Y14 Gryffindor Quidditch Tryouts

Georgiana tried not to let any jealously blocked her mind as she listened to Damian's instructions. "No problem," she replied polietly and quietly giving the girl infront of the hoops one of her usual bright smiles before flying over towards the chasers. She noticed Briar flying among the four chasers and smiled at the older girl glad she was there. Even though Georgiana was more of a quiet team player, though completely opposite of herself out of the pitch, she enjoyed listening to the older girl lead the chasers. There were only two positions on a Quidditch team that didn't envolve needing partners, the Keeper and the Seeker, however they both benefitted from the other positions, beaters could put a hault to a seeker getting the snitch before their own team's seeker could, and chasers helped to block the chasers on the other team. Her mind began to focus on the task she was given and any jealousy she felt over Damian's annoyance with her and training the other girl instead went away. "Briar, tell me what you wa-nt me to do," she said yelling out to the older girl ignoring the crack in her voice as she did so. She hovered in the air infront of the hoops opposite that the team's captain was at, which gave the four chasers pretty mnuch alittle more then half a field to fly around in. Seeing the four chasers infront of her didn't scare her away from her position, she was just glad she wasn't facing four Slytherin chasers, those guys were pretty rough on the field. Her cheeks gained alittle color as the wind hit her face and warmed her skin up just alittle, it was nice to finally be outside instead of sitting in the hospital wing like she had been the past few days.

<COLOR color="#000">Aphrodite didn't pay much attention to whom was trying out for what, but when she heard that one of them had to step forward and take the Keeper position Aphrodite wrinkled her nose. Hopefully none of them expected her to do it. Chaser was the position she was good at and it was going to be the only position she was willing to do. The other positions were too hard or not thrilling enough to keep her interested in the game. Anyone who did try to nominate her would be smacked upside the head too. Aphrodite was nice but she wasn't nice to the point where she was going to let idiots walk all over her. Aphrodite readied her broom to attempt and show off her Quidditch skills and but then Briar came over and tried to instruct the Chaser on what they should do. Instantly the younger cub frowned and gave the girl a dirty look. Just who did she think she was? She was not the captain! Aphrodite snorted and crossed her arms over her chest. The inner lion of hers brought out her temper a little. Aphrodite hated listening to anyone wasn't in charge. Besides, shouldn't they be working as a team? That's what they were right? A team? "Who died and put you in charge?" Aphrodite asked Briar before she heard Damian address everyone saying that they needed to work together as a team. Giving the older girl one last look she mounted her broom and shot off into the skies. It wasn't like she meant to be completely rude, but she didn't like the girl trying to act like she was in charge when she wasn't. It was like she was assuming she was. Aphrodite waited for the other Chasers to get into the sky as well so they could work out what they needed to do.

Briar saw Georgina night, the girl who had played keeper for the previous years arrive. she was a little late but thankful to have her on the pitch as it may mean that Sid would come back to chaser, however apparently Damian wasn't happy with her for being late so he wanted to train Sid up a bit. She listened to the goings on, and realised that Georgina would be coming with them. she also heard Damian shout that he wanted all four of them to work together. "Alright boss, i just thought that you wanted to see both attack and defence" she shouted back explaining her reasoning for the decision however before she heard his reply she had two people coming over to her Georgina asking what she should do and Aphrodite asking why she was taking control. "Georgina, you are keeper so if you go to the goals and try and stop us scoring" she said to the first girl, then turning to the other chaser she raised an eyebrow, "no one, Just Damian was busy and no one else was doing it." she said, Aphrodite was lucky that she was in a good mood today as it was a few days after her first full moon, otherwise the werewolf girl may have lashed out a little stronger, not with the same force as the first girl. she turned to the rest of the chasers. "okay everyone has to touch the ball before it goes in, Aphrodite you start" she said, that was a good way to stop ball hoggers (mainly herself) from going strait to the goal, and she didn't want anyone to be left out. she passed the ball to aphrodite and waited for her to begin.

Unfortunately, things were not going as smoothly as Damian would have hoped. What was it, a full moon tonight? Were people really wanting to get at each other's throats so easily? Damian wished that things would have gone as they had last year and the year before that, working as a team rather than having someone else - on how he felt - change it up which of course caused some conflict. When he heard Rowan's reasons for deciding that, Damian was not watching the Quaffle when thrown back to him, and he dropped it. Damian needed help because he was going to lose his temper. Damian flourished his wand and he summoned the Quaffle back up to him. With the quaffle under his arm, he told Simon that he would be back. With his streak in gear, he soared toward the Chasers, before he said, "Okay look, I don't know what's going on, but I have not had this issue. I want you all to work on teamwork, because of what I saw last game. There were none. Rowan, I don't need to see either offense or defense. I just want to see teamwork. Offense and defense are for practices later. Snow, retract your claws until after the try outs, please." Damian was feeling a little overwhelmed, and it was evident in his eyes. The emotions were stressed and aggravation. His tone was soft, tired and just wanting to connect with everyone. He had no negative tones in his voice, none whatsoever, and he did not have an attitude. "The next person to get an attitude with another or says anything negative to another will be benched and or sent off the pitch. I really don't have time to play referee and train someone else at the same time. That goes for everyone, no matter if you are new or have been on the team for some time. Everyone is equal, understand that." He looked toward the other Keeper before he smiled faintly. She looked a little better than before, but he did not want her working too hard while she was sick. "Are you guys ready to work on teamwork now, without getting on one and another's nerves? We are all in it for the same thing, to beat the other houses." Damian asked in a soft tone, but his expression did not lack any sort of joke.

