Putting up fliers for the Quidditch Tryouts, Damian hoped that this year would be better than the last. They did have quite a few players, but the only reason that they had won the game last year was because the snitch was worth so much. Quidditch seemed to be so stressful, and he was glad that he had nothing else to really add onto his stress and mind right now other than NEWTs. The Gryffindor Prefect had his streak in hand, his Quidditch robes around his body and his hair was combed neatly. He hoped that he had everyone that showed up from the previous years come too. Damian looked around and he smiled a little bit more. The Pitch was as beautiful as ever. He wanted nothing more but to start flying. He used magic to carry the box with the Quidditch balls in it, and he looked around to see if anyone would arrive early or not.
OOCOut of Character: Instructions
Here is what you do, just walk up to Damian, say your name (unless he knows you, so if you aren't new, just state your position) and say what you are trying out for. That is it, just the arriving post.

Briar made her way to the quidditch pitch, she was starting to feel more like herself again. this year surprisingly she was early so she didn't need to fly down, instead she walked leisurely down. she had tried to be early this year as next year she hoped to have the job that Damian had held since she had joined the team, and she wanted to leave a good impression. she had trained hard all through the previous years she she doubted that she would have any problems getting on the team but she enjoyed try outs as flying with a bunch of players who she had never flown with before was fun, as everyone had their own style. "Hey Damian, I'm trying for chaser again this year" she said. walking over to where he had left the box. last year they had had a game joint team with Hufflepuff they had not played well together, (with what felt like just her Dannii and Damian taking on the whole opposing team) as a result of this they had almost lost to Slytherclaw. Thankfully this year she had been training one of the younger students to play chaser, she just hoped that he would make it onto the team.

Minos had spent at least an hour before the scheduled try-outs, glancing impatiently his watch again and again. He was dressed up with his robes, holding his scarlet streak while sitting on his bed waiting for time to slip away. It was the first time in his life that he was so anxious. The whole sensation was so overwhelming that he could easily say that it was competing his time in the forest, facing a bunch of large acromantulas, as a nerve-wrecking one. Sick of waiting, he left the common room earlier and mechanically made his way to the grounds. As he was heading to the pitch, he saw in the distance Briar. She was heading as well there for the try-outs. He tried to catch up with her but he managed to arrive later, just when she stated the post she was going to try-out for.

"Hello guys. I'm Minoas and I would like to try for a chaser." he stated after he greeted the two people that were already there. He hadn't spoke before with Damian, the captain of the team but he knew him from the game with the hufflepuffs against slytherins and ravenclaws. He was ready to give his best shot. He had prepared well enough for this the past one year and he had a lot of help from the experience that Briar was carrying and was kind enough to share with him. He gave a rather forced smile to Briar because of his anxiety as they were waiting for further instructions.

Heidi moved in small stride carrying her Sienna storm right underneath her arm. She wasn't up for it this year, trying out for Quidditch had been the last thing on her mind since the return of the school year. Yet here she was with her mediocre broomstick in hand and half the courage she summon from out of nowhere to try out for again. She arrived at the pitch, waving to Damian and Briar, smiling at the younger boy who must be new to trying out. "I'm Heidi, and I'm going for Beater again" she sweep her broom down besides her. She'd almost forgot last year try-outs, till she was reminded of the fall. Going through that again will be the highlight of her life once more, oh well it's not like she had anything better to do.

Sidda had scared herself. She was early for Quidditch tryouts. She was never early - for anything. It was weirding her out. Despite this, she marched onto the Quidditch pitch, head held high, broom in hand and excited to see a few familiar faces. She hadn't tried out for the team last year, as she had wanted to focus on passing her OWLs. Now that they were behind her, she was excited to be in the air again. She walked up to Damian, who she remembered from the team two years ago, stuck out her hand, and said, "Hi. I'm Sidda. You might not remember me - I wasn't on the team last year, but I was the year before. Chaser or Seeker, wherever you need me.
Having introduced herself, she went to stand beside her best friend Briar, grinning excitedly. "This is gonna be so much fun!" she stage whispered to Bri, nudging her in the ribs. She was excited and ready to get back in the air.

