught by the other team's Seeker, the scores were 60 to their team and 160 to the other team who had only scored once.Kyle had scored thrice for his team and he was proud of himself. He knew that he had played really well better than he had imagined earlier. He hoped the Captain had liked his performance and he wasn't sure whether he would prefer being chosen as seeker or chaser but he knew that the probability of being chosen as Chaser was greater than seeker.

They landed back on the ground and Kyle said goodbye to all the students and then left toward Gryffindor tower. He was starving and eager to have dinner.

Sorry about the length...I got a bit carried away 0_o

Mandy made her way down to the Quidditch pitch, her old second hand Firebolt slung over her right shoulder. She didn't yet own a set of Quidditch robes and it was a nice day out so she was dressed in a pair of baggy grey cotton shorts, her Gryffindor t-shirt and a pair of running trainers. She'd decided on the train that she would keep an eye-out for try outs and give it a shot. She knew it would please her father immensely if she were even to make it as a reserve and she wanted to surprise him. She knew he was worried about her well-being, she wanted to show him that she was making an effort at Hogwarts and enjoying herself, even if this wasn't necessarily true. It sickened her to think that she was causing him worry and grief on top of everything else he had to deal with at the moment. She just wished, with all of her heart, that things were different. That it was all one big, nasty dream. This, however, did not seem to be the case and Mandy had a blue pinch bruise on her arm to prove it.

As she walked out onto the pitch, her hopes fell. What seemed like half of Gryffindor house had shown up. Her stomach tightened and she had the sudden urge to turn back, she'd been silly to think she stood a chance. She was there now though and her brother would never forgive her if she didn't at least try, he was so eager to play himself and being a first year, unable to do so.

Mandy gathered with the others around a pretty looking blonde girl who looked to be about a year younger or ages with herself, and guessed she was the captain. The girl welcomed them all and explained what was to happen. Mandy gave her a small, nervous smile as she collected a bat from the supplies box, she seemed nice.
"I'm Mandy Willis, fifth year, trying out for Beater if that's okay" she told the girl, flinging a leg over her broom and kicking off hard from the ground. It didn't appear as though everyone was ready to start yet, so Mandy went for a quick warm-up lap of the pitch, breathing in the fresh spring air, her wavy, dark blonde hair coming out of it's loose bobble almost instantly and flying out behind her. How she loved this feeling, there was nothing quite like it. She found flying therapeutic, she felt so free and alive on a broom.
Mandy returned to the centre of the pitch and readied herself. She knew beater was a position usually favored by the bigger, stronger boys, but though small and slim she herself has a fairly athletic build, strong arms and a good hit and had always found the position worked best for her.
The quaffles were released and Mandy watched as they began speeding around the pitch, spotting one headed for a nearby chaser, she sped forward, pulling herself forward on her broom a little, keeping her torso low against the handle. On approach, she raised her arm and swung it round to meet the bludger in a good, hard hit, and it went spiraling off in the other direction. Mandy gave the chaser a nod and set off again, her eyes scanning the pitch, alert and eager. She didn't have to look far for within a second a bludger found her, coming from behind she heard it gathering speed and turned just in time to give it one almighty whack.
Looking to her left, Mandy noticed one of the try-out seekers was having a spot of bother trying to out fly one of the large, red balls, and she set off instantly, urging her broom to move faster, coming up behind the seeker, swinging her arm round and hitting the bludger just as it was about to make contact. It wasn't as good a hit as her previous two, but it done the job and the bludger disappeared from sight.
Another came her way only moments later, from the right this time and she was ready for it, waiting with her arms out-stretched, grasping the bat with both hands this time, she brought it round and hit the thing off to the far left of the pitch were there was no one currently flying. It was her best hit yet and she felt a sudden jolt of pride as the crack of contact echoed throughout the pitch. Leaning low on her broom once more, she rushed to the aid of the keeper, spotting a bludger en route for his face, Mandy went for a two handed hit again and sent the bludger flying off to her right, bringing her knees up to each side of her broom to ensure stabilitly, though there was no real need, her balance was good.
The final bludger came just as she were about to head for the ground, coming at her side. If she missed a shot like this, it would be broken ribs for sure. Swinging the bat with her left hand, she hit the ball away and was pleased to see that even though it'd been a while since she last played, she could still aim and hit just as well with her left hand as she could her right, her right hand being what most would consider the 'stronger' writing hand. After a final sweep of the pitch to make sure there were no more rogue bludgers, Mandy took a nose dive towards the ground, pulling up in good time and landing softly. Returning the bat to the box, she gave the Captain another light smile before turning to walk up to the castle, hoping it wasn't long until lunch time.
She was happy and content with her performance, it was nothing special but it'd been a while since she'd played and she wasn't the most experienced anyway, having only ever actually been able to play with her father, brother and fathers' friends. If she didn't make the team, she didn't make the team. She definitely planned on doing a lot more flying this year either way, she really did enjoy Quidditch though, for the first time in weeks she felt properly energized and excited. Maybe this was exactly what she needed, some regular action to raise her spirits and keep her active.