Haha dramaaaa

Briar saw the Captain come and fly towards them, her emotions were already starting to heat up from the Snow girls comments. however she tried to calm them down as she needed to be on the team again this year, and she was sure fighting with one of the other chasers wasn't a good way to do it. she pulled the white sleeves down on the long sleeved shirt she was wearing under her gryffindor top, she hoped people thought that she was wearing the top for the cold, it wasn't, she could face cold like this in just a singlet, it was to hide she marks on her arms from a few nights prior. hearing the captains words she lowered her head and backed up a couple of feet, sinking a little as she did. she was one to get very into the sport, and very competitive. she realised that she had taken the alpha position and she needed Damian to remind her that it was not her place to take. she realised that she needed to save her competitiveness for when they were actually playing the other teams. "Sorry Damian, I didn't mean to take your job or over power your decisions" she said much of the fight in her being released. she was actually impressed at how well he had handled the team. if she had been in that position she wouldn't have been able to stay that calm or controlled. "so what exactly do you want to see us do as a team?" she asked. deciding that she had better do what the captain wanted and not what she wanted.

Minoas shook his head as drama emerged between his team players. The captain was right, they needed team work and it was obvious that some of them weren't in the kind of mood that would help to cooperate. He kept switching his glance from the captain to briar and the third year that was looking for a cat fight. He decided to remain silent until he was ordered to do something and show his skills. He couldn't wait. As he was waiting to listen to his name, he was hovering, watching the beaters that had already started practising.

Georgiana nodded to Briar glad she could actually stop the quaffle from going in the hoop instead of just fetching it as the chasers praticed throwing it in. The young girl has had to do this before while her friends practiced their chaser skills in the past and it was even more boring then it sounded. Hovering in front of the hoops she waited to hear the rules Briar would set up for the chasers before they could throw it in and she was glad to hear all of them would have to touch the ball, it'd give her time to focus on all of their moves to get a general picture of how the newer students on the field flew and aimed for the hoops. Suddenly she realized as Damian flew over that she missed something as she geered herself for their mini game. Listening to what he was saying she realized that wasn't included in those who were causing any drama, which was good because she hated to be in the center of any thing. Listening to his teamwork pep talk she realized how true it was that everyone on the team depended on others being their best every second of the game if they wanted to win. Georgie would have to do her best today if she wanted to be on the team, she knew that, therefore she knew she'd have to keep her mouth shut about anything that happened even if another person tried to start anything with her. She was tired and ready to play and also get rid of any leftover sickness in her body which she hoped and believed getting out today and being here at the tryouts would help. Noting the smile from the captain she nodded in return glad she wasn't on a badside of his or anyones at the moment. "Let the games begin!" She shouted raising her fist in the air with a smile on her face, quoting a famous muggle saying that they used for just about everything they were about to start not just games.

Nevaeh smiled at the other chasers, and a moment of nervousness fluttered through her stomach as she realized she could be a sub again this year. That was definitely not what she wanted. It was definitely time to step up her game and show what she could do. Nevaeh shot off into the sky, loving the feel of the wind against her face. It had been awhile since she had been in the air, and she let off a couple of loops to get herself ready. Nevaeh looked dumbfounded as Riley's co-prefect Briar Rowan took charge. She wasn't sure if Damian had informed her to do so, but she thought that the way they had done their try-outs the year before worked fine. Nevaeh withheld a smile as the younger Gryffindor girl, Aphrodite got smart to Briar. This wasn't a time for fighting, and Nevaeh hoped that there wouldn't be any drama in the team - that was a sure way to help them lose. However, a smile did reach Nevaeh's face as the captain came forward and told them to calm down. Nevaeh nodded her head when Damian asked if they were ready to play as a team. "Ready as I'll ever be Damian." Nevaeh said, itching to start.

"Work together as a team, like I said before," spoke Damian, his teal eyes focused on Briar. However at least she apologized for trying to overtake him in the whole captain thing. Damian was sure not going to let that happen. Maybe he would have a few years ago, but not now. He gave her a look of warning, that if she tried it again, there would be more consequences than just being benched. He flew off to help train the other Keeper. They may need Siddalee to be the Keeper, but they may need Georgiana Night as well. He had a lot of decisions to make.