James was now in his third year, and he wanted to be the seeker this year. Last year was the alternate seeker and never got to play. He went to the Quidditch pitch to try out for seeker yet again. Maybe, this year, he would actually get it. James' brother Adrian was on a professional Quidditch team. He wanted to be like his brother. He saw a group of Gryffindor students in the middle of the pitch. "Hey, I'd like to try out for seeker again this year.", he told the captain of the team, of whose name he had forgotten. He waited until he could try out.

Having replaced that godawful broom he had before, Rakas could not wait until he tried out his scarlet streak out on the field. As a team beater for so many years, Rakas was excited that he was going to be able to get to hit things at incredible speed! Taking his bat, the Gryffindor Sixth Year made his way down to the pitch where he saw Damian. He waved to the lad before he looked at the others on the field. He wondered if anyone else was playing for beater other than Heidi. He shrugged and he said, "Hi Damian, beater again!" He packed his bat over his shoulder, his red hair matching his robes and broom. He really was going to be one red blur. All he needed was red contacts and he could have been the team mascot or something too.

Nevaeh walked down to the Quidditch Pitch, this time without Riley by her side. Last year they had both tried out together, but there was no sight of Riley this year. Nevaeh knew it was because she was going through a rough patch, what with her parent's divorce, and breaking up with her boyfriend and all. But what made it worse is that Riley hadn't spoken to her best friend, Nevaeh, in ages; not since she told Nevaeh to leave her alone. Sighing, Nevaeh pushed the thoughts out of her head and focused on the task at hand. If she wanted to become a Professional Quidditch Player, she going to have to get on the team again, but not as a sub. She wanted to play in all the games, she loved the game so dearly.
Pushing the tinge of butterflies in her stomach aside, Nevaeh walked confidently up to Damian and with her best smile she stated, "Nevaeh Haze; going for Chaser again."

Briar Saw a lot of people arriving at the pitch. As Minoas arrived she smiled and winked. "Good luck" she whispered hoping he had remembered what they had gone through during their training session together. then she saw a familiar yet rather surprising flash of fire heading down from the castle. Sid her friend "Hey Sid, nice to see you here." she said as her friend said that she was trying for chaser and seeker. It would be awesome if the three of them were the team chasers. a few other people arrived, a couple of beaters who had been on the team the previous year, and even another seeker. however they had no keeper. when another heat appeared she recognised Nevaeh. four people trying out for chaser meant that they wouldn't all get a spot. she hoped that she did, she needed something to focus on this year. Even though she wanted everyone else to get what they wanted, she would fight for her spot if it came to it.

As more and more gryffindors were arriving in the pitch to dare their luck for a position in the team, Minoas was getting more and more ready to give it a go. He might was the younger among them but he had nothing to fear. He was going to depend on his skills that had improved the past one year. He thanked Briar for her support once again and smiled. Seemed that chaser's position was quite popular and he liked that. He was always up for a friendly competition. Of course he wouldn't like to take Briar's position, concluding her out of the team. He wasn't going to accept that. Other than that, the position was up for graps.

<COLOR color="#000">Aphrodite approached the Quidditch Pitch, her newly purchased broom clutched tightly within her hands. Aphrodite loved Quidditch, so much. So she was excited that tryouts were going on. What she wasn't excited about was seeing the faces of her future possible teammates. Yes Aphrodite was fairly nice and accepting towards everyone she knew, but she could still think they were idiots right? Actually the young cub didn't even know half of them, so her feelings mostly remained to a few of the ones she did remember from last year. Her honey blonde hair was tried back in a bright red ribbon once again to show her support for her house colors. Her thin frame approached Damian and she looked at him softly. "I'm here to try out for Chaser again." She smiled softly and brushed a few strands out of her face and walked away from Damian to prepare herself with the others. When she approached them she smiled at a few and waved at the newcomers to be friendly. But for those on the team she didn't really like all that much she just didn't pay much attention to them. Aphrodite was not like Krystin whom pretty much made a war out of not liking someone. Aphrodite put some gloves on to help her keep grip of the broom better for when the tryouts began. She hoped her skills were up to speed with everyone else's this year because she really wanted to play again. Most of her Holiday break has been spent with her singing coach and not playing Qudditch though she hadn't practiced in awhile.

Damian looked around the members that wanted a spot, and this time, they were lacking a Keeper. Some were trying out for seeker, but he didn't really understand why. He was the seeker of the team, and he was not going to miss out on a chance to play Quidditch for his final year. So, he turned to the younger Gryffindor and he said, "Then, Slick, you will have to be an alternate, because the Seeker position isn't exactly open. But those trying out for chasers, I need one of you to be the Keeper. Whichever has more experience with guarding than shooting. Once one of you has come forward with that, we will continue on with the try outs."

Briar realised that there were far too many chasers and no keeper at about the same time Damian did. although she could probably play as keeper there was no way that she wanted to. she liked the action in the game, chaser had always been her position of choice and she had played that part well for the house for quite a few years. she wouldn't mind beater but keeper was just boring to her. she hoped that she wouldn't be the one nominated for the position change, the previous year she had played in the house cup and according to the hufflepuff house captain she had been pretty good in her position, and Dannii had gone to play pro. Briar Agreed with the former hufflepuff as many times she thought that the entire gryfinpuff attack was her work. so instead of talking Briar Just stood there watching to see if anyone would choose to change positions. there would only be one way she would play keeper and that would be if Minoas the boy who had become a brother to her ended up nominated to play keeper, as she had been training him and she wanted him to have a proper go at chaser.

Heidi opt out of this decision. Beater were needed regardless, she and Rakas were the main one here to reclaim their spots at beaters. Besides she would do terrible in other positions, she had just found her wings for flying so switching would be a bad decision on her spot. They should remember her try-outs last year, the fall left quite a mark on her shoulder. She remain silence looking over the younger students or Sid, the older girl. She felt bad for assuming one of them would say anything, though how was she suppose to act right now? Picking up her broom she look over Rakas, she wanted to practice with him if he wanted too, she gave him a signal to join. Heidi wanted to fly today and get better at her position.

There was an awkward moment of silence after Damian's announcement. It seemed no-one was willing to step forward. Sidda had only had experience playing Chaser - she had originally gone for Seeker, but only ended up as alternate. Damian, as captain, automatically got his position - Seeker. The young blond boy would probably be alternate Seeker. Heidi and the boy with very red hair (the ultimate ginger, she mused) would be Beaters. Going for Chaser was Sidda, Briar, Minoas, Nevaeh and the blond with the red ribbon. She was really very reluctant to give up her preferred position, but if no-one else was willing and the team needed it...taking a deep breath, Sidda stepped forward, saying, "I don't have any experience, but if no-one else wants to be Keeper, then I guess I'll do it - although you'll probably have to train me a bit. Or maybe - just an idea - two of us could alternate between Keeper and Chaser?" That would be a good arrangement, she thought - that way, instead of one player giving up the role they wanted, two of them could alternate, meaning that they'd both get time playing as Chasers, and they'd also fill the Keeper role. It would also, she thought, be an advantage - they'd understand the game from two positions' perspectives, allowing them to work together better. But, if her idea wasn't taken, then she'd sacrifice her hopes to fill the role - after all, maybe next year she could be Chaser.

Needless to say, Damian was not too thrilled about having no one step up to the plate. He didn't expect the beaters to really do anything because if one did, they would be short a beater. Damian's inner thoughts went on in his mind, and the two obvious chasers in his mind that were going to remain were none other than Aphrodite Snow and Briar Rowan seeing as last year, they were the only ones that were even playing right. He would have been able to see the beaters in action, but Hufflepuff took that. Finally, when Simon stepped up, but she did not have any experience. However her idea, though it was smart, Damian didn't see it happening. He flashed a kind smile to the sixth year, "I can train you in that position. Quite easy actually. But alternating between, it would cause unneeded time outs, and it would be too big of a risk. We might really need one in a brutal game, if you know what I mean." He looked to the other team members before he said, "Okay, Varius and Longbottom, take to the skies with your bats and get to work. Easy enough for you two." Damian used his wand to release the bludgers, as the black spheres took off to the sky. He released the snitch for Slick, and said, "You just catch it all you can, Slick." Damian bent down and he picked up one of the quaffles and he tossed it to one of the chasers, "Stratis, Rowan, Snow and Haze, you should know the drill, just use the North hoops. Though sad to say, one of you will end up an alternate." And finally, he had the other one in his hand. He was not going to be able to practice today, but he would deal. Right now, he had to train Simon. Surely one on one training with a Prefect would not discourage her. Damian mounted his broom and he went up to the sky, expecting the sixth year to follow suit, toward the South hoops. This was going to be tricky. He would have to play a Chaser, and watch the other chasers to decide on which one would end up on the bench. But he would definitely take it easy on her (especially considering that Damian was definitely not cut out for the Chaser position).

Sidda watched as Damian snapped into captain mode and ordered everyone into their positions. Sure, he hadn't quite understood what she meant by "alternating" - she'd meant that they were a Chaser for one game, Keeper for the next - but that was okay. She was a given on the team now - and she'd get to play every game, unless she got injured. Grabbing her broom, she mounted and lifted off, chasing after Damian. As she flew to catch up, a thought crossed her mind. Keepers often had to reach for the ball and be able to guard a large area at once - and she wasn't exactly big. Okay, so she was tiny - five feet tall exactly, and scrawny to boot. The first-years were taller than her. 'Oh, well - it won't be the first time I have to prove that dynamite comes in small packages!' she thought. She met Damian at the South posts, going to hover by the hoops. No point wasting time - she'd have to train extra if she wanted to be a decent Keeper. "You're Chasing and I'm Keeping, right?" she called to Damian. Hopefully she wouldn't make a fool out of herself in trying this, but it couldn't be too hard - just like intercepting a pass as Chaser, right? Right?

Hopefully this year, they would be able to play more than just one game. Damian prayed that they would come together as a team but they had not the previous year, which was why he was so upset. If it weren't for Ariah being sick, and their seeker flunking out for some reason, or whatever, they would have lost, and it would have been a blow-out. A boy could get angry, but that was last year. This was a whole new year, and he was really excited to have a good size team. He hoped that when a game comes, they all work together as a team this time around. Damian remained still on his broom, tossing the quaffle up and down. He nodded, and he just said, "Remember to keep your eyes on the quaffle. It's like being a Chaser, only you stick to one area, and catch a lot more. And you don't have other Chasers trying to steal the quaffle. Like the Keeper on the Ravenclaw team said, just keep your eye on the scarlet ball. And as a chaser yourself, you can probably predict their moves better than a regular keeper." Damian was hoping this would boost her confidence up. Damian scooted back on the broom, flying backward. He hoped that he wouldn't hit anyone in reverse. He threw the quaffle at a moderate strength, toward the middle goal. It was almost obvious where it was going.

Briar felt guilty when Sid stepped up for the job, a moment of selfishness n her part had let her friend play a position that she wasn't used to. deciding that she would talk to Sid about it later. she took a second red ball and smiled at the other chasers, "ready to fly. Good luck everyone" she said kicking off. she headed for the sky and headed to the north hoops. "okay so there is four of us, so two on two half pitch, you must take it to the half way line after a change of possession. Nevaeh, and Aphrodite do you want to go together, and I will go with Minoas." she said taking control. she hoped that next year she would be captain. she waited to see if the others would agree with her pairings and her training plan, she thought that they were fair pairings as the girls had played together before and she had played with Minoas a few times too and she hoped that she could help him show off some new moves. she looked to see how well Sid was doing. she seemed to be doing okay, and she was certain she would improve with practice. if she wanted to she would practice with her friend in the evenings sometimes if she wanted to.

Heidi nodded, she grip her Sienna Storm mounting the broom she took for the skies directly right away. she was excited to be back in the ear, more excited than last year. she already felt like she could handle her balance better and the way she took off went along smoothly since she been off a broom for some time. She rolled her blue-green eyes to her partner in crimes of the pitch, he was still down below. No matter, she wield her bat right in front of her as her eyes went up searching for those heavy buldgers. Seeing one coming from the west side of the pitch, Heidi pulled her back bat, aim, and swung as hard as she could to send the bloody ball somewhere else. The ball smack against the surface of her bat, and went in the direction she favor. Wonderlust. She flew few inches up higher, wearing a grin to display satisfaction in her actions. Off to save a few butts, she swung her self a little and dove down to search for more hits with her bat.

There was a moment of silence after the captain pointed out that there were far too many chasers and the team lacked a keeper. Minoas studied the expressions of the rest of the lions as he was having his own thoughts. He had never tried before guarding the goal posts. In fact he had been practising solely for a chaser, both alone and with Briar. When the girl bravely enough, spoke up, she made a good suggestion. Minoas wanted to speak up and accept that offer but he wasn't feeling pretty confident for that. Whe he was feeling that something was out of his league, he usually wouldn't try it. In addition, the last thing that the young gryffindor wanted was for his team to lose because of his inability to guard the hoops.

Minoas wished to everyone good luck and followed Briar who was in charge of the chasers. When she announced the pairs he felt more confidence boosted within him. "Ok let's do this!". He mounted his scarlet streak and hovered a few feet above the ground, waiting for further instructions.

Even when the Captain consulted with the chasers over the Keeper position, Rakas took this time to eat a cauldron cake while wondering if this red hair was going to remain forever. Professor Hensel was not really clear on that from the potion exploding, but Rakas didn't care. It was awesome looking. Then Damian ordered everyone to their positions, while the beater was still eating! Rakas hurried before he finished the rest of it, and he mounted his Streak. With his bat in hand, Rakas soared to the skies with his broom. Poor boy could never remember when a girl or someone was speaking to him. He had a short attention span, and when he got to eating cauldron cakes, he had a one track mind. He leaned forward after spotting a bludger, and he brought his arm back, and took a giant smack at it. CRACK! It soared away from the pitch, and Rakas beamed. He looked around for the other beater before he found her. He flew in her direction before he waved to her. "Sorry it took a bit!" He was too embarrassed to really tell anyone, he was eating cake so he was late. But it seemed like his hyper activity was back in command. He went around the pitch, to protect others from beating pummeled by bludgers.

Georgiana was running late, not being quite herself today just getting over what the muggles called the flu. She was feeling alot better after resting but when she learned the tryouts for Gryffindor were today and not the next day she got herself up and ran out the door. "Damian, sorry for being a few minutes late. Georgiana Night here to go for my usual spot of keeper," she said as she flew up next to the captain. Georgie was a bit paler then normal but she knew a great player wouldn't let anything stop her from playing her game. Looking over at the person in the hoops she hoped the person wouldn't be serious competition for her, she had the spot since her second year when her then boyfriend Logan convinced her to try the game. That year she learned that it was harder then she thought but she was a pretty decent player and she loved the game.

Looking around she noticed alot of familar faces, not many have graduated out of the school yet and she was glad that the team was still mostly here. Georgie also hoped that she could maintain her spot on the team. She wavered in her spot in the air waiting for a reply from Damian knowing he was busy drilling the other players, who mostly seemed to be chasers.

Sidda nodded as Damian explained the Keeper job. It didn't sound too hard. She could do this. She ducked as a Bludger soared over her head, then saw the ball flying towards the middle goal. Easy. She darted right, catching the ball, but then overshooting slightly. Turning back to the middle post, Sidda tossed the ball back to Damian, shouting, "Oh, come on! Don't go easy on me - I can take it!" Sidda was new to the job, but her competitiveness was coming out and she wanted a challenge. Just then, another girl flew up to where she and Damian were and said that she was the keeper. There was a moment of silence where they all just hovered there, and then Sidda spoke up. "Awkward..."

OOCOut of Character:
Just to let you guys know, I'll be away for a few days, with no internet access :( so during that time feel free to god-mod (to an extent). I don't mind whether Sidda sticks as Keeper or goes back to Chaser, but just feel free to mention her doing either and fitting in with everyone else. Sorry and thanks ;)

Simon had caught the quaffle with ease. She was looking to be a good keeper. Once he had the quaffle in his hands, Damian laughed as he told her with honesty, "I am not a good chaser, so I'll attempt to do better." However just before he was going to toss the ball to her once more, their old Keeper, Georgiana Night, came along wishing to try out. The expression on his face was priceless, because they had waited around for a bit, before they started try outs. She looked sick so he was not going to say much. Rolling his eyes, he told Night, "Okay, go to where the Chasers are. I am still going to train Simon here to be a Keeper as well." Damian did not know what he was going to do about this. Showing up late was definitely not a good sign, and if this was an actual game, they could have forfeited by the time she had showed up. Not going to let his irritation get in the way, he smiled lightly at Simon before he turned his broom around, and he shouted to the chaser, "All four of you, work together as a team! No exceptions!" He did not really like them pairing off like that. Reason being, there would be three actually playing in the game. If two paired off, one would be left out of the loop. They all would have to work together for plays. Damian turned back to Simon before he gave her a gentle smile, "Ready?" His smile turned into a smirk, and he went on to train Simon to what he believed would be an excellent Keeper.
OOCOut of Character:
Okay, Hannah. I'll just have Damian keep training her, and I assume, she will be good at the position. After try-outs, that is when I'll be making my ultimate decision on what is going to happen on the team.
